bloggers and punters have a long break ahead :) as the next serious racing action is many many days away , 5 th November 2010 , sounds like eternity.

When racing is conducted at all centres , as was the case for the past few months , it is indeed a nightmare as all punters only Eat , Live and and Sleep racing. The day starts and ends with discussion and analysis of the racing action.There was no time for social networking and many punters immersed themselves in racing theories and dreams thereby neglecting all other important issues affecting their daily lives.

I am sure most of us have felt the need to have a well deserved break to recoup and come back later with better strategies for the future.

3.Dear Shyambhai,

Let me start by saying a "BIG THANKS" for all ur tips Shyambhai. Having said that, let me begin..

1. One thing that sticks out about this blog Shyambhai was the soothing ghazals tat came with the blog. But tat was also the flip side 2 the blog. The blog was a bit slow as the player loaded for me when I used 2 have a slower internet connection. After I shifted to broadband connection from the beginning of this year, tat problem has been solved.

2...and 3.. Since the blog has been following the same background for the last year Shyambhai, one improvement cud be to spice up the looks with some background design.

Regarding improvement in tips, if there is a fault in ur tips, it is the fact that many times on-money fav r overlooked by u because they r on-money fav. Maybe Shyambhai, one shud look at favs too. Secondly, is the fact that once u have negative attitude towards certain non-performing jockeys, u overlook them even if they have gud mounts..examples being B.Prakash and A.Imran Khan. So much negativity (the negative attitude justified in most cases) has been there towards these top jockeys that many of their mounts in Pune n Mysore were not considered by you Shyambhai thereby denying the followers of ur blog gud odds-on mounts ridden by them. Let me state tat I make the above 2 points with utmost respect 4 ur tips coupled wit humility.

4) The highlights..Shyambhai, ur tips barring an odd day or so have been v v profitable 2 me. I have made a lot of money 4m ur tips at all centers. If one were 2 analyze ur strike rate, Pune, Mysore n Bangalore stand out..(evident by the expression of my gratitude in the comments section many times previously on ur blog). Hyderabad tips r gud but have not been that profitable 4 me.... (P.S. It cud be that I am wary of Hyderabad center n need not necessarily be true reflection of ur tips in my case)

5) The most important feature of this blog is the punctuality with which u give tips at all centers (barring Kolkata, Delhi, Ooty, chennai). Really Shyambhai, kudos to the earnesty n passion wit which u give tips. Ur single-minded tireless efforts coupled with ur honesty in giving tips at all the major racing centers day-after-day without respite backed by a tremendous strike rate makes ur blog stand tall among ur peers Shyambhai.

6. Routine review of all the blogs related 2 racing will definitely bring to notice many unknown facts n situations like one of the races in Pune on Tiger's blog (I had mentioned this before on ur blog). The flip side is that it also brings in unwanted negative thoughts towards a certain race/horse/jockey that it cud cloud one's mind n thereby lose out on a sure bet which one strongly believes in. Balance is the keyword here.

7..My gud n bad experiences from this blog I have already mentioned many times before on ur blog Shyambhai. Let me just bear testament to the fact tat I have had a whole lot of gud experiences n a very miniscule number of bad experience from ur blog.

8. I visit this blog daily on racing days. In particular I like the way u r able to spot the false favorites n pick the true money for value bets.

9..It is better to stick to the major racing centers only as u r presently doing.

I am ur biggest fan not just because of the money which ur tips have given me but also for ur sincerity, honesty, passion for racing, intuitiveness, single mindness which is very evident in ur tips. Ur belief in the capability/incapability of a horse n having the guts to state it much before race time when all n sundry have given the opposite view about the horse is wat sets u apart.

The true standing of a particular blog is the opinion given by others in the same field. U r highly spoken of Shyambhai both on IR n all other major racing blogs. This alone speaks volumes of ur tips and ur blog.

First let me thank you for all your hard work done till date by giving you suggestion on the racing.

Your blog is simple and very easy to understand even to a lay man.

Your tip's are extraordinary some time flukes and upsets we get scared to play buy seeing the odds offered Ex: sweet Caroline on Friday it is mind blowing.

It will be great if you mention the odd's in the morning with the selection.

only request is be a bit fair on the favourite horses (I agree all fav will not win all the time nor all the fluke's win's)

I agree with your comment well in advances only on the merit of the horses taking in to consideration weather they will try pentrometer reading false rallying etc, your selection are great.

only thing is the visitors who visit your blog should blindly play your selection e respective of how many time they lose their bet cause one up setter from you choice will cover the lost money.

I visit your blog everyday alteast 3 to 4 time a day.

Would request you write some article on the racing past experiences on owner back round/trainer/jockey etc will give us more information on racing I am sure you will have great experiences in racing.

You obviously have a lot of followers and a huge fan following. All due to your hard work on making sure that whatever the race day and whatever the outcome you had personally at the end of the day does not affect you writing your views in your blog for the next day's races.

Knowing you personally very well my honest answer to your questions would be just continue the way you are doing it at present. You could obviously change the design and templates which don;t affect the reading of the blog. If you get to read comments from others on what do do etc., it would not only take more of your time, it would affect your efforts on analysing horses.

I for one visit yur blog every race day and see if if Imaybe wrong or right in my choices.

your site is of course gives lot of information. but having followed your site for the last 2 and half years i cud not make any money. infact i carry your printout everyday and read race after race.

(nowadays i dont play all races, i select one or two and go by that.)

reason being sometimes you confuse a lot. and the reasoning you give for each and every horse is very very relevant for that particular one, the confusion arises which one to take. and you give high priced horses also at times and you write depending on odds. many times we leave the high priced horses since the odds are very high but they win. what i mean to say is certain things are not clear.

SUGGESTIONS.

at the end of every comment if you give short listed selection, if you one best option it will be better. this is my suggestion.

also playing all the races in a day no one can make money. it will come in one race, then next everything will go.

also if you give one best bet for the day, it will help everyone, even if they have lost everything fm all other reces recover from that.

reg favourites, you always ignore assuming, its always 30 or 50 paise. many times in pune and mysore, the odds are 2 to 1 or 1.75.

and in certain races you put the fav in the last position EVEN though you know it will win.

the confusion arises for the follower of your site, is.., it is going to lose and we start looking for another horse for win and again going into losing mode.

anyhow whether you take my comments in a positive way or negative way no problem. but this is the reality of many punters following your site.

I am a hard core admirer of your blog and purposly write in last after study of my other friend's opinion.

Your punctuality is the best thing which I have been prasing all the time and No One has any doubt in your Intention.

"BUT IS IT THE AIM ? CERTAINLY NO."

Un less Your hard core & blind followers are successfull financialy based on your tips, I donot think you are satisfied.

Let us analyse the reasons:-

There may be several reasons but if you sum up them the single word, It will come as "NON CONSISTANCY"

You TIP in almost all the centres & all the races.Naturaly You are also tired.

We are tiered just in study your TIPS (+) 5 Hrs in racing.Hardly We get time for any serious and deep mental work, but You are ready with your next day card within few hours of the previous day race.

This is affecting the CONCISTANCY in two negatve ways:-

i)As You are not able to concentrat based on previous datas (It may be of several types)due to lack of time or tirdness, the quality of selection gets affected.

ii)When number of selection are high (approx 3 to 4 selection (X) 9 to 10 races per day), % of strike rate has to be very very small.

Now, if A follower puts money in all your selection he will be BANKRUPT.
IF HE SELECTS AMONG YOUR SELECTIONS then there comes LUCK FACTOR.

Where I donot put money It WINS, & Vice Versa.

MY STRONG SUGGESTION:- Increase the CONSISTANCY by many fold.

How,It is left to you,

I suggest two methods.

a) As a test case Consider only Bangalore & Mumbai at present.

In these centres also please donot tip in all the races.

b)Tip only few select races WITH SINGLE TIP.Let us try this different approach and see the result this season. If result is encourasing You can continue the same way.

I understand the suggestion will not be liked by many collogues and very difficult for you also, but what ever you have been doing so far result is known. Are You Satisfied? No. Then try this way and see the final score.

Hyd - Last day Monsoon Meeting 2010

The Winter season commences after a short resting period.

This being termed as the last day is just a formality , the only change being the change in tracks.

the shortlisted choices for the last day are -



1.Nandanavanaa , Proviso , True Star.

Indian epic has negative change in equipment.
Cascading glory has not done well over longer distances.Hence can be ignored inspite of the presence of the Champion Pune jockey.

Nandanavanaa was 3.5 lenghts behind Proviso in the race WON by Jingles. Is now trimmer by 2 kgs. Can upset.

True Star , unexpected winner in previous outing. Can hope to place.

Proviso - may start as favorite.


2. Striking Gold , Penumatcha , Kohinoor Ruby.

Pay Master after the runaway victory has been penalised and looks difficult as allowance jockey is not declared to offset the handicap.

Penumatcha has been tried over shorter distances off late. Is now running over its optimum distance. Can place.

K Ruby - beat nothing of note but is well bred to make an impression here.

Striking Gold - has the champion jockey astride and at tidy handicap,Should WIN.


3.Commanding Heights , Victorious Sally , Aspire.

Close call between the first Two.

Aspire can only place as the terms are not suited for a WIN.


4. Arya , Accordion . Manduro.

Manduro , distance looks sharp , though the handicap is in favor.

Accordion - has been consistent , can upset .

Arya meets a poor field , going by its earlier run should emerge Victorious.



5.Jewel in the Crown , Fine Racer , My Tyson.

Youngsters have the advantage.

Jewel In the Crown was unlucky to lose out on Derby day. Can make amends .

The only threat will come from My Tyson , whose last effort was dubious after a couple of runaway Wins.

Fine Racer - should place .



6.Kohinoor Wish , Carte Blanche , Spruce SpringStien , Scubario.

Obvious choice is the 3 year old . However meeting a quality class I field . Not going to be easy as the colt has only been meeting same age group opposition all these days.

Carte Blanche - has been a consistent performer , Jockey merit is Visible. Can upset.

Scubario - close 2 nd over 1200 metres recently. Can hope to place here again.


7.Sanjaa , Aspiring Star , Deepanjali.

Last 2 runs of Sanjaa were definitely not upto the mark. Odds drifted dramatically , if intent is honest , horse can make amends for previous failures.

Aspiring Star , should place by default.

Deepanjali and the Himalayas are 2 entries from Anupam Sharma. One can hope to place.

Key Note if fancied can be Ignored.



8. Hail the Star , Regal View , Zarina.

Retaliate has failed many a time. Cant take a chance with this Jockey.

Hail the Star is well bred , has a decent chance.

Zarina - those who watched its last run , will realise that it can only place , though the handicap is attractive.

Trainer Prasad raju has a decent chance to lead in at least a couple of winners.

mysore derby race day

last day of the Mysore Main racing season 2010 , expect a lot of surprises.

1. Hi Heineken , Aryansh , Jewel Lady.

Vb race , usually race time pointers are more useful in these cases.

On merit the first named should WIN.

Aryansh is solely selected due to the low handicap.



2. Act of Duty , Mister Trooper , Manthara.

Prince Norbert is the best horse in the field but with Appu on duty , it is difficult to place confident bets.

Act of Duty has the handicap in favor and is seen running in the same class often but not sure when it last WON a race.

Mister Trooper has the best jockey , but conceding weight .

Manthara - here / there types , not performing as per expectations.


3.Star of Desire , Princess Coup , All for Cash..


Sky Empress , negative change of equipment after a Victory , defies racing logic.

Princess Coup - Trainer has a pathetic record , uses the services of some work jockeys always for the sake of good odds and fails often. Has opted for hyd based Ashad Asbar who has had a few winners at mysore.Can place.

Star of Desire - negative change in equipment can be ignored as some trainers are not particular on this at Mysore.



4.Rainbow Raising , Pearl of Bangalore , Rising Rainbow

Close call as all three are capable of doing well . Most horses in the fray are non winners since debut.



5.Refresh , Irish Intellect , Stampede.

Jockey merit plays a crucial role in most races and judging by the quality on offer , looks like three three will vie for supremacy.


6.The Contender , PreSet , Cannon Scot , Enforcer.

First named coming from a unreliable stable , If the money is on the horse it can win coming from any position. If not the jockey will confidently finish in the bottom three.

Pre Set - was never in the hunt last time as the race time indication was clearly on Holiday Date.Jockey very content with going off the board.

Cannot Scot - ready to strike , any of these days.


7.Incredible , Dare Don , Star Wave.

Incredible has impeccable credentials. Hope the intent is also there with the Owner cum Trainer.

Dare Don - can place at longer odds.

Time for All - beat a mediocre field when the tracks were suiting the front runners. Cant see it doing well here.


8. Edmondo , Caspian Sea , Super Spear, Talk of the Devil.

Caspian Sea , last Won a race in class III in March 2010. Has lost its form completely. Has to beat the contenders coming from bangalore .

Edmondo - handicap is very stiff , the rider pretty ordinary but has to be considered due to lack of genuine competition.

Super Spear - should place.


9. the Mysore derby 2010


Immense - lucky to Win 2 classics. Over this extended distance , the horse will be tested for its capability to stay the TRIP. Tracked only Once since the 2000 G Victory.

Fist of Rage - will be in contention for 7 , 8 , 9 place.

Rapture of Victory - has finished a good third to Xisca in the Hyderabad derby over the same distance . Earlier a decent 2 nd to unexpected winner Immense. Is bred to stay , cant be ruled out , though many would ignore it due to the place of origin.

Ordained One - rider is most consistent , always expect the unexpected . On horse merit can place.

Sun Kingdom - presence of Owners will hopefully galvanise the Jockey into giving a decent performance. Last run was definitely bad but that can be ignored as it was the first run after a long absence from the tracks.

Deep blue Sky - Jockey unable to win even VB race in pune.Has come all the way to render services to his relatives. A contender for 8 and 9 th place along with Bucethalis , ridden by India's ace Jockey.

Spark of Atan - was unable to beat Braavo Has finished 4 th when Deep Blue Sky was 2nd in bangalore. Very optimistic entry from the Owner. Should be considered for 5 th and 6 th position.

Balmoral Castle - Looks difficult as last run was a fair indicator of its potential . The WIN earlier in the season was purely a handicap effort with a bit of assistance from the other jockeys in the race.

I will prefer a each way bet on ROP as the odds are expected to be Higher than the fancied duo. The happiness and disappointment on Winning / Losing the bet will be evened out as the return on investment is Huge and the expected Loss if any would be minimal. Why to invest more and risk exposure at low odds.



10.Jaanvi , Liberty Ship , Black Beauty.

Supreme Arch does need a bit of distance and hence ignored.

The Winners in earlier outing have an edge in this race.

Last day Pune / Penultimate day Mysore

Lot of action on the turf on Saturday.

Punters based at Bangalore will have to manage with the Mysore races only.
A few racing centres offer dual betting facility.

At the concluding stages of the racing season , definite bets cant be recommended , reason being the top trainers and owners rarely put in their best efforts on these days . Lesser known Owners and Trainers who have had moderate success throughout the season will try to recover the costs.

Punters have to go by the race time trends and opt for value bets . There is no point in backing the race time favorites , the races on saturday was an example.


Pune may witness a mixed day on the concluding day , with a few favorites coming through in the absence of real competition .My suggestions for pune are as follows .
( ignore if Win Odds are below 1.5 )



1.Rhythm Divine and Jalsa - can be considered for each way.

Winning Treat for place.



2.Star Symphony - Win / place

Conzstanza , Glowing Star and Hottie for place.


3.Aliyana - Win - Last run timings clocked was impressive.

National Ikon and My Pet Honey for place or each way as the case may be.


4.Forever Young - Win / place

Harmonica - Shp or place.


5.Ocean Yarmann - Only Win.

Gauri - Place.



6. Tell me More and Absolute Reality - Each way or Place depending on the ODDS.

Grand Warrior -- small bet for place

Star Trainer has good credentials and a decent jockey , race time odds will give clear indication of the outcome.


7. Ariane and Rapide for place.

Obvious choice for win would be Star Invitation but Odds may not be favorable and now worth the risk at the end of the season.


8. My choice is Cabriolet / Mighty Crusader. each way
( depending on race time odds )

Clarion Call is a tired horse.

Youre so beautiful failed twice , will it be 3 rd time lucky ?? At the odds on offer why risk ??

Spark of Gold - has beaten most of the runners here , Fair chance.

Sans Pareil - definitely not here.


9.Dictator , Illustrious , Dream Talk are the contenders for WIN.

Machupicchu may follow the fate of Hillary.

Foward Charge can be backed for PLACE.


10.Flashing Sword , Fox Trot and Ashwa Prerna -

race should be restricted to these 3 horses as the horses making debut cant be backed with confidence.


11.Native Lady - should win.

Aqualine and Glorious Miss can hope to place

First two are pretty impressive in track. Can shine here.

Loremo based on last run looks good for place.


5.Elite Land ,Don Diego , Smart Exotic.

Close call between the first Two.

Don Diego , last run was absolutely pathetic.Will start as favorite.

Elite Land the eternal failure case , as a Optimist , worth a bet as the odds will be in favor.



6.Long distance race , credibility of most runners to do well over extended distance is suspect.Horses which have come from class Iv in bangalore to class II in Mysore are not worthy contenders though the handicap may help to a certain extent.

Darling Boy and Last Sammurai - may both place , one of them can WIN.

Ice Mint - owner change , jockey change , not sure of the intent.


7.Behram , Golden Quest , Sweet Caroline.

Golden Quest may have seen better days but is conceding weight all round.

Sweet Caroline - will be carrying 50 kgs , if it stays the mile , capable of upset.

Foswell - looks difficult here.

Behram - One race due for the Wily Trainer ??

Pune Friday Special

Penultimate day of pune racing season 2010 and incidently a special race day. Long card of 10 events has been framed and lets all wish that the horses run true to form.

1.Blue Mellon , Culcrieff , Star Glory.

Race for NON WINNERS in the current racing season. The only winners in recent memory being Blue Mellon and Emerald Star. The former in the same class whereas the latter has WON in the lower class.

Star Glory was very impressive while finishing a game 2 nd to Owner mate , Sea Buccaner. Meeting better horses here. Not going to be easy though to WIN.

Culcrieff , consistent but unable to breach the Winners circle. Can surprise if
the others take it easy.

2.Misschevious Trot , Cloud Cover.

Race is restricted to the top and bottom rated horses in the fray.

Cloud Cover is coming from the lower class on promotion. Having been ruined by the earlier trainer who was content with the One WIN per season over 1000 metres . The horse bow being trained to participate based on its optimum distance. Has the handicap in favor has been consistent but can it beat a experienced horse is debateable.

Agha has negative change of equipment .

Cosmopolitan may relish the conditions in Mumbai and do well in the forthcoming season , can place here if the rider on one of the fancied runners is found lacking in his efforts.

M.T – Mallesh Narredu as usual hold the key. Horse is a very good finisher and patrons will wish that the Rider displays the same qualities while finishing his career as a JOCKEY.

3.Walking Tall , Call to Arms , Hammerhead.

Wild Torronaado is speedy and has seen better days, Current form is not very good though the jockey has shown lot of improvement .

Walking Tall – was boxed in the railings in the previous effort but for which would have done better than the final result – 10 / 12. Is attractively placed on the scales.Rider doing well for this trainer.

Hammerhead is speedy – if taken to the front may place.

4.Tyumen , Admiral Quest , Star Builder.

Dancing Dame has credentials but no recent form. Last run was pretty bad though the field was far superior. With 4 horses of the 8 horses not even having a chance to place , this filly can only hope to place.

Tyumen – last run was forward. Looks fit enough to strike .

Admiral Quest – comes into contention by default.

SB – only this owner’s horses are tried over 1400 or more by the trainer. One of the best bred horses in the fray but being allotted to this non performing trainer raises doubts on its capability.

5. is this the race of the season ??

Iljal , Rajdoot and Houdini can create MAGIC after many listless runs all through the season.

6.Very very competitive race , excluding Taanush and Apache Indian , the rest all have a chance.

Tromos – last run was forward but with RKW horse in the fray and the Owners of this horse always preferring to collect Trophy in Mumbai , intent to do well may not be visible. Worth a small e/w bet for the Horse.

Confiserie – after many dubious runs came good recently in Pune . Has the inform jockey guiding its fortunes. Should do well.

Granados – on a Hatrick. Last run was no doubt impressive but rest of the field was very pathetic. It was a gift race. Meeting quality field here , is this run too close for comfort is the ???

Snow Queen – dubious rider whose patchy effort cost a certain race , when losing to Living the Dream.

Sea Shower – Enquiry case , finishing 4 th to Amorosque after trailing the field for most part of the race.

7. Wells Fargo , Wings of Angel , Young Offender .

Bottom 3 rates horses - 2 ridden by promising allowance jockeys and 1 by a jockey who is yet to WIN a race.

8. Suraj , Blades of Glory , Marine Zone.

Tattenhoe has done well over 1000 only. Hence difficult to place a confident bet.

Suraj is a aged horse which does well in Pune. The Jockey is not seen these days at this center.. A winner in the same class this season cant be ignored.

Blades of Glory – should place.

Marine Zone – Jockey has been doing well for this trainer . Did well to Win in

the lower class even after being lethargic at the start . Should place.

9. Youngsters , close call.

Star Vision , Ashwa Parwez and Venus Rose Water are all capable of doing well.

Iam not very convinced on Svelte Lady.

10.Moonlight beauty , Dancing Money , Amora.

Can go any which way

Can shine - depending on the odds either straight Win or Each way.

Trainer Abbas - Blue Mellon , Tyumen.

Trainer Sait - M.Trot and Sea Shower

Trainer Surti - Wells Fargo and Dancing Money.


Ignoring Dallas Todywala as he had a lucrative double on Sunday.

amongst the rest , i do feel that Iljal , Syraj and Walking Tall are all worth considering based on race time odds.

Good luck , and as always look for value bets rather than betting on money favorites.

Malakpet - monday

Looks like a lack lustre race day based on the limited number of races and lack of serious contenders in most of the races.


my choices -

1.Jaan Baaz ( Trainer has given 3 entries out of the 5 ) May have gone void otherwise. On that count atleast he deserves a race.

There is a positive change in equipment as well as Jockey.

Golden Sabot / Ice Mountain for SHP.


2.Kathakali , Steel Breaker , Green Gift.

If Sorbitrate Wins it will be a Miracle as it is running so often that the Horse would be tired and might have lost its zest for racing.

Kathakali can make it a Start to finish affair.

Steel breaker looks certain for a place


3. ( Sweety Boy , Golden Tricks )

One of them should WIN. Sweety Boy , last outing Winner , race was SET up perfectly with the rest of the runners letting the horse WIN right from the word GO.

Golden Tricks , at times a late starter. Can Place.

Cicilia and Welcome Baby are competent to fight for the minor placings.


4.Bernardo , Power Ranger , Tell me a Tale.

Bernardo has been brought down a lot on handicap. Has raced with Class I Horses in the earlier part of Winter season 2009/10 . If the Jockey shows his competence it will be a clear Winner.

Tell me a Tale - loves to go to the front. Unfortunately the Trainer has not opted for a allowance jockey , thereby intent to Win is not visible.

Power Ranger can place as the other contender Penumatcha is ridden by a mediocre jockey.


5.Genius Express , Deepanjali , Fearless Mission.

GE is the best here. Has Won a race this season. Last run was interfered very badly and dropped the rider.

Deepanjali - rider is showing lot of promise. Should easily place.

Esperenza - jockey is not reliable .



6.Surya Putra , Menlo Park , Cheetah He Jeetah.

Close contest as the first two have done well in previous outing.

Victorious Sally is showing signs of previous form. Can place if the others do not show interest in the proceedings.


7.Indian Brave Heart , Black Rose , Merry Maid.


All WIN / SHP / Place may fetch more than 2 times the Investment in this race , reason being None of them have credentials . One Long shot finishing in Top Two will guarantee the cost of the bet.

16 th October- options for pune and hyderabad

1.Double Delite , Arisen Star ,Auraria.

Race for horses in the lowest class.

Double Delite can compensate for Native Lady. This Horse was expected to WIN a VB race in Mumbai but lost due to the feeble riding of James Doyle. There was an enquiry and to ensure consistency the Trainer ensured that DUD Jockeys were entrusted with the Task in all future races. Has come down on handicap , ready to Strike.

Arisen Star - last run was forward . Can hope to place.




2.Swoosh , Katrina , Classic Money.

Horses running first time after being gelded as well as a LONG break are usually ignored as health form and fitness is not in public domain.

Swoosh did well in last outing when ridden by a aged jockey , coming from way off the pace to finish a good 4 th. Can hope to shine here.Only worry is the form of Dasrath Singh who had 4 winners on Saturday. Will he be ASKED to take EASY.

Katrina - pleasing tracks , should place .


3.Wings of Angel , Starry Ocean , Arzaan.

As a matter of principle I avoid recommending all horses ridden by C Alford and Neeraj Rawal particularly when they are expected to Score.Avon Creek will be fancied if it WINS , the Owner will be happy , at last there is a WIN in a race center other than Kolkata.

Wings of Angel is well placed on handicap , capable of surprising.

Starry Ocean - expected to place only . If it starts as favorite , worth considering a negative bet.

Arzaan - tracking well , if the same is reproduced in the tracks , can hope to place.



4.Petra , River Gem , Crowned Princess.

Youngsters , could go any which way.

Petra was given a light run recently as it coming after a long layoff.Purely on the bloodlines it is worth a bet.

River Gem - Jockey is a non winner . Trainer opts for Trevor Patel when the WIN is required. Can hope to place.

Crowned Princess - starts as favorite from Lagad.So fate is sort of known in advance.

Star Glory - no show on debut. Not sure of its chances here.



5.High Society , Matilda , Cape Ferrat.

After 2 almighty runs by C Alford , trainer opts for S.Zervan .In effect the earlier 2 runs were purely for the Bookies. What's in store here at meagre odds ? May meet a new challenger from the debutants.

High Society - best on Tracks , can make a Winning Debut.

Matilda or Marigold - one of them is certain to place.




6.Maria Teresa , Fallen Angel , Sun Kissed.


Emerald Valley , most consistent loser following the footsteps of Native Knight , only difference is the distance the Horse is asked to race.Can Dasrath make the difference ??

Maria Teresa - only issue is the rider who is absolutely pathetic. He may have WON on Sans Pareil but his overall record is very bad , worth a negative bet , ODDS Willing.,

Fallen Angel - will place.

Sun Kissed - 3 rd in last outing . Hope Alford retains the Place position at least.


7.Black magic Woman , Gossip , Hiawatha.


2 year olds competing.

Nothing certain .

Based on track work and Jockeys assigned to the task these Three Appeal.



8.Sun Set Boulevard , Steely Dan , Rajasthan Royals, Starrer.

Starrer may have support but looks very difficult.

Steely Dan is back after a long layoff. Should easily place.

Rajasthan Royals - handicap is stiff , last ride was pretty bad. Should place.

Sunset - back after a sojurn at bangalore where it was fancied ahead of Sun Kingdom but ran such a pathetic race which was beyond belief.
Hopes are now rested on M.Kharadi to do the honors. Coming from DRAW 2 , is he capable ?? Time will tell. In any case if it starts as favorite , there is only one way to bet and that is " laying "


9.Victor Ivanov , Pharoah , Jalsa.

Jalsa failed as a favorite. Lets watch its progress here for the future.

Looks like an upset race though most horses have no credentials.


10.Maseeha , Clarion Call.

White Knight - staying capability is a ??

Highland Crown - not here.




1.Retaliate , Arcturus.

Jockey Umesh ousted from Vatsalya stable after the earlier run of Retaliate , there is a stewards enquiry into the loss and trainer had lodged complaint against Jockey. Can come good here , will have to beat Arcturus.

Juliet has been failing consistently.


2.Anguna , True Fashion , Retro Magic.

anguna , last run was eye catching. Can WIN.

True fashion , looks certain for place.



3.Scubario , Lone Ranger , Kohinoor King.

difficult to pick the winner here. Lone Ranger has not won for ages , is a promotee.

Kohinoor King survived objection , looks very difficult for win , can place.

scubario - looks to be the best from the trainer's entry in this race.


4.Scamper , Smarty Prince , Secret Asset.

Scamper - front runner , only negative aspect is the mediocre jockey .

Smarty prince has been finishing on in all earlier outings. Can surprise.


5.Elzaam , Good Shot , Ice Man.

Elzaam , winner beating Extreme. Facing moderate set here. Can repeat though the odds may not be punter friendly.

Good shot , given a deplorable ride by ace jockey srinath who was a complete flop in hyderabad during the derby races.Should place.

Ice Man , handicap looks better here but jockey merit has to be factored.



6.Kohinoor Mystic , Red River Rebel.

KM is speedy and can make it a start to finish affair.

Chestnut Charmer and Splendid Act do not have initial speed and if the rider of KM is found wanting , can upset.

RRL - looking at the handicap compared to all its previous runs , has a chance . jockey is doing well .


7.Sparks , Leave it to Me , Davenport.

One race for the LOCAL Horses ??? After all graded races have gone to the bangalore / Mumbai based horses.

Sparks can WIN and reverse the trend

Leave it to me - with srinath in the saddle , confidence levels are at all time low.

Davenport gets the nod as EL Paso has limitations , not sure if it can do well over 2800 metres .


8.Standing Ovation , Thunder King , Southern Spice.

last outing failure Standing Ovation has the best chance here though it is a non winner for past 2 seasons.

Thunder King is sure to place.

Ayudha Pooja - Pune races

Greetings to all patrons on the occassion of the Festival.Hope all of you have a profitable day at the races.


Post Derby it is time for the non performing trainers to earn valuable stake money and reversal of form should not be seen as a surprise. It is advisable to avoid backing OnMONEY favorites.


My choices for the day -

1. Adams Prince , Marudhara Ratan , Winning Treat .

Suzy Wong the only recent outing Winner. Not sure if it do well at this handicap though the Bloodlines are suggestive.

Perfect Strenght - the winner of a 2000 metres in Mumbai in April, 2010. But Current form of both jockey and horse being pathetic can be ignored.

Pound Foolish - a maiden having seen better days , in its last run finished was a distance behind the winner .Meeting inferior field today. Fair chance.

Winning Treat the most CONSISTENT horse over this distance , but with ZERO RATING.

i am Going with the Horses which have scope to Improve.Amongst the fancied horses Pound Foolish looks the best.



2. { Samiel , Krug } Winner is is restricted to these Two horses.

Samiel , was impressive on debut. Should run a good race.

Krug - pattern of running was not consistent in the last 3 runs. With the change in Jockey and a inferior field to tackle , a good chance to score.

Azul and Royal Prothcawl will have to fight for minor places.

Mischevious Z , would have been a good horse to bet on but Intent to WIN is lacking from stables for past month. Also a mediocre rider is entrusted with the task.


3.Wild Imagination , Celtic Manor , Ashwa Prahar.

the Rebel is speedy but has reached its mark in class VB.

Celtic Manor's performances have been very poor considering its BLOODLINES. Can shine here.

Alburz - definitely one of the best horses in the fray , the last few runs with rider boy T.Atul were to reduce the rating and making it fit for the GAMBLE. But knowing Antia and his antics, not worth a bet.

One last chance for redemption for Wild Imagination , unless the owners prefer to see the Horse WINNING at Mumbai.



4.Kite Runner , Prince of Troy , Ocean Sensation.

Could go any which way.

Manitou Splendour's run in # 128 when fancied was so bad that the subsequent effort in # 182 can be ignored. Looks difficult here.

Prince of Troy - a chance bet for the Jockey, trainer is not the reliable sort.

Ocean Sensation - faraway 3 rd to Cest La Vie , can place.

Kite Runner - if it takes a level jump from the gates will be hard to BEAT.


5.Blue Marine , Saints N Sinners , Estevez.

NEFYN - @ 62 kgs over 1000 metres , conceding weight to all and sundry , not going to be easy.

Highland Music - was hooked Once at the begining of the season , after that the horse is unable to perform.Horse loves to go to the front , the likes of Prakash are not known to follow these tactics. Mumbai is the destination.

Estevez - pune performances has not been upto the mark. Jockey usually does not ride well when Horses from RKW are in the fray. Tracks are decent.

Saints N Sinners - very impressive in all starts , meeting horses in class II within a year of debut. Jockey is doing extremely well these days but all the WINS are in the lower class.Hope he shines amongst the BIG JOCKEYS.Distance looks sharp .

Blue Marine - ridden by one of the most mediocre jockeys seen in recent times. Going by horse merit and handicap has a decent chance to score. Hope he reports SICK and a Jockey change is announced , at least punters can BET confidently.



6.Flying Jewel , Dante Rosetti , Running Sun , Chingari.

FL was very very impressive in race 96. Has the ability to repeat.

Running Sun beat a set of no hopers who had no realisitic chance of winning. Most of them may never ever win a race in the near future. That effort cant be considered here as there are some seasoned horses in the fray.

Dante Rosetti - fair chance as the trainer has finally realised to use the services of INFORM Jockeys.

Chingari - has good turn of foot. Can place if the Jockey shows willingness .


7.BlackJack , Scarlette.

Straight fight , a close finish is expected.

Show Stopper is the only horse capable of a upset.

Ciel Indienne is ridden by C Alford , less said the better.

Ocean Admiral , intent to WIN not visible as retained rider not seen . A Jockey with a ZERO WIN Record is handling the horse.

Black Jack , was very very impressive on debut. Is fantastically bred. Is definitely the horse to beat.

Scarlette - another youngster on whom there are a lot of expectations. Can upset.



8.Star Empire , Generalissimo , Ashwa Puskar.

If Star Empire does not WIN here against modest opposition , then it would be time to shift to other non competitive centre to WIN races. Will be offered at Low Odds and hence not worth a BET As risk return ratio is not punter friendly.

Belligerant is one of the better horses in the fray , unfortunate that it is ridden by Champ Alford. A performer fit for at Kolkata races.Why some trainers opt for his services is a mystery yet to be resolved.

Ashwa Puskar - fair chance to place.

Generalissmo - will surely place here.


9. Native Lady , Hillary , Major Wager .

Hillary , Winner on 13/06 at BTC . After that just 3 track works visible on 6/10 , 7/10 , 14/10. Should have raced in the earlier part of the season at Pune or at Bangalore where races were held until August. For its class and HYPE , it should have been pitted in a Million race for youngsters , rather i notice that the Trainer has given a entry in a handicap race at the end of the season .Not sure of its fitness levels and reason for the LONG BREAK. The horse may have been kept fit by exercising in the Stud Farms ?? a lot will depend on the WEIGHT of the Horse . if that is displayed at race time. In any case no Sane Punter would bet at the meagre odds which will be on OFFER

Major Wager - can hope to place as field is relatively poor.

Native Lady - gifted a race to National Glory , rider was least interested in the proceedings. Can come good here.
