the PBM race day
my choices for the day -
1. DEVILLITO
Devilitto has beaten Belligerant in 2009 , the latter now in class I .Surely the trainer deserves a Pat for his efforts to retain this in class V.
Place - Lady Black Star , Hanna Montana , Inner Harmony.
Marudhara Ratan will be for the bookies.
2. ( Starrer / Guns N roses )
Tender Romance barely managed to WIN @ 52 kgs handicap. With C Alford it is always the case of the Russian Roulette , you never know when He can strike.In case there is a change in Jockey then its worth taking a chance.
Starrer may be carrying top handicap but looks better than Star of Roses and Tender Romance. Can WIN.
Guns N Roses - sparingly raced , not seen quality field earlier , difficult to assess chances on relative handicapping but considering the weight advantage is capable of striking.
3. ( Mischevious Trot , Scionic )
Belligerant has reached its peak , coming from class III to 1 is no mean achievement for a mare aged 6.
Angelo - one paced horse , will struggle with this Jockey who WINS only when his horse is taken to the front. He prefers horses which wins without any effort , he as mediocre as any other.
Scionic - non winner at Western india. So a ?? on its ability though the handicap is attractive. A Non Winner in handicap races coming directly to class I and Winning would be a miracle.
M Trot - is better than stable mate Belligerant. Is a late finisher. Can upset.
4.Silver Sands , Rajasthan Royals , Caribbean Queen
Superior Quest does need strong saddle support which is lacking here.
Rajasthan Royals - jockey will decide the fate as the handicap is attractive. Temper mental Srinath will try to restore the confidence of the racing public after some very mediocre riding skills in the recent past.
Silver Sands - impressive Winner in lower class , has a bright chance to WIN.
C Q - at the odds on offer - may be the best " Lay " for the day
5. Aslan , Fairy Queen , Sound of River.
Xenia has run such a pathetic race on debut that a confident bet for Place is also RISKY.
Aslan - tracking well. can upset and provide the President of the Trainers Association something to cheer about.
Sound of River - has some illustrious siblings , that's it. Can only place.
Fairy Queen - 2 entries from the Trainer stables. has good initial speed. May place.
6. ( Fire Vault , Lunar Quest )
Solor is conceding weight all around. Not going to be easy.
Forever Amber - Jockey rides after the 40 Wins as Trainee . Was full of running in race 177 , could have gone close than the final verdict.
Lunar Quest - has good turn of foot which can enable a surprise WIN.
Fire Vault - one of the most consistent horses running over longer distances. Can make it a Start to Finish affair.
Frost fairy has WON a Class IV race. So ignored.
Lion Woods - was in receipt of a gift race on Derby Week end races . How can it be fancied here ??
7.Harlamoff , Freany , Eye of the Storm.
Dancing Dame is a maiden . Not many of these are capable of beating the Winners competing in the same race. So ignored.
Harlamoff - can defy the penalty . Hope the Jockey rides well , usually One race prior to the MAIN event the Top Jockeys dont extend themselves.
Eye of the Storm - looks very good for place
Freany - Moral bet for the day - for Place
8. THE PBM
Amadues , SledgeHammer , Picasso.
Aidan - a joy ride for the Jockey from Kolkata.
Amadues - Jockey S P has opted for PICASSO. Not sure of what this suggests , but i feel that this horse is superior.

my choices for the day -
1. Ability , Maverical , Indian Pride, Panamera.
The horse which is blazing the tracks is Ability. Did have a forward run in race 158. Should run a good race here.
Indian Pride and Maverical have finished 5 th in their previous efforts , One of them may place here at Longer odds.
Forever Glory is the best bred filly , tracks are decent. Long break from the tracks are a matter of concern.
Panamera - just 2 tracks , for a debutant does not inspire confidence , bloodlines are superior , form of jockey is Poor.
2. Rich Radiant , Appolonaire or Native Talent.
Yamas may not stay the distance , Emerald has just One Win to its credit .
Allez Vite is a Winner in the lower class, has the handicap in favour , but with One paced jockey C.D.Hayes will find it difficult to sustain.
Rich Radiant a Winner @ Mysore may not have much support due to his non performance in Blr. Filly is bred to stay and its efforts in the Hyd classic were noteworthy. Worth taking a chance.
One of Neil Darashah's horses is expected to at least place.
3. Hillfiger has the CLEAR CUT advantage over the rest of the field.
Place contenders - Secret Punch , Alphine Shine and Migrolino.
Chemin De Fer - first run , may at best finish 3 rd
4. Lad Zone , Seven Star , Sun Gold.
limited options.
Sound Bet , Defiance , Voodoo Moon and Prithvi are mere participants.
5.Mi Amor - seems to be the best here.
Place chance - Unique Show , HillsBoro.
Mi Amor was touted as a Winner in race 158 when the betting began. Somehow could not get past the front runner who was TOO Good. Gets a chance to redeem the loss. Tracks are very very impressive.
Sunday Cruz - the jockey merit compared to previous run is not superior. Looks like the trainer would give an easy run and strike during the season closing.
Unique Show is well bred and gets a chance to Place.
6.Current Ray / Castro .
Jodi race . Difficult to decide at this point of time as No one is aware of the intentions of the Trainer JODI.
Others dont impress.
7. Celestial Son , Romance in the Air , Still Will.
Class II race , most of the horses have a fair chance. The horses with NIL Chance are - Sunny Gold , Logans Run , on a Roll , Another Destiny , Hurry Anna and Sweet timer.
Jockey merit and initial speed will decide the fortunes of the runners.
8.( Kunigal Star , Silver Court )
Place chance - Inspirator / Another Voice.
Race is restricted to KS and SC JODI.
Last run of Silver Court was very impressive , it dragged the incompetent rider to the post.
Kunigal Star has better credentials having been a consistent performer,.
Ideal Match can be considered for a negative bet on PLACE.
The Gamble if any can come in the form of ANOTHER VOICE. Race time odds will give a fair indication of the intent .

Prince Norbert , Leading Lady and Vayuputra are the contenders.
a mere change in Shoes does bring about a change in fortunes of horses trained by Lokanath , Dominic etc. Lets see if the same is on display again here.
Race time odds will give an indication of the Triers and non jobbers.
Prince Norbert has the distinct advantage over all the others purely on a/c of the weight it will carry. if the Jockey is competent the horse should easily place and can Upset.
2.Class VB race
SKIP
Cool Whistle is the only Winner in recent memory. Rest are All tired and worn out horses competing with some 4 year old repair cases which are for the bookies .Most jockeys are backward.
what to expect ??
Place chance - Thundering Don , Princess Coup.
3.Youngsters
Star Marquess , Hill Stone and Super Nova appeal to me.
None of them are outstanding enough to have a confident WIN bet.Having regard to the previous runs , SM was given 2 bad rides by the erstwhile stable jockey who ruined the chances of many good horses of the stable.So worth taking a chance one last time.
Hill Stone - all similar sounding names , at times we lose track of the actual performances of the horses , mistaking it for some other horse. Lost its way in the betting on debut. Will place here , if Gallagher falters on SM , can WIN.
4.Six Gun Speed , Glutues Maximus , Saloni.
Elusive Speed - Trainer changes equipment simply because his son SURAJ is on Sun Stone. Thorough out this season this Mutual adjustment with friendly stables is the norm.
Sun Stone is a big made horse weighing some 530 kilos , and all 3 runs this season was race time favorite and on expected lines LOST. If it sheds 20 kilos from previous run ,worth taking a chance .
Six Gun Smith - has the best credentials , the previous run at top handicap was very impressive though it lost at the post.
Saloni - the last 3 runs are to be ignored , horse is capable of a much better performance having seen better days earlier .
Gluetus Maximus - handicap is stiff compared to the last run. May be difficult to Repeat the victory.
5.Cavalry Charge , Henry's Secret , Top Kapi.
Oban has reached its peak in this season and hence ignored.
Cavalry Charge did lose to inferior horse - Last Samurai but has credentials in this race as the handicap is stiff on a few runners and the better horses have mediocre riders.
To Kapi ran a pathetic race when it was fancied in the race WON by OBAN. Hope the trainer has attended to its niggling problems.
6.Pinaakini , Dramatic Dancer , Rubellite , Amiable Lady .
The first 2 named horses have better credentials than A.Lady which has just about managed to WIN 2 races this season. Handicap and competition very stiff
Dramatic Dancer - a demotee here , trainer tried his luck with mediocre jockeys and failed. Can shine here.
Pinaakini - no visible tracks ?? Not sure of its fitness.
Rubellite - can finish ahead of the fancied runner if the Intent is visible at race time. All horses ffrom this stable are always BACKED . Never wins at longer odds.

my views for the day -
1. ( Resolute Bay , Adams Prince , )
Both are in with a decent chance to score.
Adams Prince and Gerrad have both WON a race this season . Going by the choice of Jockey on Gerrad it is obvious that it is a Non Jobber.
Golden Kingdom , Royal Style and Highland Quest are ruled out for even place.
Last Tango has no form to go by , has a good rider and at bottom handicap. That's it.
Cougar - should have been the first choice logically , but then with NIL tracks and a Solitary swimming work this month , intent to WIN may be lacking.
Ardent Lover - has some credentials having placed thrice but at this handicap it can only hope to place.Trainer I A Sait did have a lucrative treble last week.
Leaving us with Resolute Bay and Adams Prince. Resolute bay is the best bred filly in the fray. After a solitary run in the colors of KND this horse was sold off to the present owner who tends to buy Repair horses in BULK. Tracks are decent and the mile distance should not pose a problem. In all probability Mallesh could have his First Winner on this horse. If the odds are not very promising worth skipping.
2. Vb race.Our Little Angel , Arabian Power , Winchester
Race time odds Should help in shortlisting One among these Three.
A small each way bet on the first named horse may not pinch the pockets , if it does well a big payout can be expected.
3. Pride of the hills , Thrice Blessed , Let if Fly.
3 year old's . Nothing certain.
Lake Leader is making debut , bred to do well over longer distances. May need this run.
POTH - unextended 4 th in race 167 , the jockey least interested as favorite was Mountain Fairy. Should do well here.

Silver Soul has been given a couple of light runs in the recent past. Can strike if the intent is noticed at race time.
Leap of Faith - pulled a lot of money down the drain in race 147 . No tracks since the previous run , trainer does prepare horses stealthily. Well placed on the scales . Only reason to ignore the horse for win is that its a Maiden and has run sparingly. Could be a repair case.
Telstar - appeals on weights , most runners have no recent form , hence a chance bet.
Gamba - place looks certain.
5. ( Flying Kiss , Spring Bank )
Winner is restricted to these 2 Horses.. Spring Bank would have more support due to the jockey assigned to ride but Flying Kiss has seen better company in both its runs.Cant be ignored.
Riding on the Storm and Tau can hope to place.
6.Most competitive race of the day.
( Maria Terese , Red Passion )
Place - Scenic Silver and Angles Pursuit.
Scenic Silver - has lots of initial speed , jockey merit a worrisome factor.
Smokin Aces - may struggle here.
Red Passion - a very speedy customer , well placed on handicap. Will be a live threat to fancied runners.
Angels Pursuit - has performed well this season. Last run can be ignored due to the presence of a large field. Has credentials.
Aston martin - can only hope to place. The only reason to ignore is the presence of Maria Tersea.
Maria Tersea - should have comprehensively WON race 205 but for the highly overconfident ride by Zervan , was giving the impression that he was better than R Hughes by taking it easy. A bad interference ensured that it did not even place.
7.Sexy Eyes , Banana Boy , Ocean Boy.
Sexy Eyes was unlucky to meet up with Scarface in race 181 . Can make amends here.
Banana Boy - place looks very certain.
Ocean Girl - a gift WIN in race 166. Meeting quality field. Can only hope to place.
Arshavin - failed favorite , enquiry case , all factors which dont inspire confidence to BET.
Running Sun - When did S.Kamble last WIN ?? and this being his first ride for Zadmal Singh.
8. Marine Zone , Golden Spurs , Ran Banka.
MZ has bad gate manners , if it takes a good jump then its very difficult for the others to catch up.
Golden Spurs - has been giving many light rides with work jockeys. Should place. Can UPSET.
Ran Banka - ran a forward race over a mile . Is a known front runner.
Daffodils will be for the Bookmakers.
Steely Dan - sparingly raced , last run was not genuine. Long absence from tracks a pointer to ignore the Horse for WIN.
Kainchi ( based on ODDS factor not neccasarily the best horses )
Resolute Bay , Maria Teresa , Sexy Girl , Flying Kiss , Pride of the Hills.
Good for place - Silver Soul , Red Passion , Marine Zone and Adams Prince.

My preferences for the last day of the Mysore winter racing season 2010/11.
1. Whisper Valley or Raging River.
Will have a look at race time odds and bet each way on ONE of the above mentioned horses.
2.Catapult or Kar O Bar
Jockey merit is on Catapult , the better horse is Kar O Bar.Race time odds could give some clues.
3.Royal View should place here going by its previous effort.
Beauty on Duty , another 9 year old , both making their last appearance on the Mysore tracks and hence may be considered for obvious reasons.
Keep an eye on Crackerjack for the UPSET.
4. Is either Buchethalis or Always for You.
The latter is ridden by Shoban Babu who has migrated to Hyd , so a difficult decision to make as his judgement of pace could go wrong in Mys.

with the season coming to a close and most races framed for horses in the lowest class , i guess there is no point analysing the races as none of the horses look outstanding.
Based on race time Betting action the Winner can be spotted. The Winner would usually hit the front and the rest of the jockeys would judge the pace to perfection and meekly follow. A scramble for minor places would take place in the last furlong.
At times Mysore follows the pattern of Chennai where TOKENS are issued prior to the race . The Horse will run in single file and finish in the same order as decided by the person who issues the Tokens.
Races 1 to 5 are ignored for obvious reasons and my choices for the rest of the races are -
6. Daring Dynamite , The Fuhrer , Khwaish , Miss International.
Iron Marshall did WIN well on debut and then was tried against the much superior bangalore based horses where it finished nowhere. Not sure if it can do well with this first time Rider .
Daring Dynamite - has decent credentials though the absence of saddle support is a matter of concern. as the Jockey is quite mediocre. The has not a race outside of Mysore in his career and in Mysore he has done well only in this season.
The Fuhrer - was galloping after the Winner was sighted in its debut run. Has better saddle assistance here. Is bred well. Should place.
Last outing Winner - Khwaish comes into contention by default. May not WIN but has a chance to place.
Miss International - is one long shot place prospect.

First named may need more distance to do well but with this rider worth taking a chance.
Blue Thunder - after the pathetic show in the previous outing , a difficult choice to make here.
Princess Nero - is definitely One of the better horses in the field. Jockey just about managed to WIN a race this season , the field there being poor. With this handicap and the presence of quality jockeys in this race not going to be easy , though not impossible.
Precept - beat the likes of F.Prince but has form and handicap in favour. May place.
8. ( Euphoria . Wild Temper ) Cationic.
For all practical purposes the bracketed horses are from the same stable .Having seen so many gambles right through this season , One can confidently state that the flow of money in the Direction of one of these 2 horses will decide the outcome. On merit Euphoric has better credentials.

even the weather gods could not digest the results of hyderabad races on SUN DAY and decided to cool the tempers of the local punters . This resulted in the HRC management deciding to cancel the races framed for MOONDAY ,
the competitive racing resumed operations at hyderabad on Sunday after a brief spell of one sided activity.

First Solor may place.

3.Splendid Show - good chance
Laurelle , Cool Spice - place hopefuls.
4.Scamper , Zulima.
Ice mountain and vijay siddhanth dont appeal to me.

last outing winner Aarohan has a place chance.
6.Surya putra , Ashleen State , Queen of Habashe.
Surya putra has better credentials than AS. Hope the jockey rides well.
7.Samsonite - good chance
should place - Esperenza , Kathakali.
8.Alberton Star , Chestnut Charmer , Above the Line.

Punters need not look at ratings , trackwork , previous performance etc., as it would be a futile exercise.
Detailed explanations may not be required for the shortlisted horses due to the highly competitive field .

Always Smile , should be the only threat to the fancied runner.
9. Doctor No , Native Lady , Sea Bucaneer , Royal Connection.
Sea Bucaneer will be the overwhelming favorite but is certainly not a Sure shot Winner.
Native Lady does have credentils but till date I have never seen any horse of SKS ridden by Trevor Patel , going against the fancied runner owned by RKW .

Loveatfirstsight - Trainer Padmanabhan has the ability to spot some fancy names for his Horses. His choice of David Allan has proved to be the costliest Flop in indian racing history doing by the number of failed favorites . The Horses with blazing track works are not sighted at the Winning post when ridden by this Jockey. Has proved beyond doubt that the fixation for fair skin runs deep in our country . A Win on Moonlight Romance does not erase the memories on the pathetic rides on the various other horses.
At the Helm - has been tracking well , hope it delivers as favorite , the combination of Kersi Cachha and Darius Byramji have very rarely obliged when fancied.
Krorepathi - but for the rider would have been a very good place bet as bloodlines are known for speed.
Delta Delight - has run in superior race on debut , no visible tracks since then .
Cash the Cheque - nice name , hope it is related to the Horse only as the Owner is known to encash the proceeds prior to the race whenever HIS horse opens as favorite.

Vb race , results can be quite unexpected.
3. Does race 167 or race 176 hold the key ?? to the fortunes of the punters.

Grand Success , has this Jockey ever WON for Darius ? Why opt for this when there are several other retained riders for the stable ??

Rebel Star - bred well , can definitely do well on debut if ridden well by this Jockey.

Did WIN a race in Pune , a good gamble with the racing manager making his appearance at the course and the Horse getting backed at race time spiritedly. Went on to beat the Black Magic Woman. After that TWO losses against far superior field. So why then this Shift to bangalore ?? for the 11 lacs ?? When did Dallas Todywala last WIN a race in Bangalore.
May be looking good on the tracks but its no easy task to come and beat the local contenders. Not to forget that C D Hayes has proved to be quite poor these days.
Araceli - a pathetic ride ( on expected lines ) from C.Alford in Mumbai in race 158 , finishing behind Class Apart. On Relative jockey merit atleast , Araceli stands a better chance
PreOrdained - did lose to Araceli on debut , the subsequent Win was very impressive.Small field so hope David Allen does not get into traffic problems as is his Wont.
Bavaria - non winner , getting 4 kgs from the fancied TRIO. The upset if any .
7.Gift Of Love , Portatone , Citrali.
Lad Fury - not sure how many punters are ready to back a horse ridden by this Jockey.
Carla - ran as a favorite against Sirono , which is now in class I , this filly still struggling in class 3. Has just ONE WIN to its credit and that too in a terms race not a handicap event. Too much hype ?? Horse not tried from Novemeber when the season started , till date and is now being entered when the racing season is coming to a close. One mock race in Novemeber 2010 and I recent work on February 2011. If this can satisy the followers of form , good LUCK.
Gift of Love - as is the case , a mere change of SHOES from Steel to Aluminium brings in the desired results for certain stables like Dominic and Lokanath . One must commend the intuition the Horse shares with the trainers , delivering only when they WANT to. So on that logic lets hope for the best.
Portatone - if Carla is a red herring then this Horse will be the official entry from the Two linked trainers.
Citrali - can hope to place as its record is quite decent this season.
Don Diego and Recharged - one of them may manage to place if the Intent to do well is visible.
8. Camelot , One Life to Love , Indian Bolt , Con Artiste.
Again the 2 entries from the DUO ?? Sweet Caroline has beaten Camelot earlier but how far will this go on ?? if Camelot takes to the front then its going to be tough for the rest to catch up.
Nessei - 27/11/2010 - last run. Nearly 3 months break. So punters can afford to play SAFE.
One life to Love - has the best credentials to WIN if Camelot is ridden off the pace.
Indian Bolt - the pace set by Delacroix was too HOT , this colt was unable to maintain the same pace and lost out. Should place if the Jockey is sincere in his efforts.
Sun Dancing - did finish on well in race 155 but how many races has this Jockey WON in his lifetime and how many in bangalore. Why is this trainer hell bent on using his services ?? Hope the answers are simple enough for the punters.
Con Artiste - Jockey was seen on friday on ONE of the most pathetic runs seen in recent memory. Took such a long lead that it looked the horse would WIN by a distance , in the end it was placed in the bottom 3 . Jockey is a Non Winner attached to a Trainer who does not give Enough rides for apprentice jockeys. Prefers the Fair skinned blokes to do the job.
9.Crown Vision , A Move to Remember , Ailsa.
if Crown Vision loses here , it would be a fit case for a Case Study. But knowing how trainers like Mahaesh operate , anything is possible in racing.
A Move to Remember - a upset if it can it repeat its summer performance ?? No recent tracks / swimming.
Ailsa - looking too good for place.
Swift Star - failed as a favorite with odds of 22/100. Trainer has wisely changed the Jockey and with The SON doing the honors on Crown Vision , the fate of this horse is known in advance. May open at 22 to 1 here for WIN . That is racing.
Day Trader / Foswell - no tracks , negative change in equipment , trainer content with his WINS throughout the season.

Lad Fury - not sure how many punters are ready to back a horse ridden by this Jockey.
Carla - ran as a favorite against Sirono , which is now in class I , this filly still struggling in class 3. Has just ONE WIN to its credit and that too in a terms race not a handicap event. Too much hype ?? Horse not tried from Novemeber when the season started , till date and is now being entered when the racing season is coming to a close. One mock race in Novemeber 2010 and I recent work on February 2011. If this can satisy the followers of form , good LUCK.
Gift of Love - as is the case , a mere change of SHOES from Steel to Aluminium brings in the desired results for certain stables like Dominic and Lokanath . One must commend the intuition the Horse shares with the trainers , delivering only when they WANT to. So on that logic lets hope for the best.
Portatone - if Carla is a red herring then this Horse will be the official entry from the Two linked trainers.
Citrali - can hope to place as its record is quite decent this season.
Don Diego and Recharged - one of them may manage to place if the Intent to do well is visible.
8. Camelot , One Life to Love , Indian Bolt , Con Artiste.
Again the 2 entries from the DUO ?? Sweet Caroline has beaten Camelot earlier but how far will this go on ?? if Camelot takes to the front then its going to be tough for the rest to catch up.
Nessei - 27/11/2010 - last run. Nearly 3 months break. So punters can afford to play SAFE.
One life to Love - has the best credentials to WIN if Camelot is ridden off the pace.
Indian Bolt - the pace set by Delacroix was too HOT , this colt was unable to maintain the same pace and lost out. Should place if the Jockey is sincere in his efforts.
Sun Dancing - did finish on well in race 155 but how many races has this Jockey WON in his lifetime and how many in bangalore. Why is this trainer hell bent on using his services ?? Hope the answers are simple enough for the punters.
Con Artiste - Jockey was seen on friday on ONE of the most pathetic runs seen in recent memory. Took such a long lead that it looked the horse would WIN by a distance , in the end it was placed in the bottom 3 . Jockey is a Non Winner attached to a Trainer who does not give Enough rides for apprentice jockeys. Prefers the Fair skinned blokes to do the job.
9.Crown Vision , A Move to Remember , Ailsa.
if Crown Vision loses here , it would be a fit case for a Case Study. But knowing how trainers like Mahaesh operate , anything is possible in racing.
A Move to Remember - a upset if it can it repeat its summer performance ?? No recent tracks / swimming.
Ailsa - looking too good for place.
Swift Star - failed as a favorite with odds of 22/100. Trainer has wisely changed the Jockey and with The SON doing the honors on Crown Vision , the fate of this horse is known in advance. May open at 22 to 1 here for WIN . That is racing.
Day Trader / Foswell - no tracks , negative change in equipment , trainer content with his WINS throughout the season.
Juno - in and out running. Cant figure out whats in store.

mumbai - 17 th february
long card ahead , well backed favorites are likely to oblige and trainers Vinayak and the Wadhwan Group are likely to be in the limelight.
my choices for the day are -
1.Loyal Tycoon , Sharp Runner , Hi Dolly,
Loyal Tycoon ran a forward race and finished close 6 th to Sioux Chief. A non genuine horse due to its delayed debut and infrequent running but meeting a poor field . Should easily place , can WIN.
Sharp Runner - the upset if any for the day.
The only winner in recent memory is Hi Dolly and does have a chance as earlier 3 runs were over a mile which is beyond its capability.
Sun Kissed - did finish 4 th to Fox Trot but why would the trainer opt to Demote and run in the lower class. Jockey is yet to WIN in Mumbai. Very very mediocre. Based on previous runs , looks very difficult for WIN , may at best finish 3 rd.A good negative bet if it starts as favorite.
2. Ocean Warrior , Hisham , Monks Ferrari.
Ocean Warrior may be the shortest priced horse for the day. Going by the pedigree of the Horses and Jockeys . it is clear that OW has very impressive credentials.
the Jodha family has 3 entries and logically Divine Majesty and Honey Bee have no chance whatsoever even to place.
Hisham - has raced over longer distances earlier on in its career and if AGE has not taken a toll , may place. Else it will be Monks Ferrari which will come into the picture.
3.Ocean Queen , Silver Screen , Victoress / the Right Man.
Ocean Queen ( failed favorite ) has the best credentials though its a maiden , rest of the field are all non performers .
Silver Screen - a known front runner , can upset if the rider of Ocean Queen decides to take it easy.
Swiss belle , will find it difficult to even place here .
The Right Man , 9 year old but with some credentials , can hope to place.
Victoress , dam is Crepusculaire , which was a class I horse. Sparingly raced , can place at longer odds.
4.Maria Teresa , Ocean legacy , Viva La Diva.
Close call between the first 2 runners. Zervan has to beat the wily McCullagh.
Viva la Diva - is looking better than Emerald Valley for place.
5.Oriental Dawn , Kathelynn , Royal Dawn.
Scarler Pimpernel - the first run after being gelded ( nearly 4 months ago ) Tracks are decent but why this inordinate delay after Gelding is a ?? Winning looks very difficult.A good negative bet.
Oriental Dawn - debut run was impressive , finishing a close 4 th. Has decent credentials to WIN.
Royal Honour - tracks are superior, very rarely does Trainer Jodha Horses WIN on Debut ss his tried and tested method is reduce the handicap and then WIN class VB and IV races.
Kathelyn - will surely place .
6.Tysea , Hurricane Bird , Mistral.
Michele Marieci did finish a close 2 nd to Guns and Roses , but this race consists of better horses and hence not going to be easy to WIN carrying 60.50 kgs.
Tysea - has seen better days as a 3 year old. Has WON earlier on in the season. Is capable of repeating.
Hurricane Bird - very speedy , dam has given many Class I horses. Having placed at longer odds over 1000 metres , it will be fancied again over this distance. Trainer does his best to WIN only when the Odds are in his Favour. Very rarely do fancied horses oblige from his stables.
Mistral - a late debutant , debut run was promising. Can place.
7.Persian Lily , Flames of Fire , National Glory.
1000 metres race , the horses with initial speed and the handicap advantage , have better chances to oblige.
Star of Killarney , was was unlucky to lose to Cape ferret which WON again in the higher class. The penalty of 2 kgs and the initial speed of its opponents will definitely make it difficult to WIN.
Persian Lily - a consistent performer over this distance. Can shine.
National Glory - has tremendous initial speed which will affect the chances of the other runners. Place looks certain.
8.Star Builder , Sea Sparrow , Gatravat.
Race is restricted to these 2 runners
Floods of Fortune has reached its Peak and will no longer be able to WIN in Mumbai.
Gatravat has been quite consistent over the mile . Aged 8 , capable of scaring its opponents.
Star Builder - is well bred , last run can be ignored due to the stiff handicap. Should be able to WIN this race.
Sea Sparrow - once a rousing performer , skipped pune season. Finished 5 th to Icon in race 129. Will reverse the position here.
9.Big Old Man , Kite Runner , Visionaire.
Green Signal is not sighted in tracks, which is not the pattern when the horse is tried. Dubious trainer , cant be trusted..
Kite Runner - finished a close 4 th to Gatravat over the mile. Has bad gate manners , if it takes good Jump , can upset.
Visionaire - Pune runs were with an eye on the handicap. Owners prefer to accept the Trophies in Mumbai. Not sure if the Horse will understand this Logic. Lost its way in the betting in race 138.
Big Old Man - repair case , if fit , can upset. Place looks certain due to the presence of many non jobbers.
10..Cest la Vie , Itrs Spirit of Racing , Tamarai.
Going by its previous run , Tamarai will be the odds on favorite. Should ideally WIN , draw 16 and low odds may be the reasons to Skip a bet and focus on Value for Money each way bets.
Swoosh - beat nothing of note in race 133. May at best place.
Cest La Vie - ignore the previous run capable of a much better performance.
Its Spirit of Racing - can place at longer odds.

Valentine day races at Malakpet
Small card of 7 races . With all earlier records being erased by the Champion Jockey P.S.Chouhan , it looks like the Jockey has gone back to earlier ways, judging from his lacklustre performance on sunday.
My choices for Monday -
1. Clever Ploy , Royal Embassy.
with most Horses participating every week at Malakpet , its surprising to see Vijay's Angel being kept off the shelf from 6 th december. Even if the health condition is not a cause for worry , i dont think this horse has a chance here . Last win was in December 2009.
2.Royal Quest , Trigger Happy , Hunting Boy.
4 trainers have 10 entries. What can one make of it.
3. Chemeli , Royal Sword , Chasm E Badur.
Royal Sword was impressive when picking up the race recently. Can repeat.
Chameli , late finishing types. Apprentice is the best of the lot at Malakpet as the earlier two , Ajith Kumar and P Venkat have not been very consistent these days.
4.Commanding Heights , Kohinoor King , Glen Gyle.
Walnut Creek , its capability at 61 kgs with Daniel Grant is a ? In any case not worth a bet as opposition is very competitive. If below Even Money , a good negative bet.
K King , is looking good for place.
Comanding heights is well placed on the scales and has the best chance to make amends for earlier failures.
5.The Himalayas , Sanjaa , Original Gladiator,
Purely by the weights the First 2 have a better chance than OG which no doubt is the better horse.Both these horses should place and if OG is found lacking a upset can happen.
6.Hamilton , Golden Rule , Cristiano.
Mile race for the youngsters. Who will stay the distance , matters more than Who has WON earlier in the season.
Cristiano is not a certainty.
7.Air Borne Magic , Rosemead , Fearless Mission.
race should be restricted to the first 2 named horses.
Vijay Trishul will keep the bookies occupied througout the betting period.

GI was trained by Arti Doctor and hence her ENTRY here . As most are aware she has opted for Kolkata races with the Indian Derby Winning Jockey - P Kamlesh.So its home coming for both of them.Going by the entries it does look that the race would have gone void but for the sincere efforts of champion trainers S N Joshi and Uday Singh who have very graciously allowed their best horses ROCOCO and PELIKANO to participate.One of these days it will be pay back time.
Sine Qua Non - can be ignored as jockey Neeraj Rawal had a Winner in the previous week, His next Win may occur in April , 2011 at Mumbai.
Belligerant - has a decent chance as the WIN over the mile was impressive.
Amouresque - definitely far superior goin by its pune runs ( under C.D.Katrat ) Did earn some stake money in Kolkata. If it has travelled well , it should emerge victorious.
3.Koko Kika , tongue twister Trophy - Div II
Heiress -
Tracking well , handicap attractive. Going by the large number of entries from this Owner it is assumed that he is making his presence felt at RWITC on sunday.
The dismal effort in race 58 can be ignored as the handicap was stiff and the rider more worried on his ride in race 59 on Blackjack. Surely this horse has better credentials than the likes of Mia Stella and Laserre , which finished ahead in that race.
Vibgyor - Last run against Tender Romance was pretty good. Is entrusted to junk jockeys in Pune as trainer prefers to WIN at Mumbai. Is tracking very well. If not Heiress it is this Horse which will WIN.
If C.D.Katrak has woken up after the Indian Derby Win and decides to give positive instructions to Merchant then Starry Glow will surely place.
4.3.Koko Kika , tongue twister Trophy - Div 1
Oceanic Wisdom / Royal Highness .
if S.K.S has got over his derby debacle and his tears dried up , Oceanic Wisdom would be tried.Has not been tested over 1400. Can WIN but not a certainty.
Royal Highness - has credentials.
Grand Warrior - last run was dubious and that was evident by the drifting odds and lack of genuine intent to do well. Horse is not tracked for past 40 days.
Halo of Fame - no visible tracks , on a hatrick , meeting quality field but does have the advantage in the weights.
5.Youngsters , the ELLE CUP.
Afsoon has failed twice , difficult to see a reversal in fortunes though the field is relatively inferior here.
Angels Turn - with A Imran Khan being barred by the Airlines Association of India , Trainer Karthik is managing the show with a few discarded jockeys from other stables.Horse is well bred.
Adams Vision - last ride was pretty poor but the horse does have some initial speed which may help its cause here.Place looks okay.
Besame Mucho - funny name , hope the trainer has explained to the filly its strong credentials .Dam is Blue Ribbon which was a rousing performer a few years ago .May need this run .
Imperial Star - horse is well bred , may shine over longer distances.
6.The Amateur Riders Club Trophy - Div 2
Distant Promise / Freany
Grant Park - dropped the rider in race 126.Had earlier failed to oblige when strongly fancied.
Satyamev Jayate - if this WINS then the name has to be changed as the literal meaning of the Horse is NOT suited to the likes of Neeraj Rawal.
Distant Promise - won very comfortably in race 117 Can repeat.
Freany - changed stables after a couple of costly failures. Handicap is attractive for a change and distance may suit its style of running.
Singsong - C D Hayes has been a complete failure for past couple of weeks. Cant bet simply because the Owner is handing over some Trophy on this race day.
7.S.C.Jain Sprinters Championship.
Porthush , Forest Flair , Attila.
Arts - not here
Attila - can place.
DArtagnan - draw 16, ruled out.
Demonstrator - short of class.

Moon Star - can stay the distance and has the weights and also the most hyped rider atop , but does it have the CLASS ? Nopes
Polish patriot - late bloomer , if it WINS again it will only reiterate that the earlier effort was no flash in the PAN. Definitely a strong contender.
Cielo Rey - start to finish specialist- Mumbai straight may slow down its chances..
Clarion Call - the best is reserved for Pune season.
Native Knight - yet to WIN , how many more races is everyone's ??? very close 4 th to the Champion Miler. Is this race too early ?? Can a apprentice jockey enable a WIN in the Eclipse Stakes and make a statement to the racing world ??
Star Alliance - fantastically bred , did not shine as a youngster. Can it beat the seasoned contenders as its earlier 2 wins were against some pretty ordinary horses ??
