1.Champ Forever and Smart Empire .
Betting based on the odds.
2.Narwal , Anguna.
Both these horses have to place by default.One could turn out to be the
winner.Chamcha in chief and Winning ways are avoidable.
3.Al Awal , Romantic Flyer and Hunting Boyare likely to finish on
board.Smarty Prince for the upset.
4.Easy Flash , King in the Sky , Grey Shot.
Indradhanush looks doubtful for place along with CANPOUS.Ninja Power can
upset.
5.Boston Ranger , Cygnet and Page three come into the picture of which
CYGNET seems a place certainity.Page 3 has run with class horses and can
be a live threat inspite of the handicap.Mr Chief can only place.
6.Vinaleo , Glare, Secret Command , Walk in the Park.
seems to be an open race.Glare is looking good on handicap and should
place easily.
7.Fabulous Crown , Proud Accolade , Danzsingh.
8.Indian Diva , Debonaire , Cannon Gain.
seems to be a very competitive race.First named gets preference on
handicap.
9.Cherie Dei , Cheif De Mission , Cogent.
Tigiana and Top Act might be fancied but based on relative peformance
CHERIE Dei gets first preference.

Mumbai Last Day races
2007 Last Race Day.
The FIRST Five races have very few runners and AS only 2 places payout is offered it is a move which favors the Book makers.
These are my choices for the day.
1.Imperium , Kempiniski ;
Imperium's last run should be ignored as the Horse was never in striking
range at any point in the race.Did come up well to finish second.Can relish over the extended trip.
Kempinski shed his maiden status after several failures.With good saddle assistance is a Live threat.
EARL of Warwick a good negative bet if it is quoted at even or less.
2.Toofan mail was backed from 10 to 1.25 last time and lost due to Jockey incompetance.Not sure if the others would oblige with favors again.
Shaktiman should be a better option along with HYMN Star.
3.GAEA has the class but the handicap is might go against the filly.Surprising to see allowance Jockeys are not entrusted to offset the Weight disadvantage as 3 earlier wins were by Tograllu.
World War Three and Dreaming can shine.Nitrous does not impress in this handicap race.
4.Bad race .Right Man and Game of Power have better chance than Arabian power which is expected to be the Rage.
5.Usually only Winners in 2 year old races have the chances to repeat.Not sure if the same would hold good tomorrow.I expect Queens Flory to get the better of Successor. Secret Glory had a forward run last week and can be in contention.
6.Here Comes the Don , Salandra , Notable Runner.
Council of the Gods has been an expensive failure and is best left alone until he gets back to Winning ways.
Fair Tactics is seen after a long gap and hence not considered.However the horse has run with quality opposition and is a good bet only if the Horse has not had any setback.

Here are my selections for the day ;
1.Wears a open look in spite of the blazing track work of a few horses.Looking at the card these Horses come into contention.
( In the Order as per the card )
Glory Bound ,Prince Ville , Rare and Precious , Man United , Seven Star.
Prince Ville is the PUBLIC Fancy on the basis of the impressive THIRD to Stable mate when ridden by a work Jockey.However if one looks at the Pedigree of this Horse compared to the others which have WON ( same stable ) this appears to be the weak link.Very few offsprings of Brave Act have Won and most of them are late Bloomers.Since the odds are anyway going to be very cramped It would PAY to look at the others also.
Rare and Precious also has finished 3 rd with a average jockey in the saddle.Can do well with Christopher.Each way Bet.
Man United : Dark Horse having come a close 4 th to Miss Honey Dew.Should PLACE easily.
Glory Bound and Seven Star purely for the blood lines.
2.VB Race.
Global Tycoon , Queen of Speed and Latin Twister : Merit is never the criteria as they are anyway in the ZERO CLASS , so there is no Genuine merit.
3.Most unusual race for the day.5 apprentice Jockeys . of the rest One is a Lost cause at the time of accepting the ride.Not possible to Justify any Selection as the Jockey's merit/ lapses would make / break the race.
I would opt for SOUTH PARADISE and Starry View.
4.Flaming Lamborgini , Milford , my Friend Paul and Lord of Illusion.The rest do not impress.
FL has run close to some very good horses and with Mallesh can do well.The only negative is the Handicap.
Milford is in safe hands now and hence the chances are bright.
My Friend Paul : is hiding true form .Is capable of a surprise.
Lord of Illusion :A level jump from the gates can see it through.
5.Three Horses which have absolutely no chance are : Full Speed , Symbol of Speed and Dare Don.
Lion Heart : the Positive is : Impressive record and last outing Winner so has a chance.Negative : Top weight and the relative age factor.
Imperial View : twice ran 4 th to Bourbon King , when the Horse was never in contention.Unlucky to lose to Southern Charge in Bangalore.Loss to Vijayraaj can be related to Jockey.So has the best credentials.Running in open class so might have to give the best.
Fairytaleending : has a impressive recrd in bangalore.Not sure of its state of form as it lost in western india with dubious riders.CAN Place.
Stafire ;Has a good record in handicap races.Jockey is the Problem.
6.Korporate , Black Splendor , Zafar , Kioko.
the previous unexpected run of Korporate is best ignored as the Horse is known for the inconsistency.Negative BET at 1.5 and below.
Kioko and Black Splendor have better record and performance to back their claims.

open affair.We could see some inspired betting coming on Madam Rich.Looks difficult.If Lord of Illusion and Milford do well one can expect Kandiate also to shine.

Listless friday
Hi guys,
small and unimpressive card of six events framed for the day and most races are conducted purely on account of late entries.This unfortunately gives scope for benificial arrangements amongst the Trainers.These are my choices ;
1.One , Sensational Bay , Originality.
ONE : The Jockey is a bother.So i would avoid a bet though the track movements are pleasing.
Anna's Quest does not impress me.
2.Arabain Knight has nothing to beat based on its earlier performances , however the Jockey has not been upto the mark and this might make a difference in this high quality race.South Star looks difficult in 1 - 2.
Sontag Etoile is a decent each way bet.Swift Fire might not be able to stay the distance at optimum speed.
3.Bad Race.
DONS Delight.Can Strike amongst these non performers.Command Performance and Everything Nice both run in same colors and hence I have skipped both.
Aspiring seven will PLACE ahead of Mahi VE.
This could the ONLY race with a chance of a upset.
4.Upper Crust has never been a genuine winner at level terms or on top handicap.Purely on handicap this horse cant WIN.However Since Diamond Hunter , Laguna Blue and Stylish Bay are ruled out , UPPER CRUST can WIN if the others are not upto the task.
Hyacnith is my choice for PLACE.
5.@ 62 kgs Scimitar : Forget .
Blink : has a good chance.If the odds are above 5 to 1 , One can expect M Easwar to show some consideration.Else it wont even place.
Van De Star : may at best PLACE.
Southern Chieftan : looks like a GIFT RACE.
Ciboney : Negative equipment change and Stable choice is SCIMITAR , but nothing prevents the Horse to go to the front and stay on.
6.Little Splendour / She's Spectacular.Close finish can be expected.Walter or Special Gesture for Place.
On a Roll : 3 rd race in a MONTH for a 2 year old.SO Avoidable.
There is always ANOTHER day for racing.Why rush through on such a listless day with such a poor field.

Hi all , Long card of 9 races and from the looks of it , One can expect some surprises in a majority of the races.Most of Darashah/ Gnaneshwar's mounts are expected to open as Favorites and racing Logic suggests that only 2 out of 9 can possibly WIN.
1.Fit for Fray , Eona , San Siro.
Though this is a BACHA race which is usually wide open , i feel Dancers wave and EONA are the only 2 Horses with a chance to Score.If Dancers Wave is quoted at Even Money or Lower , it would be the BEST Negative Bet for the day.
2.Classic Armour , Celebrity Eclipse , Glitter as Gold ( Simiran's credentials are not known ; can upset )
After today's results , I wanna Fly's chances of Winning are compltely eroded.Looks difficult for PLACE.
3.Regal Winner , Sterling Speed , Bold Promise.
Regal Winner is expected the reverse the standings vis a vis BOLD Promise.Blood Stream is showing a lot of promise and can place.
4.Maurities Star , Star Danzing , Exclusive Design.

The races were orginally scheduled for 19 th and due to the adverse track conditions the same card has been retained.Hope the same Jockeys are retained as even a small difference in JOCKEY merit makes a lot of difference.
This was evident on Monday when Hayes substituted for Grant and lost a easy race due to bad judgement.Also Jockey Appu was unable to do justice on perfect Tribute.

Here are my selections for the CHRISTMAS Day races.
1.Sudden Impact : Ran well in the home strech to finish a good 4 th to Tantrik.Ready to strike.
Casual Look : unextended 4th to War of Attrition.Can run close.
Black Hussar: Tracking well and inline for a Place to celebrate the Festival for the Owners and Trainer.
Kai and Ekofisk : No track details.Mirror Image might take it easy this run when fancied by one and all.
2.Fly me to the Stars : systematically brought down on handicap.Should easily account for this set as it mostly consists of horses which should have retired long ago.
La tremlo : though short of distance can place due to the poor field. One of Lagad's horsec
3.Star Crusader : Neeraj kept it way off the pace in its previous outing ,should be a sitter this time.
Dominatrix and City Tamer : Mutualy benifical decisions taken by trainers at race time will decide on WHO will try , though Dominatrix seems the better Horse.
Spiritual Flame should place by default.
Miles and More : C D Hayes will be out of depth.
3.Fantasy Lake , Sepia Tone and Rising Warrior.Winner is amongst these Three only and Two Horses will Definitely Place.Bet based on the odds at race time.
4.Schnell will find it tough this time.Can be a GOOD negative Bet.
Strathendrick , Generalissmo,Spica and Wafadar can be considered for Betting.
Deleecious will find the distance sharp.Oprah ignored as it is coming after a long layoff and without track work.
6.Handsome Returns and Matata Pride.One of these Two will emerge the Winner.
Rest of the field will be in the fray for Place only.
7.Love Forty, House Perfect and the ageing Taras Bulba.
Urban Warrior may at best PLACE.

Three Horses with absolutely no chance are : Adrenalin Rush , Diplomatic License and Mothers Son.
1.Dominatrix : previous run was a handy 4 th to Blue Vision.Since the outcome of the race was never in question the connexions might have taken it easy.Besides Appu did not try to try to go to the front in the initial stages of the race.Not seen in Tracks but SWIMMING record is visible.After losing a race as 80 paisa favorite WON at 20 to 1 in a terms race.Subsequently lost to TOTALITARIAN under controvesial circumstances ( related stables ) coming from way off the pace.Totalitarian today is highly rated.Next run Lost to fancied AQUADISIAC and this time Jockey took the Horse to the front deliberately and lost steam.Lost to another horse from Friendly stable.So has a good chance TODAY based on HORSE Merit.
2.Spiritual Flame : Has been running consistenly since the last mumbai season.Has the potential to score but one cant bet on the Horses from the Stable consistently as the intentions are always suspect.Would relish the distance and can come into the picture if the jockey is upto the task.
3.Miles and More : Though talented lost in Pune for non racing reasons.Jockeys have been changed regularly and this does not instill confidence.C D Hayes recent performances have not been to the mark as of date.If City Tamer is in the betting this Horse's chances are as GOOD as gone as Arti Doctor is not likely to go against D A Nanda.Genuine horse but too many negatives.

1.Sudden Impact : Ran well in the home strech to finish a good 4 th to Tantrik.Ready to strike.
Casual Look : unextended 4th to War of Attrition.Can run close.
Black Hussar: Tracking well and inline for a Place to celebrate the Festival for the Owners and Trainer.
Kai and Ekofisk : No track details.Mirror Image might take it easy this run when fancied by one and all.
2.Fly me to the Stars : systematically brought down on handicap.Should easily account for this set as it mostly consists of horses which should have retired long ago.
La tremlo : though short of distance can place due to the poor field. One of Lagad's horsec
3.Star Crusader : Neeraj kept it way off the pace in its previous outing ,should be a sitter this time.
Dominatrix and City Tamer : Mutualy benifical decisions taken by trainers at race time will decide on WHO will try , though Dominatrix seems the better Horse.
Spiritual Flame should place by default.
Miles and More : C D Hayes will be out of depth.
3.Fantasy Lake , Sepia Tone and Rising Warrior.Winner is amongst these Three only and Two Horses will Definitely Place.Bet based on the odds at race time.
4.Schnell will find it tough this time.Can be a GOOD negative Bet.
Strathendrick , Generalissmo,Spica and Wafadar can be considered for Betting.
Deleecious will find the distance sharp.Oprah ignored as it is coming after a long layoff and without track work.
6.Handsome Returns and Matata Pride.One of these Two will emerge the Winner.
Rest of the field will be in the fray for Place only.

1.Dominatrix : previous run was a handy 4 th to Blue Vision.Since the outcome of the race was never in question the connexions might have taken it easy.Besides Appu did not try to try to go to the front in the initial stages of the race.Not seen in Tracks but SWIMMING record is visible.After losing a race as 80 paisa favorite WON at 20 to 1 in a terms race.Subsequently lost to TOTALITARIAN under controvesial circumstances ( related stables ) coming from way off the pace.Totalitarian today is highly rated.Next run Lost to fancied AQUADISIAC and this time Jockey took the Horse to the front deliberately and lost steam.Lost to another horse from Friendly stable.So has a good chance TODAY based on HORSE Merit.
2.Spiritual Flame : Has been running consistenly since the last mumbai season.Has the potential to score but one cant bet on the Horses from the Stable consistently as the intentions are always suspect.Would relish the distance and can come into the picture if the jockey is upto the task.

1.Solid Black , Walking Tall, Adallia
Walking Tall an impressive winner in last outing is running in the same class ,but Handicap seems to go against the Horse.Very Bonafide is a promotee and has the benifit of a Good Rider.But looks difficult.
Solid Black : Was unlucky last time , when the long shot Legal Eye beat it at the post.Has had some useful runs in pune and can strike if the Jockey is upto the task.
Adallia : is impressive in tracks.Genuine Long shot.
2.Flashing Flame , Ka Ching ,Chardin.
The ever consistent FLAME has the chance to open his account belatedly.Ka Ching has run with quality opposition and is the second choice.Chardin can ONLY PLACE.
3.Vb Race.Premier Diva and Gracious Senorita are the main contenders.The first named has better saddle assistance and can strike.Eternal Spirit can place ahead of Bueno Aires which has been a non performer till date.
4.Passion in the Park : 3 year old running in 00 - 26 VB race is difficult to comprehend.CAN be a good negative bet.
Surmount can repeat as the penalty for the WIN is offset by the allowance Jockey.

First Race :
Spirit of Excellence ( siblings ; Livorno , Sea Storm ) Glorious Princess ( Sibling Spinoza ) and Spark of Isis on the basis of the track form can be expected to have a say in the finish. Pokeman Master can come into contention if one of these Three falter , as the Horse has the benefit of a race run.
Second Race :
VB race and hence entirely avoidable. On track form Replinish , Retro Queen and Star News , can be considered.
Third Race :
Reflection of Gold and Sunny Baba have better credentials than the rest of the runners.Another Destiny can place ahead of Last Sammurai.Rest of the runners can be ignored.
Fourth Race :
Marianella is a speedy customer and should easily pick up this race with ease .Good Companion and Whisper Valley can follow.
Fifth race :
Free Glider , Mac , Wile Wench :
The benefit of stronger saddle assistance can benifit Free Glider.
Mac being ridden by Jockey Qureshi , who is not usually associated with this stable might enable good odds.The Horse having run with much superior horses should place.Wile Wench must place by default.Illusive Girl as a favorite is a negative bet.

Saturday choices
These are my views on the Bangalore races scheduled for Saturday.
1.The Horses in contention are Aglitter,Casino Royal, Tactical Game and Orange Orchid.
Aglitter might find maximum support on the basis of the second to Samrat Ashok ( which Won again )But seeing the way the Trainer's Horses are performing , am not sure if they would even try for a Victory.
Casino Royal has been consistent and has been finishing on over 1200 mtr races.This trip should be ideal and place is a certainity.
Tactical Game : Is well bred and could enable the Trainer to open his account.Considering the poor set of runners and also relative Jockey Merit , this could turn t\out to be a big surprise.
Orange Orchid : can place if any of the above three falter.
Proud as a Peacock is ignored on jockey merit .Trainer may also not be interested.
2.Diamond Hunter , Pastiche , Hyacinth come into contention.
Two genuine class ONE horses are Diamond Hunter and Pastiche.
Pastiche is the youngster on the move and hence may be prefered.At the odds offered not worth a BET.
D.Hunter should place easily if unable to WIN.Stylish Bay is a class IV horse which has come up thro the Mysore route and hence ignored.
3.Amazing Forest may turn out to be the Winner.
Hidden Pleasures and Dark Horse may follow.Billy has negative change of equipment after a WIN and hence ignored.
4. Four Horses in Class IV race from Trainer Lokanath is a surprise.
Go Go Boy , She's Big , Regal Dream and Princess Emily have better credentials than the other runners.Betting only based on the ring prices at race time as the Uncertainity is not likely to get cleared until then.
5.Negative Bet is on Mark of Gibraltar.Irrespective of the Pedigree and Track work , Horses on debut should not be fancied to such an extent as the youngsters race looks open .
On a Roll , Royal Player , Clouseau , Monarchial and Safari are all in with a chance.I would go with On a Roll and Clouseau.
6.Southern Instinct , Bastian bay , Lightin Blues and Jersey Splendour.
Lightin Blues can be ignored for WIN.Any one of other three can score.Freemason might not even place.
7.Sporting Master : Days Best. Previous run with Babu showed the potential and if we go back to summer races , We see that the Horse has run alongside Passion to Perform.With the Benifit of a run and good saddle assistance must WIN with ease.
Place hopefuls are : Milford , Lush Foliage and Andronicus.
River Island looks very difficult over a sprint.Lush Foliage after the set back has improved and seems a place certainity. If any Horse can Upset it has to be LUSH Foliage.

choices 4 Mumbai races
These are my choices for the day :
1.Race restricted to Pebble beach and Kempinski with the Latter having a slight edge based on the handicap and saddle assistance.
Peaches and Cream is the only recent Winner but quality handled earlier was too poor and hence cant figure in this bunch.
The only Horse which could upset is Rhapsody in Red.
2.Maybach , Game of Power & Simply Perfect are the ones in with a chance to WIN.
Maybach lost the earlier outing in the betting as the Horse from a friendly stable had to WIN.Can recover the lost reputation in this race.However will have to contend with Simply Perfect from Antia who seems to be firing from all cyclinders this season.The horse is attractively placed in the scales and can make it a start to finish affair.Game of Power is definitely superior to all the Horses in the Race but the distance might be the undoing.Can place.
3.Nara , Cindrella Man , Northern Prince and Binee come into contention.
The youngster Nara has run with much superior Horses but is not very regular in the tracks and races.With good saddle assistance can Win this VB race.
Cindrella Man has change in stables and based on the earlier Runs should place.
Northern Prince is the Joker capable of a big upset.Entrusted to F.Irani purely to obtain good odds the Horse on the basis of the last Two Runs has the best chance to Score.Only issue is Jockey Merit.
Binee is a Horse which usually does not get a level start.If the Horse is able to get even start , will definitely Place.
4.Call to Arms , Star Girl , Fire Foot and Crespo .
Five furlong race can be very tricky and if the front runner is speedy , it is very difficult to catch up.
Call to Arms is speedy but the handicap may go against the Horse.
Star Girl : A well bred Horse which has been consistent earlier.With the benifit of better saddle assistance can WIN .
Fire Foot and Crespo are promotees but are capable of springing a surprise.
Elemento Angel is the One for the Upset.
5.Enceladus has the best credential to score.If the Horse is unable to score due to the heavy impost then Haifa Victory and Blazing speed who are well placed on handicap come into the reckoning.
6.Knight has seen better days and should score.
Victor , Arabian Hero and Naseebdar for the minor placings.
7.Home to Home , Pacific Zone , Rising Dream and Cocaine.
Arabian Guest , Sphinx and Sara jahan are ruled out on account of relative Jockey merit.
Cocaine seems a Good each way bet as the Horse has the benifit of a race run.Pacific Zone is a negative WIN bet.Should easily place.

Though Romantic Scene is a Youngster the lack of preparation in Mumbai could go against the filly.

seems wide open.Small chance on Grand Stand and Southern Summit.Artistic Liason is tracking well but it seems Queens Guest is the choice of the stables.Lil Miss Sunshine can be a good negative bet if it is installed as the favorite.

Council of Gods , River Dancer , Siberian Siren.
Fourth Race :

Friday race choices
1.Amazing Flora , Night Light , Hard Cash.
Hard cash was impressive last week BUT in a VB race and runs on Promotion and hence it is not going to be easy.It can WIN but running at short notice is not easy that too on Promotion.
Amazing Flora has been brought down systematicaly on handicap and is in with a better chance to score.The last run was also against quality opposition and hence has better credentials.
2.Open race and it would be Wise not to back all MAM horses ridden by Prakash particularly at very low odds and in Maiden races.Snow Prince is very well bred compared to the rest of the field but upsets do happen.
MAN United or Sarang ( same stable ) Little Splendour and Born to Shine can shine.the last named is tracking well and could be the one to watch out for.
3.Auchinlech , Jazz Dancer, National Trust.
The Speedy Panchakshari is the best Horse in this bunch but coming from a very unrelibale stable.Based on the previous run Should canter to Victory , but this Horse performs only at Longer odds.Might reverse the trned tomorrow but not worth a BET.
National Trust has negative change in equipment , which could be misleading.At times memorial plates are avoided by the MAM camp and based on the betting trends at race time the appropriate decision could be taken.
Auchinlech has been an under performer and is a place certainity .

BS is a good each way betting proposition.Axara can place as it is speedy and has competed with some quality horses earlier.

these are my selectons for the race day.

Brezhnev seems to be favorably placed on the scales and hence the choice.Eternal Spirit needs strong saddle assistance which was found wanting on Sunday.So could be in contention on Thursday.Try your luck is good but if it a fast paced race may find it difficult to WIN at this weight.

Key to relax is the only Horse which can Relax as there would be no betting activity.
Red Key Point can pay Dividend if the connexions decide to Maximise and Lanchashire are expected to be the favorites.So the best thing is to avoid a bet and watch the race or enter the race course after the First race.
Second Race : Tigina has been very consistent in the monsoon season and can be considered if above 4 to 1. Below those odds not worth a Win Bet.
AMONTILLADO is very speedy and can finish ahead of Fancied stable mate Bundle of Roses.
Third race ; Habituated should end the losing streak tomorrow or else it could be sent to the most competitive racing centres ie Delhi / Kolkatta.True Force looks like a place certainity

Saturday Race Selections
Following are my preferences for the day .
1.Classic Movements , Hard Cash ,Crimson Orchid.
Bad race with Awesome Fighter Choclate Brownie Orange Orchid and Record Time having NIL Chances.Among the rest , these could be considered based on prevailing odds.
2.Reflection of Gold , Alcmene , Pleasant Glory.( long shot Freedom Fighter )
The First named is very very impressive in the work outs and May have a say in the Finish.Pleasant Glory has impressive bloodline and the Stable has a very good record in races framed for youngsters.ALCMENE is also well bred and the dam has given some good sprinters.
3.Good competive race with many contenders.The Four Foriegn Jockeys should be involved in the finish.Asiaticus has the benifit of a run and can fight it out with Bountiful heights.Chilly Wind is looking good and can Upset.
4.Cascabel, Star of Excellence ,Ciampino.Choice of Jockey rule out many other contenders.
5.Chief's Dream , Stafire , Noble Guest , Alandra.
Chief's Dream has the class to over come the handicap disadvantage.Stafire can run close though the distance looks sharp for this Horse.Noble Guest has the handicap in its favour.Can strike if the connexions decide to.
6.Green Bax , Lady One , Hesperus.
First named has the benifit of a run but has not WON in Bangalore for a long time .Can overcome that Jinx.Jersey Pride from the same stable has the scales against it and looks very difficult for place also.Sugar Brown has negative change in equipment and hence ignored.Mercurial has only the Mysore performance to go by and not sure if it can beat all seasoned campaigners.Lady one has the services of a New Jockey and hence a bet on His First Mount in India is avoidable.The Horse is good.
7.Briannsta Look Alike and Star Blue have better credentials than the rest.
8.Scintillating Style , Candance, Kemrock and Dock of Bay.
Scintillating Style has been a late finisher in its earlier runs.Has the potential to score.Good each way BET.
Kemrock was sacrified in its previous run and hence i would ignore it this time inspite of the merit.Dock of Bay has had a controvesial career till date and can/may WIN but avoidable for these very reasons.
Candance should PLACE based on its earlier run.
Good each way bets : Reflection of Gold , Asisticus , Cascabel , Chief's Dream.
Place hopefuls : Noble Guest , Freedom Fighter , Ciampino , Look Alike.
Long shot : Classic Movements.

7 horse field with 3 runners from Jodha.It looks open though Artillery might be fancied ahead of the best based on the timings clocked in pune.But the change of Ownership and Stables does not convey a positive impression.Hence avoidable bet for WIN.Alaskan Zone and Item bomb have not been streched in Pune and can finish ahead of Artillery.Stubbs is capable of an upset.Chopsani Malasi and Attia in Sunlight can be ignored.

Sunday Mumbai races
MAM and Company might have to do with 3/5 races or 2/5 only.Most web sites , race books and newspapers would give 5/5 which seems a bit far fetched.
On the whole a pretty bad card framed.The poonawala family would want to garner all glory at the cost of good racing and one can expect the Mystcial race to be shown on the closed circuit TV a thousand times.Though the official Card states 9 races , the actual races are 4 , with 5 races having less than 8 runners and one race for VB Horses.The three competitive races are all that We can look forward to.
1.Catalunya , Firey Future , Pheonix Rising , touch and go between these three horses.At best Hitz can place.
Pheonix Rising's last run was so uninspiring and it was obvious that the Owners were not interested in Winning.So it is better to avoid a bet on this Horse as favorite .The Horse is very well bred but intention to WIN may not be there.Catalunya's pune runs have to be ignored as it was meant to reduce the handicap.
2.Mountain Bear starts as Favorite and has the capability to WIN.Has been unlucky so far in all its three pune runs for various reasons. Strawberry Fields is appearing in racetracks after 3 months but is classy enough to match strides as Her
Conqueror GRUZEI is competing in CLASS 1 race later on in the day.
Queen of the Turf : Not in the same league as the others but is capable of a upset.

3.Secret Memory has oodles of class but I get the feeling that the scales are not in His favour tomorrow.But a Small field so the chances of WINNING are good.

7.Bourbon King is giving weight but quality of opposition is very very poor.
Perpetuity can come in the dividend payout list.
8.Southern Empire losing to Storm regent a class 3 Horse and then beating Hyderabad based horses which had no merit whatsoever does not carry enough conviction , that too at 60 giving 10 kilos to the rest. Less than 50 pasia woth GOBBLING.

Bangalore Classic race day
these are my views for the day.
1.a VB race which bears a Open look and there by scope for some last minute arrangements amongst those who have a stake in the race.From the looks of it , Nice Guy , Royal Flynn , Nice Guy and Majority wins should be involved in the finish.
2.Exclusive Grey might open at very low odds as the case with Scenic Melody today.At the odds offered 95 % of Punters dont bet and so lets not give the tag of the days best , sure shot winner etc.,
On a Roll and Safari can provide some competition. I would have a each way bet on On a ROLL and a place bet on Ready to Mingly simple because the Horse has run with Excl Grey earlier.
3.VB Race , comments in race 1 above hold good.Everything Nice , Pretty N fast do appeal to me.
4.Astounding Blue :Based on the run in race 9 , where in the Horse came in with a flourish towards the end after languishing in the wrong end of the field , should coast to a easy victory.Unfortunately the odds might not be very appealing to many punters.The only possible reason for the Horse to lose could be due to a very poor ride from the jockey.John was miserable last time and if Hayes tries something similar He might have to go back .
Sangini and Replinish should follow.
Sangini has been one of the most consistent Horses and is the only possible threat.
5.Honestly though we have limited options , picking the right horse in this race seems to be a tough task.If the link on Everything's nice , Graphic Design and Command Performance is seen in the right context , GD may look like a Winner.Awesome Beauty and Baffled are no pushovers and if the odds are favorable the Trainers would have a go at it.But as Favorites ( 2 to 1 and below ) they are not worth a BET.
6.Punters are tired of following Alchesaye and the total cost of betting incurred as of date - ie 4/5 times cannot be recovered even if it WINS.Last time there was some interference but I would hesitate to bet on this Horse.if it Wins One could consider a Bet in the next outing.Until then I would take a chance each way bet on South Paradise and Char Chand for Place.
7.With Just 3 GENUINE Horses in the fray OPTIONS are Very much limited.
Class VB non winners appearing in classics is a insult to the racing public.Fitness of Woman on Top is a issue and the Horse trailed the field in Mysore.So unless there is major improvement in its form , looks like Passion to Perform and Wonder to Smile would fight it out.I dont see Hyderabad result repeating here.

Suave , Serious Warrior , Easy , Hakuna Matata.
Pillar of Gold is not a consistent and reliable Horse and hence not a Safe Bet
If ATTAOLLAHI is unable to taste sucess on Suave in this race , it should be pack up time.
Serious Warrior looks to me as the safest BET Tomorrow for place.( Mumbai 4 Place payouts )
9.Wonder Falcon may have to wait for another day to score.Arabian Memories , ANNA Fleetwood and Allegro are all in with a decent chance to WIN.
Command Performance might upset.

not a very impressive and competitive card .These are my views :
1.Race is restricted to PINAAKINI , SCENIC MELODY and NEAR N DEAR.In case any of these three falter RUDIMENTARY can come into the picture.
Each way bet on PINAAKINI and a Place bet on Near N Dear are worth Considering.
2.Pastiche , In the Zone.
Logan's run would have been a better bet but for the negative change in equipment .
3.Agassiz ,Angel field, Sontag Etoile.
M.Easwar trained Agassiz has the best credentials to score.The only negative factor is the ODDS and the JOCKEY.The odds on the Horses from the stables junp from from 1.5 to 10 very often and at closing time the Place Odds itself would be 2 to 1.With good odds and the right money flowing in can score.
4.Need of the Hour , Perfect Tribute , South Star.
South Star is classic potential but may be need more than 8 furlongs to prove its mettle.Need of the hour is capable of springing a surprise at this handicap.Perfect Tribute is looking good in tracks and should place.Mysore WINNERs are best ignored.

First day Mumbai races
Hi all ,
First day of the racing season and the small card of 7 races shouldgo as per form and class for most of the events.Also with limitedrunners in the fray the scope for some long shots winning seem remote except for the races framed for the youngsters.These are my choices ;
1.Hot Stepper 2. Astraea 3. Avec Plaisir
The First named is very impressive and regular in tracks and should WIN this 7 furlong race.The colt was unlucky last time and that was mainly on account of the top handicap .Having run some game races earlier should be able to put across the other contenders.
Astraea has nothing wrong till date and should be involved in the finish.AvecPlaisir has also competed with these two horses earlier and is theonly threat.
2.OASIS Star : Clear Winner
.Regal Reform can follow the WINNER , though this Horse has lost to Aquadisiac over 1800 metres in their previous meeting.
3.Oyster Princess , Sharp Memory , Siroco.
Recollection has beaten very poor set of Horses and CAN at best PLACE
Oyster Princess has been running with top notch Horses and can strike if the Jockey is upto the task
4.YANA , Red Indian ( Jockey is a Issue but worth a Risk ) Raquel,Arkhos.
Seems to be quite open race but YANA on the basis of Pedigree and the manner of Victory in its last outing should be able to tackle this bunc with ease

Saturday Bangalore Races
Hi all,
Initial thoughts :Bookies day out , with 5 races framed in class IV and V.
Many non performers in the field which means most races could see unfancied winners.
These are my choices.
1.Queen of Speed , Classic Movements ,King of Good times ( upset Land of Smiles)
Aglitter as a Favorite does not impress , inspite of the good bloodline.
2.Youngsters race ; as always Most runners have a decent chance to score.My bets would be restricted to these three depending on the odds offered.
Freedom Fighter , Monarchial and Fly for sure.
Music on demand has the services of a good jockey and excellent pedigree and may WIN but does not impress me .
3.Casino Royal , Shisham , Don Cherry.
SHISHAM and Casino Royal seem to be evenly matched.
4.Kemrock , Amazing Flora and Couelle.
Stanza Starry was blatantly hooked last time and might have to wait for a long time to come into the reckoning.
5.Wile Wench , Bee for you and Seize the Night.
Rapido Gonzalves has negative equipment change and hence avoidable.
6.Suave , Rio Bravo and Snob Value.
Zanzara might be fancied but coming into the races after skipping Mysore season and hence not considered.
7.Alandra , Lion heart.
The classic contenders are best avoided .The odds on southern charge does not merit a POSITIVE BET. .
8.Andronicus , Touch me Honey , Bliss.
Purely on the Jockey Merit , Andronicus should WIN with authority.
9.Splendid Glory ,Faction Leader , Amazing Forest

Monday race choices
Hi all ,These are my choices for the day .
1.Orochi 2.Muscat Ranger.
Orochi has been in the waiting list for long and if the Horse after itsrun in the classic does not finish ahead of the other 4 tomorrow , might not see the Winning post for a long time.
Sir Onslaught looks difficult on handicap though it can come into the reckoning if the others tire out.
Muscat Ranger should be prefered over Portpatrick
2.As always the YOUNGSTERS event will be an OPEN race
Dash on Regardless , Global Emperor and Lady Patrica are the Ones which i prefer ( not in any order as such )
CABOCHON could end up as the favorite.Not ruling out its chances as most of Her siblings have done well in Mumbai.
Power Play may place ahead of Amasing act.
3.Classic Cruise and Rudolph Valentino seem to be evenly matched.Though RV would ideally do well over 1400,cant rule out a good run in this race, as there is regular track work and change of equipment. Most of the others are there for an airing.
4.BAD race.
Ripples, Chalukya and Rubinella are the ones capable of WINNING.
5.Jet Express , Bundle of Roses and Flash Flares . Close contest expected.
6.Bad Race.
Fever Few and The BEE will PLACE. unable to identify the Third Horse.
7.Hot Seat , Bentota and Madho.It would be advisable to avoid Ujjaini in this race.
Watch out for these Trainers : Prasad , N Rao and Srinivas

A competitive card of 7 events framed for the second day and hopefully Horses with class and form should strike.
First race :
Mystified : Can place , a Win @ this handicap looks doubtful.
Power Punch : Is well bred and has been involved in races with superior Horses, but the change of equipment from ALUMINIUM to Steel is a bit of a bother.If Lightning Blues is fancied and backed by the connexions , this Horse is likely to back off due to confict of intrest.
Candance is tracking well but the choice of jockey is an issue and the Trainer is a bit of a mystery.Als this Horse has run only TWICE in the past ONE year.That itself indicates some setback.MAY WIN / CAN WIN but not worth backing Horses for WIN from this stable.
Firey Business and You and I : both are regular in the work outs and could be in contention for place.
Win Bets are Avoidable in this race.
Second Race : Limited choices

South Paradise is the Only WINNER ,however No track since previous run on 29/07/2007.Very strange.
Movie Queen : is in with a good chance due to the limited opposition.However if it is backed down as favorite better to avoid.
SHENANDOAH : One could get to see the Colors of Vijay Mallya after a Long hiatus.But the Victory if acheived will be on account of the very very poor opposition and not on account of the efforts of the Stable / Trainer.The Sire Brave Act is also not very sucessful.
Some support could come in for the Two Horses Owned by the Yespee Racing Syndicate.Chisty is the Declared rider for this syndicate ( irrespective of the trainers : Puttana / Lokanath / Ponappa / Dhariwal ) and hence True Confidence could be considered for Place though the Track Work since last run on 28/07 is not available.
Place Bets on Movie Queen and True Confidence if it is above EVEN.Win on SHENANDOAH only if it is above EVEN.
Third Race :
Spirit of China - Jockey Suraj Narredu had a good blank record on Friday and could erase the memory with a WIN astride this Horse which is well bread and tracking well.
Double Elite and Manthara have been consistent but based on handicap , Manthara seems a decent place bet.
Southern Chieftan : Poor record till date .But has the class to Win with ease. Should place.
Astounding Blue : Was fancied ahead of Southern Chieftan when they had clashed earlier in bangalore.Enrusted to a Jockey who is capable of bettering the performance.CAN UPSET.

Upper Crust is carrying high expectations and should not dissapoint.
Aura and Diamond hunter can the only Horses which can threaten the Winner.

Ocean Crest – With Jockey Chisty carrying 59 kgs , the Horse is unlikely to succeed .
Soberano and My Friend Paul are better betting propositions for EACH way.
Serious Warrior can place though it is a Promotee.
Most of the others in the fray can be ignored for absence of Jockey merit.
Sixth Race :
Dancing Highness – was thought off highly after Winning 2 consequetive races but lost meekly in the last outing.Capacity to run 8 furlongs with Appu astride and at 58 kgs is suspect. Avoidable bet.
Wonder Smile : After gifting races to favorable stables the Horse picked up a race at the close of the summer season.This got abroad filly's potential is untested and can WIN subject to the willingness of the Jockey.
Our Little Savage : Good horse , however consistency is not maintained by the stable particularly when MAM horses are also in the fray. Decision to back the horse would depend on the ring prices.
Romantic Scene :
Was asked to do to much in the previous outing .Earlier had beaten Local Warrior from a friendly stable which subsequently went on to WIN 2 races . Negative is the STEEL SHOES , as the Horse has done well running with Aluminium shoes only. Trainer is already under a cloud and until the final decision is taken on the matter , might like to lay low. AVOIDABLE BET even for place.
ARABIAN Knight :
Won with a measure of comfort but the opposition was nothing great.has a good chance based on Handicap.Dhairwal has at least a few winners to his credit and with a talented Jockey astride can hopefully prevail.
Bets : Arabian Knight Each way. Our Little Savage place ( if Wonder smile odds are negative )
Last Race : ENFORCER has been knocking at the doors for a long time.Running in a handicap race for the First time and hence WINNING seems a bit doubtful.
Dock of Bay : another inconsistent horse from the notorious stable.If lucrative odds are offered will be in action.
Indian Swift : Tracking well and the handicap might enable the Horse to score.
Bets : Each way on Indian Swift and a small place chance on Char Chand.
Win Kainchi : Shenandoah – Spirit of china – Upper Crust – My Friend Paul.

Our Little Savage : Good horse , however consistency is not maintained by the stable particularly when MAM horses are also in the fray. Decision to back the horse would depend on the ring prices.
Romantic Scene :
Was asked to do to much in the previous outing .Earlier had beaten Local Warrior from a friendly stable which subsequently went on to WIN 2 races . Negative is the STEEL SHOES , as the Horse has done well running with Aluminium shoes only. Trainer is already under a cloud and until the final decision is taken on the matter , might like to lay low. AVOIDABLE BET even for place.
ARABIAN Knight :
Won with a measure of comfort but the opposition was nothing great.has a good chance based on Handicap.Dhairwal has at least a few winners to his credit and with a talented Jockey astride can hopefully prevail.
Bets : Arabian Knight Each way. Our Little Savage place ( if Wonder smile odds are negative )
Last Race : ENFORCER has been knocking at the doors for a long time.Running in a handicap race for the First time and hence WINNING seems a bit doubtful.
Dock of Bay : another inconsistent horse from the notorious stable.If lucrative odds are offered will be in action.
Indian Swift : Tracking well and the handicap might enable the Horse to score.
Bets : Each way on Indian Swift and a small place chance on Char Chand.
Win Kainchi : Shenandoah – Spirit of china – Upper Crust – My Friend Paul.
Place Kainchi : Lightnin Blues – true Confidence – Astounding Blue – Soberano.

First Day : Betting Options
Hi all ,
The Winter seasons starts off as a very low key affair with very few participants being seen on the first day.Bangalore races are very competitive and it is difficult to predict the outcome of the races in advance as most races are keenly fought or easily gifted .The indications are usually available only during race time
( depending on the drift in the odds and other factors)
As always it is advisable to avoid playing any Horses which offer less than EVEN money odds as the chances of those Horses Losing the seem to be on the higher side.It is not that Favorites Lose but the On Money Favorites Winning is not very often seen in the Winter Season particularly in Handicap races.The Classic races and Class I races though do not see many upsets.With a lot of youngsters in the fray this season , it makes betting all the more uncertain.It would pay to follow the following trainers ;
J.S.Dhariwal and Micheal Easwar ( at odds of 5 to 1 and above only )
Samar Singh , Ponappa , R.R.Byramji ( well backed Horses )
along with the Ganapathy's.
There are a lot of expectations from Padmanabhan and Irfan Ghatala but i get the feeling that they would not be as sucessful as the above mentioned trainers are.
Before i start with my views on the opening day races , I wish all of You a very sucessful season ahead.
1 st race : Selections from major newspapers , race books and web sites , point to just Three horses which i feel are based more on the Jockey merit.Not that the Three horses prefered are bad BUT most races meant for youngsters throw up surprises and It would be a good idea to restrict bets in these races.Coming to race itself ,
Iam not impressed by the few trackworks of Thumping Victory and it looks difficult for place also.Different Opinion has some decent work outs and and has a pretty decent chance to score .
Poetic is well bred but Winning chances are looking DIM .
Samar Singh has Two Mounts and I expect One of them to be in the reckoning based on recent track work.Would go with the Horse ridden by Paswan.
Exclusive Grey and Chinab are not likely to be fancied since the Jockeys are not the First choice of the Owner/Stables but track work is impressive and one could consider them for place at Longer ODDS.
2nd race :
Free Glider , Zangi and Briannsta : Iam not looking at Neil Darashah's Horses as both of them had performed miseraby in Mysore.Of the Two , Royal Retort has a small chance to place.Star Blue has no track after the bangalore season and hence ignored.For certain obvious reasons Oro Neiro is not likely to be in the limelight.
3 rd Race :
Pret a Porte , Appolo Crown , Life's Laughter.
The Force , Master Yoda and Kodava Fire are woefully out of form and depth and can be ignored.Star of Excellence is a very moody and unpredictable Horse and it can only place by default if one of the above three are unable to make it.Cascabel might need a run to prove its credentials .
4 th race :
Mam's Smart chieftan , Mystical and Southern Empire have all WON a handicap race in bangalore prior attaining sucess in the Mumbai classics.
Bourbon King the multi classsic Winner is facing some good but older opponents , who are otherwise very fit and competent.Should WIN with ease.
Hesperus is capable of leading the charge against the King.
I would take a chance and eat the favorite if it is at around 35 paisa.It is suicidical and I might lose eventually but worth a negative bet at these odds.
5 th race :
Fantabulous Prince and Feel Free , are my choices as Asiaticus does not impress me due to inconsistency and lack of recent race record.The positive change on Fantabulous Prince does indicate the willingness to strike but VIVEK is usually opted for horses with low handicap and iam not very confident of the chances though the Horse is well merited.
Feel free should be in the Money if FREE GLIDER comes good in the 2 nd race.
RED Mustang has run with better quality opposition, but the abscence of a race gallop is a cause for concern.
Chief's Dream has come down on handicap and has a good chance.
6 th race :
ALCHESAYE should WIN this race , though the choice of the jockey is a worrisome factor.The horse needs very strong saddle assistance.
LGS has negative change in the Shoes and hence should be ignored.
Proud of a peacock was a failed gamble in summer and should place by default as 4 of MAM horses and Mister Trooper have lost all chances for even place due to jockey selection.
Hope all of you have a good start to the season.
