Sunday Mysore races

Sunday race card is competitive with lot of good horses in fray. Except for 2-3 races on Saturday , rest had horses with hype not credentials. Lot of  unexposed horses came through with flying colors.

Mysore Saturday races

Jockey SN has accepted to ride horses most of which will be Favorite or 2 nd Favorite.

Would be impossible to Win all , all the more foolish to List his horses in front. He will definitely win a few but foolish to put all his horses ahead & hope that he will oblige. Each punter has to see the ODDS & decide if Horses ridden by him , deserves a bet or not.  I may list 2 horses here but play 3rd horse based on situation during race time. Its not only Win , there are other bets which can be placed.


1. Code of Honour. Sherwin.

Sherwin lost to Rani Jindan which subsequently was thrashed by Forest Flame with Rubik Star finishing distance ahead of RD. So logically Rubik Star should be better horse. But in horse racing form often takes a hit in unfamiliar tracks. Most times Intent matters, Rubik Star is not seen on tracks & its not easy for a debutant to travel down south & do well.

Sherwin is tracking well & earlier loss to RJ can be ignored as it was debut run. Can Win but at Low Odds not worth the risk.

Code of Honour was finishing on late on debut over 1100. Probably current distance may suit. 

All About her has scope to improve on her earlier starts.

2. Bernardini.Cersie Noir

It is fair to Presume that  95 % of Mys based horses will not find in a Place in top 3 except in races framed for local horses or where Outstation horses comprise of  3-4 horses only , thereby scope for manipulation exists.

Valegro is under scanner for bad performance & long time since it has Won. rider declared is absolutely thrash. Besides short straight in Mys may not suit horses coming from Mumbai.

3. Ashwa Raftar. Akita Pro

The last time junk horse Musterion Won , rest of the 6-7 fancied runners took a dive. The last 2 horses on tote finished 2 nd & 3 rd. Reason was easy to guess as race was held on Derby day & Part Owner was Sponsor of derby . Musterion just about finished ahead of Asgardia in 1 race prior to that. With new rider unfamiliar with Mys tracks , at best Musterion can place.

Asgardia beat junk bunch and despite pull in  weights presence of mediocre rider may not help.

4. 😑

Difficult to locate even 1 horse having better credentials than Hokkaido. Often this Owner's horse lose out when they are offered at Low Odds. Trainer has similar record attached to his name.

Queen Regnent may have run with better bunch , but is still a maiden & running carrying top weight. Hence not considered. Best bred but repair case High Priestess is rated 23 , reflects how pathetic its performance has been till date. But when seen with all Mysore junk & carrying low weights there is scope to do well. Gazebo Talk was 1 position below HP in prev outing. But no guarantee it will do well .  Brown Bess was gifted a race recently & Rider is dubious. 

Many 4 year olds are doing this trip for 1 st time. Failed favorite Star Sapphire  for Place ?

5.  Lion.  Tremendous

16 local horses racing for the first time in Mysore i guess . A race framed just to prove that Mysore has 16+ horses rated above 60 .Luck of the draw will have an major in small race clubs for obvious reasons , ideally club should have should divided with 2 divisions .

First Favorite Lion cant be backed with confidence due to Odds , rest all have credibility issues even for Place

6. Multifaceted. Star Baron. 

Knotty Ash with Anthony would have been a good Place bet. With John its risky to consider even for Pool Bets.

Favorite has impressive credentials and should hopefully Win.  As stated earlier this is 4th ride for SN & all  4 will be fancied to Win.  So foolish to bet even if it is a formality if ODDS are LOW. 

Intense Stylish may struggle on these tracks.  Iron Age Place odds would be NIL Those opting to Win have to rely more on  crooked ride on favorite .

7. Ambrosio. Cosmos .

Cosmos Won due to pull in weights and junk field in Chennai - except for My Opinion. Prior to that had beaten Velocidad , lost to Australis. Hence there is ??? on its merit though it is rated high for having won in chennai. Place odds may be Low. 

Sacred Roman is a stayer & has poor record over shorter trips. Even Wins over longer trip is not on merit per se , more to do with its staying capability than the rest of field who were tired down  . Has beaten Raees & Kambaku etc , not graded horses.

Ambrosio is raced sparingly in recent times. This may be 5 th fancied horse ridden by SN. So one can take a decision based on ODDS & his performance in prior races.  Even he wins HERE , it does not matter ,  best is to skip this race  if he has Won 3 races prior to this. With just 8 runners place odds on fancied runners may be very low.

Who Makes the Rules can places. Cavarossi and Reunion are incapable of doing well. Point to Prove may be out of dept here though it WON in Kolkatta.

8. Divine Glory. King of the Sand.

Local lot is backward .  Octavius may place due to low weights , though it is short of merit as evident in ratings. From the rest SN horse can't be listed AGAIN. Limited options.


Not sure how many punters will back SN on Saturday or go against Horses ridden by him particularly if they are favorites. If wishes were horses , 6/6.😁

3rd Aceros can win if draw 11 does not pose problems.  Not worth a bet if race time odds go down further as Div 1 race.  4th race 9 has not placed in top 2 in past 5 outings. 44443 .  So low odds not justified even if field is poor .5th at 45/100 even War Hammer commanded better price in its races.   61 rider is yet to complete 40 winners in 5 years.  Horse is a class superior.. Div 2 top weight. Low odds . Look for value bets. 72 is speedy . Lot of horses to beat it.

Skyfire beat poor bunch hence ignored. Place may not yield much. Win looks doubtful looking at relative merit.

Aachen is good enough to place.

Win all last run looked dubious as horses which finished 1-2 were long shots / aged horses which nobody expected .

Jersey Legend can place due to pull in weights.

Multifaceted is on winning spree but best nothing of note. Facing class 1 field here.

Mauritania last run was in Chennai where pretenders were plenty.  BLR previous runs were pretty bad. Could bounce back.

K.Ash is speedy , short trip may enable a place spot.

TK is racing after long break but has enough class to finish in top 3 if fit.

Lucky are those punters who are able to locate Winning horse  , many punters will be losers .  Thats the reality. Even if favorite Wins not more than 10% of punters would have backed it as there is the problem of Plenty. 

20 runners , bookies will be Winners as payout is restricted  & there would be 10-12 Horses on which punters may wager.

Horses 2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9.10 & 11 look like  NOHopers. Luck of the draw may enable 1 of them to Place , that too  5 % possibility .

with 10 out of the picture , fight is between Rest 10 for top 3 spots. Luck of the draw & ability to stay 2400 metres trip will decide fate.
