HI ALL
It has been a long time since this Blog was activated and it has been a very humbling experience as I did not expect to be here for so long .I have always felt that when you do not Enjoy what is being done , it is time to Stop.I continue to post my views not because I have to but as I love to.
It has been my intention to give my HONEST views of the Races and at the end of the day if a few persons have benefited ,I do feel good.
Being a blog dedicated to Horse racing , it is no doubt MONOTONOUS with the usual Choices being dished out at frequent intervals.The main objective being to give a balanced view on the races on a regular basis.I have tried my best to ensure that the reviews are done on time so as to facilitate those who visit the blog.Many a time the posts are ahead of schedule and some last minute thoughts and changes are left out.I would definitely try to correct this by updating my posts on the race day.
There are several bloggers who post their views on this sport on a regular basis and each one has a particular way of expressing his views on the matter.It is indeed very difficult to find common views as each one has a different method by which the Horses are shortlisted.HONESTLY it would be nightmare , if were to go through the various blogs and then BET on the races as it only leaves the Punter confused.It is also very rare to see COMMON views spread across all these blogs.Decisions at race time have to be made based on the Individual perceptions and judgement.All those visiting these blogs must realise that it is YOUR money that is at stake and the final call is YOUR decision.It is not fair to go by opinions and views expressed and then trying to attribute motives , when the bet is not successful as most of us are doing it for the passion for the sport without expecting anything in return.
I do admit that many a time my reasoning and logic do go wrong as the sport itself is full of uncertainty.It is not that We have the Magic Wand , by way of which We Can predict the results of the races in advance.Most of us are also regular punters and do feel feel frustrated when the end result is not to our liking.We could shift the blame on various forces , as is usually the case , but at the end of the day , what matters is that Eventual Official Result and the Dividend Payout.Trying to find fault with those concerned does not help in recovering the Bet amount.
The options are limited , either to stop or try to come up with some thing better.There has been the usual ups and downs in this period , with reference to the eventual outcome of the race , as compared with the Selections.If one were consider the overall perspective , I would consider my self to have done a reasonable Job during the year 2008.
People do have the impression that I carry some preconceived notions on certain horses, jockeys and owners and insist that I give my views in an unbiased manner , leaving the final call to the Punter.
At times the blog post is very long and tedious and tends to be boring.A few of the viewers like the Posts to be Short and Precise.At the same time , detailed explanations are also demanded if the Selections are not in line with market expectations.But many a time it is also seen that Visitors want the Horses to be named and make known their displeasure if only General comments are offered without shortlisting the Horses.
A balance has to be maintained between the TWO and i hope to be consistent in future.
I like to keep my blog a bit attractive and pleasing to the eyes.It is my goal to give all the blog a face lift at regular intervals and at the same time striving to improve the content and other options offered.Functionality of a blog is very important.The sidebar is a big part of any blog and it reflects on the personality of the Blogger and the Blog Widgets in this Blog reflect this .I have ensured that Advertisements do not form part of the viewing experience.
In spite of being around for so long , i have not met many of those who visit the blog though i interact with them regularly.I hope to meet a few of them in the coming year at least.
I am not a person who tries to make resolutions for the year ahead.But ,if i had to change one particular aspect of my thought process , it would be to cut down on my negative comments and try to look only at the positive aspects.
Praising / Critizising after the races is the easiest thing to do .Constructive criticism is always welcome and it would be my pleasure to reply to each one of them.
We do start off 2009 shortly and in case any of you would like to incorporate changes in the Blog Content / style , do let me know .I would be glad to keep all those suggestions in mind for the Future.

Hyderabad : Monday races
With many favorites obliging on Sunday , it was hyderabad racing at its best .
We had 3 Winners at odds at which not many punters BET
( less than .40 paisa ) .Two Horses won at reasonably good odds but confidence levels were not very high on account of various factors .
All said and done it was a bad day for those who thrive , when upsets are the order of the day.
Small card of 7 events are framed for MONDAY and some of the races are indeed competitive and hopefully , racing patrons can hope to get better odds for the Winners.
1.Trainer Vatsalya and L Dilva have dominated the race for youngsters and the same is expected to continue in the first race.
Chestnut Charmer has got lots of initial speed but will need time to mature and run over longer distances.At present it is good over 1100 only.
EL PASO and Music Valley are my choices and bets would be based on race time odds.
2.Green haven was one of the Longest priced WINNERS , ever in Hyderabad and is at Bottom Handicap.It WON when least expected. Can it repeat when it starts as a fancied runner ??
Hurricane Bay : My choice for a Each way bet.Has done well recently with this Jockey .
Power play's last run was unbelievably BAD. Unless it is confirmed as was a one off BAD day , difficult to take a call .If it does well here , one can consider for the future.
Commander Moial , genuine on class but late finishing types .May need more distance.Chance BET.
3.VANEN BURG / JAAN BAAZ
Both the horses from Srinivas can be ignored over this distance.
VANEN BURG has been a disappointment this season and has a chance to redeem.However is has the habit of starting off late from the gates.Jockey is a bit of a bother but due to limited options One can ignore these negative factors and can go for a E / W Bet.
Cherokee Fighter is not sighted in the tracks and hence not worth a bet. ( Ruffiano was a wrong choice on SUNDAY as it also did not have recent tracks. I missed that )
4.Cannon Scot / Mr Chief / Jet Express.
The first named has the class to romp home in style.Distance is looking sharp but with Christopher to guide its fortunes , some strong saddle support should see it through.
Jet Express packed up in its earlier outing in the lower class as the weights had a bearing .Should be involved in the finish.
Mr Chief , usually a front runner , may find this trip to its advantage.
5.Sugar lady / Bon Fire / Grand Act.
It may be very difficult for SUGAR LADY to lose here.
Others will be in the also ran category.
6.Play it Smart / the Scot / King in the Sky.
Going for some long shots , as most of the runners here have no recent form.
7.Indian Archer ( no track for past 1 month )

Golconda 2000 guineas race day
My choices for the day are as follows ;
1.Mr Don / Menlo Park / Casablanca.
Mr Don is looking very good for place and hence each way bet can be considered.
Menlo park is likely to start as favorite based on its earlier showing.Should WIN but may be at low odds.
Casablanca had finished 4 th in previous outing and should improve on that.
Meritorious is the upset commodity.
IMAAN does not impress.
2.Ruffiano / Aphrodisiac / Sccbarioo.
One more chance for Ruffiano to make amends.
Debutant Aphrodisiac is tracking well , may place.
Scubarioo , can only place .
YANAMARIA may find it difficult as it has participated with some ordinary horses.
3.CHAMATKAR should WIN.
Only other horse with a chance is ROYAL CODE.
Hardccore may place .
4.Madho / Kodos / Jay Jay
others in the field have no chance whatso ever.
5.Armstrong / Dark Desire /Realtor.
Nano War's winning streak is likely to END here.
Armstrong with apprentice Jockey is looking good on handicap.Should easily place.
Dark Desire has not been extended on earlier occassions.Should be in contention for the TOP 2 spots.
Realtor will only place .
6.Flying Rudolph : Doing My best : Auxiliary / Khaleels' pride.
Class 1 Race .The sprint distance may be difficult for Coral Gables .
Auxiliary has been Winning regularly even at top weight and has beaten most contenders here.Will start as favorite.Draw 1 may lead to her downfall .
Doing my best should place here by default.Jockey is not used to WINNING but worth a each way PUNT.
Flying Rudolph is capable of springing a surprise.
7.Al Awal / Sprint Champ / Grey Shot.
SWpriint Champ packed up in 1200 mt race.Should easily do well here.
Al Awal has lots of initial speed and can out run the rest of the field if saddle support is good.
Grey SHOT is the LONG SHOT for the day.
8.Reconnect has a good chance of Winning this classic.
Sound of Nature has not been tried over this distance.Should place as rest of the field is poor.
Carte Blanche ; pathetic performance in the handicap race losing as Odds on favorite.With level weights can do well here.
IAEPETUS : A PLACE Bet for the JOCKEY MERIT would be in ORDER.

DANCING Highness for Hyderabad Silver Vase
First day ( Special race Day ) post vaccination did see many surprises.Many races saw the fancied Horses showing little interest in the proceedings.The after effects of the vaccination or due to recession ( Trainers and Owners not in good finances , there by not interested ) is difficult to guess.Nothing to take away the credit of the WINNERS who all had the credibility to score.
Saturday results are likely to by form save the odd race .We do have a large card of 9 events scheduled and these are my picks for the day ;The first Three races have only observations and visitors to the blog can look for cues during race time to shortlist the horses.
1.Race for 2 YEAR old's.
It is always prudent to go with a clear mind on these races as Most of the youngsters have let down the punters who blindly follow stables / owners / trainers / jockeys / pedigree.
Having said that it is important to see the track work and ensure that the gate manners of these youngsters are good enough to merit a BET as invariably , some of them are slowing off or lack initial speed.
CAYENNE , Queens Collection , Rule of Attraction and Trillion Win are the horses which can be considered for betting based on race time ODDS.
2.VB race meant for Horses in the lowest category and in 80 % of these races , the fancied runners fail.Suffice to say that the Favorites in these races are to be avoided and in case a Good Horse is not found , stay away from betting.Small bets each way are the norm in all these races.
I fancy the Chances of Western Palace and Sensational Bay.
Excellent Ability having run alongside Fleeting Arrow , Gentle Knight and Fantastic Quest is now trying to pick stake money in VB races.may be fancied but when the Trainers have condemned it, it is not worth a BET , particulalry if running at Low odds.
3. Again 2 year old's running here.
Bourbon Boy has been unlucky or has no ability ?? is something which will get cleared in this race.
Mighty Monarch did place on debut but was participating with some poor horses.Can hope to go on start to finish affair.
Spark of Reverence , ( obsession of SPARK is something i am unable to understand.Owners start believing in the Names or Numerology rather than talent ) Tracking well , but MEDIOCRE jockey at the helm of affairs.
Hurricane Bolt , ordinary bloodlines ?? Well be prepared for the surprise.
Dream Park ; another TOMSK in the making.If Bourbon Bay is the favorite ,difficult to see this Trainer / Jockey attempting to WIN.
GYPSY Magic , stopped counting the siblings of this FILLy , who have gone one to reach higher Glory.A few duds were also seen.
4.Leading Lady , Gift of Achievement / Sweet Vengence .
( I Chisty is a disgrace ) but based on the last run , this horse looks superior in this race.It is another matter that Most of us do not bet on this mediocre Jockey if the Horse is the favorite.
the second named has been a let down , failing as favorite .With the Horse now the family property, one can Hope to see it placing here.
Sweet Vengence , lot of hype last time around.Now at better handicap.
Seven Star , margin of loss in all run was very HIGH.Not worth a bet.
Festino : good name ,that's all.

based on its previous run , Star Speed has to be given the first preference.
Desert Rule , gifted a race by friendly trainers / jockey's .Can at best come third Here.
Greens , place is certain .Can hope to upset.
fate of Most horses of trainer S.Singh are known in the betting.I am hoping that this horse would be tried and on that premise , it should place easily.
Spark of Gold ? has ability , but intent is not seen.
6.Sarmaidar / Simple / Forever Mark.
this race has a few non performers like Forever mark and Red Shift.If one is willing to look beyond them , it may pay dividends.
7.Dancing Highness / Mothers Pride / Fantastic Quest / Super Speed .
One always comes across these situations when CLASS is pitted against Handicap.
Class is usually permanent ( at least for 1-2 years ) and very rarely does mediocrity prevail in spite of having the advantage on the scales .But heavy imposts like ALEKONA @ 68 kgs rarely oblige unless the field is pretty bad.
If one goes through race 71 , it is evident that DANCING HIGHNESS was never TRIED.A half hearted attempt , a entry in this race at short notice ,gives the impression that it was being prepared with this event in mind.Looks GOOD.Dont foresee the distance being a issue at all.
Mothers Pride ; no class , pretty ordinary horse , always comes into the frame due to the low weights.
Super Speed ; start to finsh attempt may Pay dividends if the others are caught napping.
Fantastic Quest ; losing to PERPETUITY was a disgrace.How does one bet with confidence after such a humiliating defeat.
8.Rebellious / Smart n Special / Sunny Land / Dock of Bay.
This is a bad race .Though the options are limited due to many unfit horses in the fray.
Dock of Bay has changed stables and primarily the inconsistency must have had a bearing ont he decision.
Rebellious is always grazing the wrong end of the field till the home bend and then finishes on strongly towards the close.Should do well here.
Smart n Special is SPEEDY. 1100 would have been ideal but at this handicap , worth a PUNT.
Sunny Land , only race time odds give an indication on its chances.
9.Post Vaccination only BUCK PASS JUNIOR has been tracked.Even otherwise many of the contenders in this race , have not been tracked for a fairly long period of time.One of those GAMBLE races ??

Extra Day bangalore races : 26 / 12
These are my choices for the day ;
1.CINDY GIRL / GAMPU / AAJ TAK.
VB race and fancied runners should be rightly ignored.
The first named has been tracked recently giving the Impression that all's well .Shoould be a GOOD EACH way bet.
If Gampu takes a level start , it will definitely be in 1 - 2.
Royal Flynn can place if the weights are a burden for Aaj Tak.
Aspiring Seven cannot WIN.Can hope to only place.
Char Chand has run with better horses as a youngster but trainer has kept it in VB , to strike it at will.Last time objection was thrown out as the gamble was ON.This time it may be off.
2.Timeless Treasure / Fire Zone.
Timeless Treasure failed in last outing due to lack of saddle support.Can do better with C D HAYES.
Selvaraj gifted the race to Valiant Bay . Fire Zone with S De Souza may turn out to be a different proposition.Each WAY ON.
Kyles of Bute , not sure of its credentials.Not ruling it out but prefer to go with established runners over this distance.
3.Youngsters race looking very very open as most runners are tracking well.
TANZANITE and MYSTIC Quest appeal to me.
A place bet on Tanzanite and WIN / SHP on Mystic Quest should be profitable.
Alacrity is blazing the tracks and if the same is reproduced on track it would be very difficult to Beat.
4.Hill of Grace / One / Leopardino.
First named is tracking well and based on its earlier runs stands a decent cahnce to score with David Allan.
One has not been given due recognition due to the inconsistency.Horses which lose in the betting ring are risky to bet as One never knows the intention.
Leopardino should place HERE.
5.Aquitaine / Distinctly Ahead / Valiant Bay :
Upset Mighty Heart
very competitive race in the offing and several established runners in the fray.

Aspiring Seven cannot WIN.Can hope to only place.
Char Chand has run with better horses as a youngster but trainer has kept it in VB , to strike it at will.Last time objection was thrown out as the gamble was ON.This time it may be off.
2.Timeless Treasure / Fire Zone.
Timeless Treasure failed in last outing due to lack of saddle support.Can do better with C D HAYES.
Selvaraj gifted the race to Valiant Bay . Fire Zone with S De Souza may turn out to be a different proposition.Each WAY ON.
Kyles of Bute , not sure of its credentials.Not ruling it out but prefer to go with established runners over this distance.
3.Youngsters race looking very very open as most runners are tracking well.
TANZANITE and MYSTIC Quest appeal to me.
A place bet on Tanzanite and WIN / SHP on Mystic Quest should be profitable.
Alacrity is blazing the tracks and if the same is reproduced on track it would be very difficult to Beat.
4.Hill of Grace / One / Leopardino.
First named is tracking well and based on its earlier runs stands a decent cahnce to score with David Allan.
One has not been given due recognition due to the inconsistency.Horses which lose in the betting ring are risky to bet as One never knows the intention.
Leopardino should place HERE.

Christmas Day Choices
HI all,
these are my choices for the day,
1.Royal Embassy / Rudolph Valentino / Vijaysena .
La Lapitus will start as favorite to WIN based on its Earlier Victory and the run in the first classic of the season.I am skeptical as this run over 2400 is within a span of 20 days after the WIN over 2200 and also post vaccination.
Rudolph Valentino was moving impressively in the same race and relative handicap gives the horse a better chance.
Royal Embassy is a outright Stayer and may look to be short of class but many a times the horses are not allowed to run to potential and hence this RUN might give us a fair indication.Purely for the Jockey Merit and Staying Prowess , a each way bet is surely ON.
Vijaysena is looking good for place.
2.Davenport / Vijays Angel / Hundred Flowers .
First named should WIN this race with ease .Odds may not be above .60 based on its previous performance.
Vijay's Angel may have the services of a lesser known Jockey but has the ability to easily place amongst these Horses.

Earth Bender after Winning a Category II races impressively by 10 lenghts , is now made to run a Category III race ??? Cant understand the logic of the trainer nor the Handicapping adopted by the CLUB.
Golden Sabot has been consistently finishing 3 rd .Can hope to do better with the INFORM jockey.
Global Star has been warming up late in all his earlier runs giving the impression that a race upwards of a Mile is suited.
Montush's running pattern suggests that it will place Here.
6.Shikra / Hari Har Priya / John Galt.
True Fashion is at Top Handicap , no track work post vaccination.Ignored.
Shikra is slowly recovering Lost form and should be in the reckoning for the top spot.
John Galt , is speedy and also has the services of the stable Jockey .Good for Place.
Har Har Priya based on last run should place by default but if King of Habashe is tried then chances are slim.
Alchology and Colorful do not impress.

Just in case you missed this
A classic race was held on SUNDAY at the Chennai Race course and it resulted in ,
One more Dubious CLASSIC tally to the Southern Chieftan and his retainer Jockey.
Unfortunately the Videos of the race may not be available in public domain and the CLUB web site does not reflect the results of even the classic events , though they are won by their Most Important Member.We racegoers definitely miss seeing these classic horses at their best.
The timings clocked for this mile trip is 1.53.17 and a 1800 metres race WINNER in the lowest category ie - VB race in any other racing centre in india would have clocked the same timing if not better.Shows the pathetic state of affairs of the race club which at point of time was an imporatant land mark for all racing patrons.
Not that the conditions were bad to clock the bad timings .Most of the races held on the day reflected timings comparable with other race course's for the distance covered.Only this 1600 mts race was the exception , slower by a minimum 13 seconds.Was the pace of the race SLOW ??
With B.Prakash having a 100 % record in Chennai , i guess the Bookies are having a bad time settling Punters. However , the Tote collections for most races do not exceed Rs 500. Shows the popularity of the SHOW being enacted.Surprising for the past decade . Classic Winners from this Centre are not considered for the Invitation Races though they remain unbeaten at HOME.Punters across the country surely would like to watch these Guineas record holders in action.

Start of Mumbai racing season in February , unlikely
Seems doubtful if one were to go by this notification issued by the Maharashtra Government.
The Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC), which finds itself amidst the worst ever crisis period since its existence, will be forced to put on hold its plans of having a belated start of Mumbai racing season.
This comes in the wake of the a two-month ban on the movement of equines within the state enforced by the Maharashtra State Government’s Animal Husbandry Ministry through a notification issued on December 15.
The Animal Husbandry Department (Pune Region) had obtained blood samples from thoroughbred horses stationed at the Pune Race Course early last month after news of an outbreak of Equine Influenza surfaced.
These samples tested positive for equine influenza following which the state government initiated the steps of banning the movement of horses within the state.
Only a day before the government notification was issued, the RWITC management in consultation with the Western India owners and trainers had unveiled its plans to start movement of horses in the first week of January from Pune to Mahalaxmi Race Course.
Confirming this development to Mumbai Mirror, Additional Commissioner Animal Husbandry (Maharashtra) Dr VG Ramteke informed, “A Government Resolution (GR) banning the movement of equidae within the state has been notified on December 15 by Deputy Secretary Pranali Chitnis (Ministry of Animal Husbandry Maharashtra State).
The notification will remain effective for two months till February 15. Our department will notify the RWITC of this movement ban tomorrow (Monday).”

These are my views on the races ;
1.Belle Dancer / Boyance / Disco Flash.
the race should be restricted to the first TWO horses and Belle Dancer by virtue of having placed twice earlier may be able to finish ahead.May be available at odds of .70 or less and not my idea of a Good Bet.
Boyanace , each way seems a better option.
One One One may place if DIsco Flash is unable to shine.
2.Winning Strides / India Gate / Pygmalion
race looks open.
India Gate has a very good chance to upset.
Winning Strides last run should be ignored as the reins dropped during the race.
Pygmalion is the dark horse which can place at longer odds.
Queens Fortune is likely to be fancied but i do feel that it needs 1200 or more to prove its capabilities.
Ride to Glory has placed on both occasions and at best can hope to PLACE.
3.Maximise / OROCHI.
Orochi based on last run is expected to start as favorite having the advantage of weights over Maximise who is an experienced campaigner.
However , on genuine class MAXIMISE is the better Horse.
Bold Blast is capable of coming into contention for place if any of the above 2 are unable to make it.
4.Bon Fire / Freak Fantasy / Fusion Music.
Freak Fantasy is very speedy and stands a good chance to Score.
Bon Fire is looking good for place at bottom handicap.Can upset with a bit of LUCK.
5.Drum Dance / Zorbonaut / Recast .
Drum Dance was finishing on well in Asian Delight race and should do well here.
Zorbonaut is always a bit tardy at the start.If given a good ride , it is very difficult to catch up with the filly.
Recast may do well as it is attractively placed.
Bakersfield does not impress over this distance.
Artistic Emperor has changed stables and also looks difficult here.
6.Chief De Mission / Toofan Express / Fire Bender .
King Size's ideal race distance would be 1400 mts .Hence i would not give it much of a chance to WIN over a MILE.
Chief De Mission is the most consistent Horse in Hyderabad and is the late finishing types who would relish the mile trip.Jockey is a bit of a bother but PLACE is certain.
Toofan Express has good saddle support and should be in the first three by DEFAULT.
Regents Park has been a let down several times and never consistent.Besides this being a race with many quality horses in the fray , may struggle in spite of the relative handicap advantage.
7.Grand Act / Ujjaini / Jet Express.
Page Three is a front runner and has run with better horses but Jockey is unreliable.WIN looks difficult.
Grand Act may be short of class but has been consistent off late.Should be involved in the finish.

From the looks of it , Ice Breaker seems to be better than Fleeting Arrow.It may be difficult to Judge Two races based on the timings in the Guineas as the Pace of the race matters a lot , but finishing effort of Ice Breaker definitely seems to be Better.Not sure if they would Clash in the Winter Derby , but if they DO , I do feel that ICE BREAKER would have a slight egde over Fleeting Arrow.
Iam not ruling out a Third Horse coming into contention but between these TWO , Fleeting Arrow might finish behind Ice Breaker.

Harvins Guineas for FLEETING ARROW ??
Hi all,
The Second Classic of the Winter Season should see FLEETING ARROW romp home in style barring a mishap or a ill judged ride by the jockey.The Horse has Won in all its Starts at the Bangalore Turf Club and finished a close 5 th to Autonomy in Mumbai.The Horse has had a feel of the track recently when it WON a class 1 race after a long absence.However one must admit that , it was Lucky , as the Horse had lost almost all chances of a WIN after being denied a clear opening during the closing stages of the races.
It has beaten most of the horses which are in the fray, earlier on in Summer and on level weights it is going to be very difficult to upstage the Money Spinner from Trainer babu rao's stable as the scope for improvement from all the other Horses are limited to a large extent.I expect the Horse to be available at odds of .80 or above.
The Horses which can come within striking distance are ;
STAR PRESENTATION : Will be ridden by Y S Srinath who is well known for the powerful finishes.Won the Malakpet Classic at the Winning Post in similar fashion.The Mysore Derby run may have been a bit too early but it did finish a credible second.This Joint Ownership property of MAM Ramaswamy has a good chance to Place.
ARCHIPENKO : Has been the horse which has let down followers on several occassions in the short career.Most of the times , punters do get the impression that it lost due to DUBIOUS ride given by the Jockey.Suraj Narredu has ridden it Twice and once finished 2 nd to Fleeting Arrow.With a bit of Luck can try to upset.May be tardy in the absence of a race run this season.
ORIGINALITY : A horse with lots of potential.The First Win was with the rider boy Narasimha in the saddle.After being campaigned over the sprint distance , this filly was tried over a mile in the 1000 guineas and it finished a good second to Ice Breaker , under very Testing Conditions due to the weather.While the 1.5 kgs allowance may not make any difference , the very fact that it is being TRIED here against some COLTS does give the impression that the Horse has the POTENTIAL.Stable Jockey having preferred this Horse , one should give this FILLY a good chance to Strike here.
FANTASTIC QUEST : the Joker in the pack .IF Archipenko and Palazzio Sun can be fancied then F.Quest CANNOT be ignored.The last run was indeed pathetic as it lost to some ungenuine horses.But the pace of the Horse must have affected the performance.A Good 4 th to Set Alight in Summer and the Mysore WIN , indicates some MERIT.A Imran Khan partners this Horse and I do expect this horse to do well.
There is a lot of talk of Aristos , but i do personally feel that it would be out of depth amongst these experienced Horses.At mysore it has beaten some Class IV Horses.It WON a CLASS TWO race purely on HANDICAP as most of the Horses were conceding more than 6 kgs in race 20.At level weights it is not a easy task.Also the distance may prove to be a stopper.
Palazzio's Sun has Just one Win over Cassandra till date and hence ignored.
Able Associate has had a Hatrick of Wins but last win was laboured though at Top weight.
The others horses in the fray are not fancied due to the lack of sufficient class to take on the above mentioned horses.
I expect UNDUE to perform the task of the pace maker along with Mark of Gibralter.If these do not tire out , then One of them will be lucky enough to PLACE.
My Choices for the rest of the races are as follows ;
1.Fair Option ; Northern Splendour ; Sun Gold
MAM gets to pick up a Youngster's race after a long period through Fair Options.With as many as 4 Horses from his stables and the other 4 from friendly stables / mediocre Jockeys , it is likely to start at odds of .50 or below. I guess most punters wont be able to place a bet at these odds.The " S " equipment is still retained but that may not make any difference to the outcome of the race.
Sun Gold having had a race run to credit , in the same race as FAIR option has positive change of equipment and should easily place.
2.The Race for the Best amongst the worst and race time odds may throw up some clues on the likely Winner.
Whisper Valley's owner would be the Contributor to the CLASSIC Race and may get the chance to get some stake money.
NON Stop CANNON is looking to be the place certainty of the day.
Stage Light is running in the lower class and gets a chance to UPSET.
3.Mangalya Prarambh or Andronicus ; Milagro ; Silken Clare.
Close call here and MP gets the chance to redeem herself after losing out on account on top handicap in the previous run.
Andronicus is also looking good but as always , ONLY one would be on the JOB.
Milagro has been regular in tracks and should place here by default.
Silken Clare can surprise.
Queen Rania may be fancied but i dont see it WINNING.
4.Badda Rupaiyya ; Refresh ; Madam Rich ; Superior Surprise.
The choices opted for are on account on pure handicap.
Superior Surprise has positive change of Jockey and Equipment but at best a place option.
Badda Rupaiyya was finishing on well in race 35 and should definitely be a good each way bet.Jockey is for the ODDS.
Refresh should place by default.
Double Emerge and Callista do not impress.
Madam rich was given a dubious run in race 35 , if the odds are to the liking of the Trainer , it will definitely shine.
5.Read my Mind / Afea / Classical Dancer.
Read My Mind after a few listless runs in summer regained form in Mysore and should be involved in the finish.
Afea should place here.
Classical Dancer performance was a surprise in previous outing .It looks better than Strong Minded which finished ahead in race 37.
Fantabulous Prince may find the trip a bit sharp to its liking .
CANNAVARO does not impress at this weight.
6.Raptor Force ; Media Man , On the Dot
First named came up with a late bid in Spicy Star race and the extended distance should definitely work to its advantage.Good BET.
Media Man was with the front runners but faded out in the last 50 metres in race 60.The Jockey declared to ride has shown some promise and hence should PLACE by default.
On the Dot may finish ahead of ROYAL BANK.
Other runners are backward.
8.Dancing Highness ; Soberano ; Milford.
Close call here but DANCING HIGHNESS is looking very good.Can upset with a bit of saddle assistance.
Tomsk is at a tidy handicap but CHOICE OF JOCKEY IS questionable.
Milford will surely finish ahead of Perpetuity over this shorter distance.
Soberano's last run was not as per merits as the Stable Mate JET FIRE was given preference.Should easily place here.

Options for Monday
Long card of 9 events before the mandatory 3 Week rest for Vaccination. One Could see a few surprises particularly from the smaller stables.
Short Selections are as follows ;
1.Daven Port and Dream Dancer .
The latter can be a good place bet while the former can be considered for WIN with a cover bet through SHP.
Rameses is likely to be the market rage but iam not sure if it can oblige.
2.Vendetta looks outstanding .However only issue is the mediocre riding skills of the Mumbai import who has let down on quite a few occasions.
If Vendetta is found wanting then MENLO park will take charge.
Cant see any other worthwhile contender in this race.
3.Madho or Air Bender : Former might be available at longer odds and a EACH way can be opted for.
Air Bender may be backed for Place , if the odds are above EVEN money.
Vanen Burg is entrusted to another mediocre rider and is also a habitual late starter.Not worth a bet as if has failed to deliver several times.
If Irish Intellect is in the ODDS , it may oblige as it is running optimum distance.
4.La Lapitus after the previous RUN looks fit enough to contest the issue.
Purely for the earlier form displayed GOLDEN Shadow may be considered for place.
there are good horses running with bottom handicap , but quality of Jockey's is so poor , it is not worth a bet.
5.Superfluous has stronger saddle support vis a vis the earlier runs and will place be default.If odds are above 5 to 1 , a Good each way bet.
Chamatkar is good purely on handicap.
YIPPEE may be unable to repeat its earlier performance.
6.Ice Candy and Habituated are evenly matched and race time odds may give a clear indication of the shape of things to expect.
7.Easy FLASH is bound to place.
Sprint Champ's last run was BOGUS. Is the Horse with the best chance to WIN.
Dancing Harbour is attractively placed on the scales and merits a PLACE bet.
8.Sweety Boy / Star Favours are both from same stable , so difficult to shortlist.The second named has better saddle assistance but the former is bred to do well over this distance.
Indian Army , could be a patriotic PLACE bet.
9.Red Fairy is very SPEEDY and gets first preference.
Standing Ovation is next best.
As always it is advisable to avoid ON money favorites if any , mentioned above.

8. Manlavi - Good at track work and speedy breed of Tirol

5. Ruffiano - Last run impressive, but will not win today and SHP prospect
6. Admire aura - can place because of the rider
8. Hundred flowers - Speedy Can upset

1. Orochi - Only a small place chance
2. Blast in class - will be in the fighting line. An eachway chance
3. Gentlemans deal - Definitely a better class one
5. Turf rider - May get his long overdue here

1. Carte Blanche - Should able to repeat his last run performance easily (2nd best )

14. Indradhanush - Easy winner last time. But will it be possible to beat carte blanche

1. Royal light - May be a good double for MF Ali Khan

Pythagoras and Yanamaria are likely to be the market fancies.The first named has a better chance to Score.
Amongst the first timers QUEEN of SHEEBA does impress .
2.Ruffiano Should WIN.
Hundred flowers and El Paso may follow the Winner.
3.Gentlemans Deal is the original CLASS 1 Horse and hence gets first preference.
Orochi may place ahead of fancied Shakin Stevens.
4.Asian Delight , being a promotee is at a tidy handicap and should be in contention for the First Two spots.
Pacific Groove is seen often in the morning tracks and hence should Place.
5.Ujjaini after the change of Stable is looking good .Good each way bet.
Run Away Model has also changed hands and may challenge.
6.Mizzna is at Top handicap.Tracking well .May do well but not worth a bet if the odds are less than 3 to 1.
Zorbonaut warms up late and looking at the other horses in the fray should PLACE.
Heydan placed last time with a Weak Jockey and it may have been a Gift from fellow jockeys.Looks difficult here.
7.Carte Blance : Has participated with classic contenders but may have to be content with only PLACE.
Dash on Regardless : looks difficult.
Vijaysamrat : Place is certain.With a bit of Luck can WIN.
Manduro : Surprise winner , can placed as placed very attractively on the scales.
Hyper Kinetic : another change of stable Horse.Jockey is a ???. But horse has a good chance.
Most of the other Horses in the Race have changed equipment after WINNING thereby intent to WIN is not seen.
8.Foot Print and Our Opinion are looking good here.
Monochrome is the upset commodity.

Very difficult to give clear pointers for the Races scheduled for saturday due to varied reasons.It would Pay to go for each way or PLACE bets rather than going for outright WIN bets.
1.As always the race for 2 year old's is looking OPEN .
Bucephalas : may place.
Mighty Monarch : based on track work , a place bet is not a bad idea.
Jamaican Bolt : very rarely are these TERMS Races WON by apprentice Jockeys irrespective of their MERIT.Hence cant be considered for WIN
.
OBAN : Might place due to Jockey merit.
Target Achiever : after a easy run with V.Shinde is looking fitter with Stable Jockey ,but running with " S " Shoes.But going by Pedigree , This can be considered if the odds are good for a each way bet.
2.Daring Instinct , Prince Norbert , Voice of India.
Race best left alone.Except ROYAL FILLY and DAZZLING LIGHT who are ruled out the rest all have a chance.
Being a VB race it is practical to have place bets based on race time odds.
3.All My Colors ,Stormy River , Sunny Colors , Shoot a Rainbow.
Difficult race as the First three Horses are all tracking well and if there are no stamina Limitations , i expect the race to be restricted to the first TWO here with Sunny Colors being the long shot who seems CERTAIN for place.
Shoot a rainbow did WIN very well under testing conditions but quality tackled earlier was all very very poor.Has no Stamina Limitations.I am ignoring purely on grounds of the ODDS likely to be offered.
4.Hidalgo , Hawaiian Sunrise , Wile Wench .
One more tricky race in the offing.
Asiaticus may be fancied after the WIN of Tina's Triumph on saturday but this Horse has never delivered when asked.I am not for it.
Hidalgo was finishing on late in race 29 and though a MILE would have been the IDEAL trip , it should be a good each way bet.
Wile Wench has a good chance to PLACE.
Hawaiian Sunrise is considered purely on account of the bottom weight.
5.Media Man / New Pastures / Star Image
Shisham is negative to ME.
Media Man was given a easy ride in race 19 , can definitely improve on that effort.
Girl Next door has the services of a Good Jockey relatively but a promotee.
New Pastures last run was too bad to be true.PLACE SHOULD BE CERTAIN.
Star Blue was stuck at the gates in previous outing .But Trainer / Jockey have not delivered this season and hence not WORTH A bet.
6.Aurelian / Diamond Hunter/ Queens Guest
First time in racing we see a NON WINNER ( not even good for VB race ) rated 25 , participating with CLASS 1 rated Horses.Surely one more feature in MAM's list of dubious achievements.May be considered for a Guiness record.
Aurelian was given the worst ride of his career in race 5 by VIVEK .Iam not sure if it can WIN here , being a 7 year old competing with youngsters.But if the effort is there , then it can definitely fight for the Honors.
Diamond Hunter : Consistent as ever.Weight will not matter as it has Lots of CLASS.
Woman on Top : very unreliable.
Queens Guest : Hacked a poor set of rivals earlier.JOCKEY is a TURN OFF.
7.Blink / My Friend Paul / Chimerique / Suceeding Star.
Last run of BLINK should be ignored as Jockey was not interested in the proceedings due to obvious reasons.SHOULD PLACE HERE SURELY.
My Friend Paul : May have tackled some poor set of horses earlier but is capable of doing well here.
Chimerique : based on Hyderabad run , good chance here.
Suceeding Star : Not very sure of its CLASS.
Regal RANSOM : LONG SHOT UPSET FOR THE DAY.
8.Alyciaa/ Sunny baba / Power to Fight / Different Opinion.
Dash to Cash , needs stronger saddle support.
Otherwise race seems quite open.

Southern Charge for RCTC Cup
1.This is the Race for youngsters and this season has seen several surprises.
Bourbon Bay has had a run earlier having come 2 nd to Vivacity.Has the services of the preferred rider on Friday but is still sporting " S " shoes. Potential of most of the others is unknown and hence will start as favorite.Not worth a bet as Odds are not likely to be punter friendly.
Zamelek / Alpha Bay / Captivating are all linked but going by choice of Jockey , Zamalek seems to be the Horse which will be tried.
Serious Attitude has a good chance to upset here.
Mercutio is very regular in tracks and may place.

Ahira , the youngster is a front runner and can do well as it is well placed on handicap.

One among Silver Paris , Classic Movements , Anna Fleetwood can be considered based on race time odds.
Suffice to say that Amazing Flora will find it very difficult to WIN and looks difficult for place also.

Anna's Quest last run was dubious as the race was seemingly set for the eventual Winner going by the Odds at race time.Should do well here.
Gift of Achievement has been a expensive failure since debut and may Upset here with the least fancied jockey.
AAJ TAK , took the connections to the cleaners last time after the big gamble failed with M Mark who has not been seen or heard since.Keep an eye.
Royal Hero may place if Sheer Gold does well in the 2 nd race.
5.River Island / Tina's Triumph / Movie Queen.
Lush Foliage was blatantly hooked in race 23 and is now running with additinal burden.Hence cant be considered.
Bee the Star having run in the same race is relatively better off and can do well if the mediocre jockey is able to handle the task.
River Island , has been a failure since a long time , mainly on account of the Jockey declared to ride.If the Weight is not an issue can definitely oblige.
Tina 's Triumph : keep a record of the Trainer's , other Horses for the day.If one of them Click then the ROLL would be ON.
Sunny Land : other than the Change in SHOES , i dont see any merit.
Panchakshari ; Front runner who tires out in the last 100 metres.Considering the fact that most horses are on TOP HANDICAP in this race , one can consider a bet here.Could be following Quiet Achiever.
Movie Queen : to me looks very good for place.
6.Southern Charge / Mothers Pride / Super Speed.
Southern Empire last Won a race beating stable mates Storm Regent and Bossie girl in hyderbad.That itself displays its Class.
Western Command , not sure of stable intentions.
Rio Bravo : Has tremendous turn of foot but Jockey is MEDIOCRE and has not had a WIN for a VERY LONG TIME.At best place.
Southern Charge : Going by its previous run , this Horse has the best chance here , though one must admit that this Horse does not usually oblige when fancied.
Super Speed : was a Classic Winner ? May place as it is well placed on the scales.
Mother's Pride : Not a class 1 Horse but was seen covering a lot of ground in race 13 at top weight.May place.
Scimitar : a late starter when not in the Money , no track work since previous run.Also Trainer suspect here amonsht all these Horses.

Worst race of the day.
Attaturk the reject from the Mallya stable has the services of a Rider who delivers at good odds.
Rudimentary will HAVE TO PLACE.
Desert Realm may place if Kandiate is not upto the task.
8.Satin Wood / Super Sonic / Auchinlech / Game of Life.
Could go any which way depending on the betting flow in the ring at race time.
However Dok of bay has a very negligble chance of scoring in this race.
Auchinlech was hooked TWICE in mysore and after the change in stables may be allowed to give a genuine performance.Seems to be a very good place bet.
Super Sonic is moody and unreliable but should place here.

Bourbon Bay has had a run earlier having come 2 nd to Vivacity.Has the services of the preferred rider on Friday but is still sporting " S " shoes. Potential of most of the others is unknown and hence will start as favorite.Not worth a bet as Odds are not likely to be punter friendly.
Zamelek / Alpha Bay / Captivating are all linked but going by choice of Jockey , Zamalek seems to be the Horse which will be tried.
Serious Attitude has a good chance to upset here.
