@ Hyd - First race starts @ 1.30


Penultimate day of current racing season , intent will be to recover stake money , Odds may not be relevant , scope for many long priced horses to do well.

All the more reason to SKIP short priced favorites / low payout for Place , except in Small fields where there is no chance for Long shots to Oblige.

4. Magical Skill , Negress Pearl , Monte Rosa.

@ Mumbai - First race commences at 3.45 Pm

1. Amazon Cat , Pezzonovante , Acker Bilk.

class Vb race , Pepper Corn rider is backward , at 20 to 1 , no harm in betting on his mounts , when Win odds are below 4 , it would be Dumb to wager , irrespective of the outcome.

Acker Bilk - Jockey managed to Win despite being No Whip race as most riders were JUNK.  Post penalty , best to keep away.

Amazon Cat is speedy , i expect it to PLACE at least. Safer bet , better than searching for worst in VB field . In any case if Odds are below evens not worth a Wager.

Pezzonovante - has a  Proper Jockey  for  Once .. many a time handling results in better performance.

2. Golden Belle / Strategic Move .

Horses 2.3.5.7 cant be considered confidently for Win.  At best One of them may finish 2 nd. A couple are repair cases / other 2 come from same stable ..Incentio could do well , this being 2 payout race ,difficult to wager with confidence due to age factor.

Arizona Sun - last run recently was good , now seen in higher class.

Golden belle , last run to be ignored as mediocre white skinned rider was entrusted with task. A junk jockey , who just about managed to complete the race. On old form & handicap , good chance.

Strategic Move - runs after a long layoff , dubious stables , hoodwinking public often. As it is seen in tracks after 3 months , i would prefer to skip personally.

3. Intelligence , Congressional.

Horses 2.3.5.6 have ZERO chance to Win. That much is certain.

Between Rule Down Under & Congressional , i would prefer latter over 1400 Trip. If fancied runner falters , can Upset.

Intelligence - after a couple of disasters in Pune courtesy , worst rider , has come to hand . Has been Winning effortlessly . With age / handicap in favour & a good rider in the saddle , should be able to Win.

4. Jetaway , Fribourg , Alisha's Pet. 

A.P will start as favorite , a good horse , having Won convincingly earlier this season. However fact is Trainer sacrificed it later for Pearl Secret. At low Odds , there is No value in a bet.  

Captain Abdon - has Won only Once in past 4 seasons , courtesy another rank pathetic ride by Suraj to enable his relative to Win. Subsequent runs have proved it was One off event. With Jodha stable record , extremely disgusting this season , better to keep away.

Horses 4.5.6.8 may have no chance to Win or Place. Master of Trinity is ridden by Junk rider , comes after long layoff. May have seen superior horses , but remains a maiden , long layoff does not send positive signals.

Prisitina is well bred , worth taking a chance only if it is in the betting , say below 15 to 1 for Win.

First 2 named horses are not the best , just taking a chance each way , at Longer odds. Low investment , low risks , higher payout if it succeeds.

5. Flashing Honor , Olly Boy.

Horses 3.5.6 are NO HOPERS.

Sou' wester  - trails the field for most of the trip , as it is getting weight from Fancied runners , can sneak in for Place . This being 2 payout race , ignored as it is a maiden.

Olly Boy - can stay the trip , no harm in taking a small chance e.way.

Zephir - Won in an impressive Winner , field was not very competitive , manner of Winning was good. However there is no Value in wagering on a favorite , over this distance , that too conceding weight.

6. - PBMM - Difficult race to predict as there are so many runners ,  bad start / traffic issues will impact those who are not keen to race in front bunch. Many horses will be racing first time under lights .. from what i have observed , very few horses come off the pace & Win under lights.

Horses which can do well - in order of card -

Accolade - Arvak -   Carbonara -  Common Wealth - Ice Glacier.


-3 horses which Won impressively in last start are from Blr -

-2 local horses which are used to these tracks -

don't wish to go into detailed analysis as they rarely serve the purpose when younger horses are involved . Many of them improve after each run.

7. Silver Shadow , Flashy Wings , Water Fall.

All maidens , Flashy Wings did well on debut at 40 to 1 , stable mate being the favorite did not even Place. The 2 nd run was after a period of 2 months during which horse was not tracked even ONCE. Rogue trainer , filthy attitude , horse was not in the betting & finished in the rucks. Recent tracks are noticed , Odds may be low as field consists of debutant's , whose potential is unknown / horses which are backward. If Punters keep backing all Horses ridden by Sandesh for Win , bookies will be Bleeding.  Having accepted so many engagements , it would be impossible to do justice to all the Horses as was seen at Blr on saturday with Suraj. Bet / Skip left to the punter . No comments on merit of the horse.

8. Who Makes The Rules , Eternal Inspiration , Its A Deal.

Honestly no clue .. had to rely on Pedigree / Quality of Saddle support. Often impressive track work as displayed in race books , rarely get translated in tracks.

9. Traherne , Stand & Dance , The Champ.

Rider like Suraj may not give his best always for whatever reasons  , if odds are good , one can always take a chance. Win or Lose is not very important . When scoundrels like Kishore Dingra are involved , best to keep away as Intent is known after the race. Keep punters guessing with dual entries , across 2 stables , shifting jockeys to shift focus , basically manipulators who decide When to Win / Lose. No need to list the horses with which they have Conned Punters.

Stand & Dance - last run was quite decent , can hope to Place.

27 th Feb .. Blr Races

Hi all ,

1.  Summer Sky , Mr Big Shot , New Mallet 

Vb race , no point backing horses which are failing repeatedly . Either take a chance on a Long shot or Skip should be the logic in these races.

2. Artorius , Mystical Shadow , Charming Grey.

Multiple entries / junk riders / aged horses .. Universal choices will be First & Third named horses. As fancied horse from Dubious stables are best avoided , opted for Long shot Mystical Shadow.

3. Rock N Rolla , Ice Pick Willie , Kimora.

Another low class race .

Kimora was gifted a race in previous outing. May be difficult here due to handicap.

Brown Panther is a front runner , inconsistent as it comes from rogue trainer. Last outing ran well @ longer odds with negative equipment change. No idea what is in store here.

Ice Pick Willie - a fair chance as relative handicap is in favour. Rest depends on the notorious rider.

4. Vivid Impression , Supreme Dominator , Inquisition , Capitalize.

Tough race , lot of horses have seen better class , conceding weight to lower rated horses which are class 3 Winners.  Have shortlisted 4 , hoping couple of them are able to finish in top 3 . Preferences are 5 year Old's.

6.  James Bond , Stimulate , Magnitude Star.

MS is due for retirement , probably last race in career , reason for third class trainer to engage a top jockey.

Stimulate , not sure when it last Won ..has seen better days , but difficult to wager confidently due to lack of Winning form .... mile trip would have been ideal.

As usual multiple entries from rogue trainers. If ignored options are limited. Mystic Music needs a better rider.

7.  Carducci , Anfield , Arziki.

Winner sighting is difficult here , fancied runners are not certain even for Place. Such being the case , can't suggest for Win.

8. Little Man , Rare & Famous , Able Master.

Another race with multiple entries , Only Princess has failed half a dozen times , did not even Place despite poor field in last couple of occassions. Does not deserve even a Place bet.

Admiral Messi has a Good chance to Place. Having considered this rider in a couple of earlier races , have ignored to avoid being repetitive.

Dubious racing expected , look for race time pointers ..

Mysore 24 th Feb Races

Hi all



Last day of the current racing season ,



Trainers will look to quick gambles , owners for precious stake money to ensure 3 months BTF is recovered , jockeys will be in good books of bookies for obvious reasons. Punters will look for all sort's of pointers to guess results.

9 year Old horses will look for a peaceful life hopefully after being mercilessly made to race over a period of 6-7 years. Spare a thought for those animals , never know what the cruel owners will decide. Just dump them after races or assure a decent life till the end...



1. Tiger of Mysore , Tremendous. Mid Night Storm.



TOM will be shortest priced favorite of the day.



So nothing much to wager in this race unless Place Odds are good for the rest 2 shortlisted.



Horses 6 & 7 are from same stable .. at best one could Place.



Offsprings of Express Wish are not fit even to race in Ooty. Such being the case , ignored 2 runners from CDM Stables. Only trainer in whole country who has confidence in these horses. One or Two will definitely sneak in for Place at some point when field is Junk .



2. Windsor Park , Jump In the Red , Badshah.



Junk race . No point even discussing how bad they all are.



3. Delta Delight , Concentration , Time to Time.



Lot of demotees from class 4 , reason for high ratings. In any case being class Vb , there is no certainty on any of them.. presence of Ace Jockeys can't lead to sudden improvement , horse has to RUN & Excel.



4. Bold Nature , Ora Plata , Friends Forever.



This is the best i could relate to.. for whatever reasons. A few demoted from class 3 , a few promoted from class VB , rest are forever running in class 4 aimlessly.



5. Silken Water , Sazae San , Sky Jasmine.



Sky Jasmine has Won a few races unlike a few others in the fray. Has raced with superior bunch too. Low Odds , dubious connections , reasons to Ignore.



Other 2 shortlisted horses are for Pedigree ALONE as there is No Performance in recent memory @ Mysore. Hoping that with a couple of educative runs , they will finish ahead of Older horses .



Invincible Wish does have a fair chance too. Rider has blotted his record after the Big 3 WINS a couple of months back. Since then absolutely pathetic riding seen in Blr & Mys.  Looks like the victories has gone to his Head.



6. Rising Rani , Tulip , New World.



NW is fit should be able to beat the rest convincingly. Unfortunately last outing Punters were left dazed after horse started to wobble after a few metres & stopped galloping.  Was a Odds On Favorite & fed the Bookies for the entire season. Such being the case  , foolish to venture into that territory again. If it does well , so be it.



Tulip has been consistent & should be able to Place. Rider's record has been pathetic this season.


Rising Rani looks the best based on handicap , worth taking a chance Each Place as Place looks certain.



Galaxy Queen - has seen better days , handicap seems stiff , rider not very reliable , though his record in past 2/3 weeks is good.



Demanding Format is ignored due to presence of Tulip.



7. Fink , Arrete , Constantine.



Fink is seen after a long layoff , on past record , has nothing to beat. Does not mean Punters have to bet as if there is no tomorrow.  Fitness  is always a  ?? & trainer's logic of giving entry on last day of season is questionable. Can be considered for POOL bets ..



Arrete - last run to be ignored as it was after enquiry for a dubious ride. There was absolutely no support at race time even for Place. Hope it will be allowed to run on merit here as this horse is the only 1 in the fray capable of Upset.



Constantine & Evalina are contenders for minor Places.


8. Precious Asset , Pacquaio , Script Writer , Haloween's Way.



King of the World after a smashing Win was expected to do well in Hyd. Rogue O Donoghue rode a pathetic race , obviously with concurrence of Owner / Trainer.  Tracks are bright , but confidence levels will be Low due to dubious nature of stables .. with multiple entries to confuse punters , no point backing their FIRST choice, Also not going to be easy conceding weight .



This being a high quality race , Saddle skills / handicap / pedigree counts a lot.



Hoping that a couple of these are seen at the finish



9. Momotaro , Silent Trust , As Good As Gold.



Over this distance , one cannot opt for older horses , though punters will look at them considering retirement.



10. Go Man Go , Sivanta , Ice Brown.



As difference in ratings of top / bottom horses is not very large , there is no handicap advantage as such. All are seen carrying high weights.



Being last race of the season , race time fancied horse may oblige.

Hi all ,

Long day ahead , due to dual center races.. Lots of low class races , hence caution is advised. No point wagering on low priced favorites. Choices for the day are as follows :

1. Pretty in Patgong , Mr Morrison , Alfredo.

Horses 1 , 5 to 9 have no realistic chance of Winning , at best one of them may Place. Multiple entries / junk rider’s are reasons to ignore all of them.

Cut Diamond has done well this season after innumerable dud
runs to hoodwink the handicapper. May at best Place as there are speedier
horses in the fray.

PIP – is known to cut a fast pace from the word Go.  On that count looks good enough to Place , could Upset.

Mr Morrison, - rider’s record is quite poor on fancied runners. On merit a fair chance.

2. …..

3.Red Fort , Atalya ,  Running Cloud

Class VB race over long distance ,  foolish to consider low rated horses.

A Jodi race ..Rider capabilities will decide outcome. First named has seen better days  2 nd named is has age on its side , failed a couple of times when fancied.

4. Gunga Din , Fringe Benefit , Argonautica .

Basically this is Junkest race of the day , how some of these horses are in class 4 is a mystery.

5. Joss , Phenomenal Memory.

Two Payout race , Horses 1.5.7 have least chance. Personify is facing younger horses , reason to ignore.

Lavender Blue is a maiden & can’t be backed even if it has handicap in favour.  Is 28 points inferior to highest rated horse.

Joss should be able to make amends for its poor efforts in previous start,

6. Wind & Rain ,  Super Bolt , Master Strike.

Zero class race , multiple entries from all the ROGUE trainers . There is no way any one can pick a horse with certainty even for Place due to multiplicity of entries.

7. Spiridon , One Aim , Riot of Colors.

Race for maidens over sprint distance. Pedigree analysis does not serve any purpose in these cases. Horses should be able to take a good jump from gates. Saddle support may not make much difference to the outcome.

One Aim , looks the best , stable record is pathetic in mumbai. Often horse is a non jobber at race time as evident in Odds. Hence race time pointers may be helpful

Riot of Colors – a fair chance to Place as earlier off springs have done well. Only issue is Trainer’s obsession to Win in class VB ..after bringing down rating. Very rarely his younger horses Win Terms races.

Miss Arazan may need 1200 to deliver , could easily Place here  , Payout may be low for comfort.

8. Desert Lily , Majestic Light , Acker Bilk.

Class VB race , multiple entries noticed from all low class trainers of Mumbai.

How can any sane person pick a horse confidently to wager.

My choices are  instinctive , won’t mind losing on Long shots with low investment ,
rather than betting on first 2-3 favorites & losing in the process.

9. Jarama , Armando , Japanese.

Another low class race where most runners have no credentials. Difficult to pick the best of the worst.

Hoping for a couple of these to do well.

10.Wings of Glory , Brown Dynamite , Rapid Girl.

WOG is a demotee from class 2 , facing genuine class 4 horses. If fit can Win despite the handicap .

Brown Dynamite has been given umpteen runs with work jockeys
, horse is always seen cutting a good pace initially but finishes in the rut due
to poor saddle support. Has come down a lot in rating , Place looks good , can Win.

19 th Feb Races

Hi all ,

Shortlisted horses for the day being ...

1. Times Now , Legacy Dream , Heaven & Earth.

Race for maidens , Times Now is well prepared & has the best credentials.

Perfect Harmony - runs have been poor , can't be backed with conviction for Win. Place Odds may be minimal.

Legacy Dream - comes from backward stables , comes into contention on breeding alone.

HaveLock Priness - dubious stables , backward pedigree.

2. Wild Wild West , Kings Kid , Krabi.

Last run of Krabi was a disgrace , horse was never in the hunt at any stage , non jobber as evident by Odds.  Entry was given as a cover to fancied runner in the race. Facing mediocre bunch here , but as a Non Winner , makes no sense backing favorites when it concedes weight in VB Race.

Quality of saddle support in this race is horrible ,there is no certainty on even 1 horse for even Place. Such being the case , one has to just bet instinctively or skip the race.

3. Temujin , Shideh , Vigorous.

Options are limited , unable to decide between the last 2 named horses .. jockey capability will decide fortunes.

But for Temujin & Zulfiqar rest are pretty backward / not consistent / repair cases / aged ..

Could do well if there is spirited backing on any of them at race time.

4. Mistress of Spice ,  Inrepid Warrior ,  Cadillac Sky.

One more race for maidens ,  the  Winner could be from MOS or CS. The latter has a rogue rider.

Former can be considered as Owner's horses tend to do well .

There is scope for only 1 more horse to Place & I.Warrior could find a place in top 3.

5. Winter Bloom , Shining Armor , Cato's Call.

The manner in which Fantasy Queen thrashed the field , gives hope for an Encore. Low Odds , Top Handicap , facing relatively superior horses are reasons to Ignore.

First 2 named horses come from non performing stables. Only reason to Opt for them is due to Jockey capability &  Odds.  Place Payouts on them would be less risky than a Win bet on F.Queen.

Cato's Call should Place by default , Won't pay more than 1/2 money on the tote , dumb to wager for Place. Those who are willing to risk may as well Play for Win. Fetches higher payout with low odds.

6  Pippin , Lozen , Supreme Dominator.

Mickey Mouse , Ace Badraan may not be able to replicate past runs due to handicap.  Place looks doubtful despite they being very superior due to flawed system in which these races are framed.

Potomac does not have any chance whatsoever. Supreme Dominator , runs over ideal trip. Jockey is seen on many fancied horses , obviously cant have 100 % record , even 50 % would be a bonus. Place looks good basically due to limited contenders.

The very fact that Lozen rated 65 ...eligible to race in 40/65 class & M.Mouse rated 99 , eligible for 80 above class .. are seen in same race , such wide disparity in ratings  reflects how pathetic racing could be. How can any sensible punter chose between Multiple race class 1 Winners & those who have come up from class 4.

7. Sands of Time , Glittering , Vencedora.

Horses 1 & 2 have no chance , 6 has come up in rating , needs a strong rider to do well in this class.

Heckett , handicap is attractive , rider is dubious character , record is very very poor. HillsBoro comes from third rate stables , however has done well in recent times after shifting from hyped stables. Since it is aged 8 & is being over raced , prefer to Ignore .

With 5 horses ignored , rest are in contention.

8.  Gabino , Ambleside , China One.

Horses 2.4.6.10 have least chance to Win , may struggle for Place too. Miss Adler / Bon Fire - between the two , latter has credentials , rider is poor , handicap is stiff. Miss Adler has been very inconsistent. Just because D.Allan is engaged , cances don't improve substantially.

Gambino would run at Low odds & hence not bettable. Stable changed after Winning..

China One showed some sparkle in its previous run. On that count , should easily Place.

9. Passion Flora , Private Party , Kimora.

Class 4 race , there are a quite a few genuine contenders. Hoping that a couple of these do well at decent Odds.

1. Secret Launch , Pure Esteem , Reverbrating.

Class Vb race , fancied horses best avoided.

S.Launch looks certain for Place , can upset.

Pure Esteem has raced with better horses , jockey is inactive as riding weight is 60 + . Can Place at longer Odds.

DP - will start as favorite , jockeys record was quite poor on Fryday. As a favorite does not merit a bet .

2. Pull the Pin , Appy's Glamour , Possimpossible.

Highest rated horse has seen better days , remains a maiden.  Did well in last outing , race time trends may give a fair picture of its chances .

Rest are here / there types , nothing certain. One has to pick on pedigree / handicap as past performances have been poor in respect of most horses.

Native Ruler did well in a couple of outings ,  subsequent runs have been so pathetic , difficult to see it doing well here.

3.  All Proof , Click , Be Inspired .


Be Inspired will start as favorite , many horses in I.Ghatala stables have been WINNING at longer odds with work jockeys , when top rider is seen finishes nowhere.  Be Inspired has credentials to Win. Odds may be Low for comfort , rider had lucrative treble on Fryday.

Southern Fantasy has seen better days , retained rider preferring some junk rides in Kolkatta , rather than Winning here.   Jockey capability is a ?? on merit a fair chance to atleast Place,


Two 9 year old's are in the fray , both from low class , dubious trainers. One of them should place , preference for horse with handicap advantage.

All Proof was seen in superior bunch in previous outing , hence was out of board. Runs with an upsetting chance here.

4. Good Fortune , Campari Girl , Racing Fire.

Race for non Winners , quite a few are Debutant's.. have opted for Jockey capability rather than pedigree as often dud rider's are unable to even get a good jump from gates.

5. Festive Cheer , Ice Glow , What A Wonder.

Ice Glow was most impressive in last outing , but beat a bunch of low class horses. Now facing experienced horses in class 3. Getting weight from most of them , fantastically bred , best rider is all OKAY , if Odds are Low why take a risk. Those who backed the 2 Onmoney piping hot favorites , touted as moral certainty .. on friday are yet to recover...

Festive Cheer - should  Place despite the stiff handicap.

Afore was struggling in VB , dubious runs given many times with rogue jockeys. Winning convincingly now when entrusted to stable retainer's.  With Ooty rider declared , no point considering.

El Fenix - another rogue rider who plays to the gallery. Pathetic record in past few meetings .

6. Integrated , Seven of Hearts , Adriphos.

The manner in which Integrated has Won last 2 starts has been very very impressive. Handicap seems stiff , as rider is known for powerful finishes , can Win. As always not worth a bet at Low odds.

7 of Hearts - looks good on handicap , a promotee whose hallmark is inconsistency.

Adriphos , Super Strong & Yellow Zone are all in with a chance to Place.

8. Garuda , Referent , All In.

Considering distance suitability , options are pretty much limited . Repair cases / older horses can't be considered for obvious reasons.

Garuda will run @ low odds ..

New Crown has a fair chance to Place , Odds may be below Evens , with rogue rider in saddle one has to decide whether it is worth a wager.

9. Cannes , Conquistador , Mid Town Delight.

One of the worst races of the day.  Allowance rider's may have an edge .

10. Powerscourt , J Gatsby , Garv.

I'have Got Clout is a demotee , changed stables after repeated failures with top rider's. Would be foolish to consider here with a mediocre rider , at top handicap.  If it has to Win so be it.

J Gatsby , has been running some fair races , looks sure to Place .

Powerscourt - Did win impressively earlier , field was quite poor , as most horses have no Winning form , a fair chance here too.

Bangalore Winter Season - 12 th Feb 2016

Hi all ,

Racing resumes on Friday , week end has plenty of races spread across all centres  , lets hope for the best ...

Choices for the day are as follows ..

1. Meherani , Lovely Dancer , New Victor

Horses 1.5.6.7.8.9.10 are the no hopers .

Cullinan may need more ground to Win , though it can Place here due to limited contenders for Top 3 spots.

The Jaguar is a good horse , trainer worst ever .. Place odds may be minimal , Win may not be possible due to age / handicap.

Rest 3 are default contenders.

New Victor , finished 2 nd last week when rest of the field looked the other way. Favours may have to be returned now.

Lovely Dancer - reject case , has been struggling over various distances. One last chance due to handicap .

2. Krabi , Rare & Famous , Amazing Skill.

Horses running first time this season or ridden by work riders are best ignored even if they have raced with superior horses in recent past. On that count Ever Breaking Wave which seems to be the best horse in the fray is ignored. Running after 11 months.

Queens Ace did well in last outing , rogue rider , last week accepted mounts in 9 races , none placed.

Krabi was seen covering ground in last start , considering the saddle support here , a fair chance. Horse is bred modestly , sparingly raced , not sure of fitness levels.

Rare & Fanous - speedy horse , promising rider ,trainer's horses have not graced the board for past 5-6 meetings. The upset if any.

Amazing Skill - last run was over sprint distance , odds drifted , faced superior field, should be moral for Place here. Does not mean ,punters should bet if the Place odds are below Evens.

3. Time & Space , Honorable Empress , Oye Como Va.

Junk race for VB horses.

4. Galino , Golden Success , Mission Blue.

Race for maidens , nothing certain , even if the Pedigree is impressive.

Only intelligent punters would consider a wager on Captain Morgan - below 70/100 ..

5. Knightwood , Sun Moon & Stars , Down Town Abbey.

SMS is the best , Won impressively despite returning after a long layoff. Win odds may be low for comfort , dumb to wager ... best to avoid. Can be considered for Pool bets.

Down Town Abbey - has been a consistent performer , known for its initial speed , faces superior company , should Place.

Areca Wonder - no idea when this horse last Won. Conceding weight to other 4 year old's in fray. Not going to be easy as a fast run race will hinder its progress.

TKB & Desert Gilt could have been considered , but come from infamous stables.Intent will be known only by race time.

Knightwood - Won impressively on debut , next 2 runs have been pathetic. Racing after 6 months , since handicap is in favour & rider is known to hit the front ,there is a good chance for PLACE.

6. Dazzling Bay ,  Force Ensign , Hidden Soldier.

Difficult to pick the best.. as a few are demoted from 80 + class , few have come from class 3. How well apprentice riders perform is anybody's guess. Aged horses also have Winning form.

Basically a race to be avoided. Opted for long shots as shortlisting fancied runners may lead to big losses , low investment high returns is a better option.

7. Better Than Ever , Zulu Fantasy , Anfield.

Class 4 race , a few made to run over shorter trip.  Repair cases / Failed favorites are ignored for obvious reasons.

8. Jersey Wonder , Top Smiles , Proud Prince.

Winner is restricted to 4 year old's in the fray.

J.Wonder won @ longer odds last outing with mediocre rider. Considering the massive shift in saddle support , has a fair chance to Win again.

Top Smiles - fate depends on RIDER DECLARED.

Proud Prince & Brunaldo are contenders for Minor Places.

All That's Nice has notorious rider , hence ignored.

9.Sir Majestic , Mariko , Mystical Shadow.

Sir Majestic has raced 4 times this season. One last chance .. worth wagering only if Odds are reasonable.

Mariko is a recent outing Winner but beat nothing of note.. is known for its initial speed. Can fetch a Place spot.

Only Princess has taken maximum punters to the cleaners. Consistent failure , difficult to bet confidently even for Place. Going by past few runs & present field , can hope to Place.

Danburite - but for maiden success over 1100 has been backward.  Junk pedigree , Place may not yield much. Win looks difficult.

7 th Feb - Derby Day

Hi all ,

how much ever you study / analyse , Results may not be as per expectations.Those following fancied horses or hyped riders , pay the price as was evident on saturday .. if it was so easy picking winners .. why would the rest of the country's population struggle to earn ..

These are my choices for the day ... 

1. Diablo , Uncle Scrooge ,  Move In Time

Class VB race over a mile , nothing is certain.  Betting on fancied horses is best avoided.

Dancing Splendour has been running some fair races , could Place.

Uncle Scrooge is a demotee unlike many others in the fray.  Raced with superior bunch in recent past. Odds may be low for comfort.

Diablo - looks good on breeding , last few runs have been suggestive , looks good enough to Place / can upset.  

2. Imitation Game , Highland Breeze , Trombone.

Race for 3 year maidens over mile trip . Limited options as few are not bred to last the trip. .

Trombone is modestly bred , can only hope to Place.

H.Breeze , may like the step up in distance , presence of Sandesh should help in improved performance.

3. Via Amoris , Shades of Glory , The Champ , Heart of the City.

Very competitive field. 17 runners , how easy is it to pick the Winner ... even the best may struggle due to bad positioning.

The Champ .. no initial speed , has done well in both its starts , last run had to use all resources to beat the front runner . As this is a class 3 race with many proven sprinters , may not be easy if long lead is established by front runners.

Heart of the City – could Place , last outing rider could not do justice.

Hedwig – after Winning impressively in Pune , blotted record with poor run . Has better saddle support. Trainer had a lucrative double on saturday. Could at best place due to handicap / saddle support.

Dancing Lord – good horse , rider is absolutely thrash.

Phenoix Fire – drawn # 15. Hence I prefer to ignore.

Shades of Glory Won in class 4 , beating VB field. Often quality of saddle support decides outcome. Hope this rider is able to do justice.. Horse is  on promotion.

4.  Flashing Honour , Bay of Love , Atalya.

Mile race in Zero class for Junk horses of Mumbai.

Last run of FH was dubious , race itself was a sham. On demotion could Win , being a Vb race no point wagering if the Odds are low.

5. Mine Forever , Mykonos , Rule Down Under

Horses 1.3.6. have limited chance to Win due to choice of riders / age factor / lack of recent form.

Himalayan Queen could at best Place. Difficult to judge horses ridden by this jockey. When ignored he does well , if wagered he finishes nowhere.

Rule Down Under – trip seems sharp for comfort , can Place as only 4-5 are genuine contenders.

Mine Forever - does have a good chance ,  rest depends on intent.

Mykonos – the upset if any …. Horse has been off the shelf for a pretty long time.

6. Vitesse / Olly Boy , Striking Story. Aeolus Maximus

18 runners over Derby distance in class 4.  Even the best of horses / rider’s may not finish in top 3 , as was seen in earlier race over this trip.

Verbier participated in blr classic  , ran out of steam at the bend itself. Facing modest
 bunch as rider is seen on fancied horse in Derby , best to ignore here.

Vitesse / Olly Boy are from same stables , former has been doing well over long distance races. Latter Won recently , extended trip should not be an issue.

7. Angel Girl , Safdar , Never Say Never.

Those with even ..001 % of Winning derby will conserve resources for the big race. 

Ladislaus is a failed favorite , entrusted to mediocre rider who manages to Win in Hyd. Trainer has 3 entries , how to pick even 1 horse with confidence..

Two Horses running in deceased rogue owner’s color’s. Can’t identify intent. Smart N Noble is capable of Winning as last effort was with work rider.

Never Say Never – Name not suited for this 3 rd class jockey from mediocre center. Wins 3-4 races every race day at home center with active connivance of authorities , unable to do well when pitted against good jockeys elsewhere. NOW THAT C.S.JODHA is declared on NSN , no harm in taking a chance each way.

8. The Indian derby.

20 are officially in the fray.

# 1.2.3.6.7.12.13.16.17.19  - 10 horses don’t have any realistic chance of doing well.

Most of them will only end up harming prospects of Graded Race Winners.

In big events , Luck of the race matters , even No Hopers as certified by experts will manage to do well if fancied runners struggle to accelerate when required / not getting right opening ..front runners tiring down in home stretch are hindrance to horses which tend to come off the pace.

One reason why common sense dictates that riders should not expect too
much  from the horse in last 400 metres. Once in a while ..it is possible to come from dead last position &  Win with a measure of comfort. Can’t keep
using same tactics as field / conditions / tactics are not likely to be the same. 

Chances of Airco , B 52 , Bold Appeal etc..Winning are  far fetched , anyone investing even Rs 10 on these horses should be mentally unstable .

  

Bold Command has not raced for a long time , the quality of horses competed with in Mys / Blr are not in same league.  Sandesh often maintains a good position in big events. That may help to some extent , a Place spot at best.

Brilliant Cut also comes in same category. With this dozen horses have been excluded.

What matters is the Quality of the ride offered not by the color of the skin. Getting few jockeys from abroad does not fetch instant results

Rest 8 horses have in my opinion a chance to finish in top 3 for whatever reasons.

Costa Del Sol – Won in record time in handicap race , not the same as in Terms race... Trainer & Owners have decided that James Doyle is the right person to Win it for them , Good luck.

Desert God – consistent performer over Derby distance across various cities...Has Winning form , which can’t be over looked … only issue is with capability to do well when pitted against quality field. Winning in B class centers like Hyd / Kol may fetch a few millions ,  real test is when you race against those with good pedigree ..Burden of Proof off springs have not Won Big race in Mumbai.  Unlike other horses in fray , this horse will be racing for the first time this season in mumbai ..

Jefferson – logically 70 rated horse competing & winning would be a miracle. Nothing much is known on stamina limitations based on bloodlines as Sire is quite ordinary. But for this horse rest are competing in class 4 .. Despite long break & a slow start was seen finishing on well in last start in RRR Gold cup.. Was it on account of front runners getting tired or not is not known. Those who believe in miracles , can be optimistic on its
chances.

Phenoix Tiger -  Won 2000 G , courtesy bad riding on Costa Del Sol. Lost to rank outsider Colombiana in RRR Cup. Rider is shallow , was a capable rider in earlier years. Current season record is horrible , does not deserve to Win an event of this magnitude. Has hooked many good horses , some did not even Place , trainer is the most dubious in Indian racing.

Sea Lord – relatively inexperienced as it Won a couple of low key races in Blr
..facing many Graded race Winners . With the experience of a run on mumbai tracks , can hope to Place.

Myrtlewood – fancied runner , undoubtedly best chance to win. Rest is upto rider , can't afford to be Over confident as in the OAKS.   A filly competing within 2 weeks over this
grueling trip , not impossible.

Star Formation – Has been pretty consistent over long distance races across the country. Not Won for a long time , often due to poor judgement from jockeys. Last run to be ignored as saddle slipped. Whether rider of TSJ’s caliber can even dream of finishing in top 3 in a classic at Mumbai is ?? but one cant wish away its chances due to his presence .

Gestapo – late debutant has Won a couple of races only against class VB opposition. The manner in which it Won gave hopes , run in RRR Gold cup may have been too early , did receive slight interference , though not very far off from eventual Winner. Well rested since then .. commands respect on its bloodlines. Horses don’t improve in short span of time , improvement seen in results is often for various other reasons.

Winner in my opinion could be from above 8 , anyone from rest Winning would be a blessing in disguise to the People who make maximum  money in racing – Bookies .

9. Cannonball Run , Korol , Indian Serenade.
