Class VB , aptly named OOTY stakes , yet one can't wager on horse ridden by Jockey fit to ride in OOTY, Going by past runs , New Era doubtful for Place too.

Croizet - Earlier's Trainer's record was worst for past few seasons. Only Win this season coming thro a Borrowed horse. With shift in trainer ..One can hope for the best as rider declared is the CHAMP & horse did well in last outing. Consistency is not expected from this stable , hence every bet will carry inherent risk.

Sudha looks good on the scales..Could be Trainer's parting gift to punter's who have reposed faith in his abilities.

There are a few horses which are due to perform anytime..one only hopes it is not today.

Hi all..

Pune races ...lots of on money favorites..expected to Win. Odds may be short for comfort for most punters.. going against few favorites may not yield dividends. As most races have limited contenders Place payouts are also expected to be Low on fancied runners..

Ideally best to go for only Place bets or skip.

1. Dubrovnik. Beneficial. Poets Song.

Horses with run benefit have an edge.Fancied runner will run at low odds.Can Win but who backs at those odds...

Poets Song is well bred , but choice of rider is ?? may be risky for Win.

Rock In Rio - place payouts may be meagre.Win looks difficult.

Beneficial - outsider , rider may be for odds.

2. Germanicus. Meraballa. Toofan.

Younger horse gets the nod for obvious reasons. Since it is racing after long time .. punters need to look for Horse weight.. if it has gone up substantially .. can go against it.

Toofan - rider is backward , can hope to Place as it has had a run recently.

Meraballa failed favorite on opening day , faces superior opposition.Good for Place.

3. Brynhill. Ageless.

Brahmachari needs longer ground to prove its credentials.

Zander is a front runner , has failed often. Difficult to consider a bet due to poor saddle support.

Brynhill- is original class horse , has seen better days , rider can be relied upon to Place / Upset.

Ageless - last outing was Over weight + 20 kgs.. as is often the case with Todywala horses , performed dismally.. can hope to do well if weights are down today.. 

Horses 4.5.6 have no chance to Win.This being 2 payout race can't back confidently for Place...

KC will be universal choice , this being first rider for T.Patel @ low odds .. best to keep away.

Firebolt on the basis of its past few runs is expected to put up a fight.. poorly bred..

AAB has worst rider .. place odds may be low..

Big field , if there are no traffic issues , straight fight between Arak & Courtship. Arak has undoubtedly seen better opposition .. as both are from common connections.race time pointers may help.

Torrezzo , Knight of Stars & River of Stars are expected to fight for Balance 1 spot..

7. Almost Magical. Ame. Bohemia.

Dash for Cash race .. nothing certain.. 

Jockey's need to position horse in initial stages , else it is a lost cause. Hoping that a couple of these finish in top 3..

Choices of rider's is a big negative ..hence ignored most of them.. age also being against them..

VB race , no point Playing favorites as there is No merit as such. With 15 in the fray , there is scope for some outsider to Win. As most of earlier races have small fields, only fancied runners are expected to oblige. The upsets if any can happen only in low class races..

Kingston Heath is a known front runner.. rider is not very reliable. As it is seen conceding weight .. best to skip Win bets.

Sherwood ..rider too is backward .since field consists of many dud's ..can shine..

All That's Nice - a failed gamble in prev start. Looks better on handicap , Place is not a certainty as Trainer is yet to Win a race this season .. low class stables , no consistency. Rider is ?

Montengro - did all the running before being passed at post by Storming Home over the mile trip. Facing sprinter's here , different scenario. A good chance for Place.. can Win if Incompetent rider is able to hit the front..

Shining Magic - expensive failure in last 2 starts...can hope to make amends..

Saladin ..last run to be ignored due to mediocre rider. As horse is conceding weight..can be ignored for Win.

Alexandrite - can only hope to place ..last few runs are not convincing..

Summerhill - beat nothing of note in last start , Place odds may not be more than 50/100.. Not worth the risk with this rider. Those confident can opt for Win & hope for LD's loss.

Afore is known to be speedy.. despite best Apprentice rider ..horse failed..intent missing at race time.. Place prospect @ longer odds...

Back of Beyond - ignore last run , jockey willing could place here.

Dual centre racing .. a few races avoidable due to limited entries, rendering non competitive.. low odds horses can Win some races..those comfortable can Play ..i have not listed most of them in front for obvious reasons ... not every favorite wins a race.. from the looks of the card.. can't expect long shots ..hence do look for value bets...

@ Pune –

1. Jig Saw , Shadowfax

Horses 3 & 4 have no chance to Win. On merit former looks superior , fitness as evidenced by weights / Odds to be factored ..

2. Sumaaq , Starry Brook.

Multi Glory has least chance to even Place.

Jazzmyn may not be able to match strides here though it has been consistent.. rider is backward..

Magnolia may garner support , on account of its recent run. But facing couple of younger horses + a demote. In my opinion may be difficult to Win. In any case at Low odds …not many would consider it for a wager..

Starry Brook  has seen better class but concedes weight to 4 year old’s. Last few runs have been quite ordinary. Change in tracks / weather may suit its running style.

3. Iridescence , Pheonix Fire , San Martino.

Horses 1.6.7 may not even Place for obvious reasons.

San Martino may be fancied due to low weights as well as Trainer / Owner factor. Last run was definitely good but a Non Winner ..at low odds.. why take a risk ...better jockey may have helped its cause.

P.Fire ideal trip may be 1200 at Mumbai .. as pune tracks are not strenuous .. possible to manage step up in distance …rider can be relied upon to deliver at least for Place.

Iridescence – comes into contention by default. Conceding weight ..no doubt .. has seen quite consistent & with a hard rider capable of doing well..PLACE looks Good.

4. Ice Angel , Rainbow Dash , Cheer Leader

Handicap race in class 4 meant for 3 year old’s only. Those conceding weight must be very good to consider a wager as they won a race earlier at level weights… Suraj Narredu ridden horse Won well on debut when unfancied.. Tracks are decent..

Rainbow Dash – did well on debut , pedigree is good goes over right distance. Can Win but as always not worth a wager at Low odds…

Ice Angel .. on account of apprentice rider gets a small advantage due to weights .. well bred , recent tracks are noteworthy. A Place in top 3 is possible..

Flashy Wings – rider is absolutely mediocre .. on breeding / preparation could Place .

5. Believer , Artificial , Fortuna.

Horses 1.4.5.6.10.11.12 are ignored due to poor saddle support .

Pierce Arrow has been tried over various distances , has scope to Place.

Marcus Aurelius , has not been given the best of rides in recent past.  Win may not be possible , Place odds won’t be high , not worth the risk considering payout

Artificial is front line contender , basically due to impressive pedigree but earlier off springs have also failed miserably. Ideal trip would be 7 furlongs. May Win due to lack of better horses in fray.. at low odds .. I would prefer to SKIP

Race for maidens , Horses 1.2.4.5.6 are expected to fight for bottom 5 spots.. rest are in contention..

Difficult to back horses ridden by the likes of N S Parmar when odds are Low.

Fury..has a fair chance to succeed..

7. Congressional , Your Royal Majesty , Colombiana.

Not often do we get to see 15 horses competing in class 1 race .. often they are reserved for class 4 & 5 only with multiple entries & junk horses.

Choice of riders gives an intent vis a vis certain stables. One can’t be really confident though …as it could go the other way too.  As Adam and Solomon have poor saddle support , ignored.

Apache may need better saddle support..often Dasrath Singh is seen fumbling at crucial stages of the race.. not a graceful rider..

Horses 11 to 15 have poor saddle support.. at best one of them may Place.
Ooty Horse may compete for bottom 3…

Dancing Prances is a good horse.. regular partner is seen on Zachary which has not been very active after a pathetic display in blr.

Hoping that younger horse Colombiana which has seen better class will Place.. though distance seems sharp for comfort.

Tough race , really difficult for any racegoer to pick on merit..

8. Zinfandelle , Frosted , House of Commons..

Offsprings of Thewayyouare are rotting across the country with hardly any success. Best horses of these owners are usually entrusted to Shroff & Vishal ..not sure how good House of Commons is .. as horses 2378 are backward .. there is scope to do well..

This is another difficult race to wager as most horses have no form whatsoever .

9. Franz Ferdinand , Elsa , White Sox.

Many horses in fray have finished double distance behind Winner in past few outings.. Older horses can’t be considered for top 2 spots.

F F may run as shortest priced favorite on account of the above reasoning.

Hi all..


To keep Punters's in good spirits , RWITC has decided to conduct racing today , despite tracks being severely affected due to continious & copious rains during the past few days & knowing fully well that it could rain during the day.. It is futile exercise to wager confidently on any horse for whatever reasons.. as results may be contrary to expectations.

I could have easily listed a few horses here , without getting concerned about eventual outcome , but decided against it..

Not that all my choices have clicked till date .. Not answerable to anyone as such , as each one decides for himself even after reading my views on the races ..but putting up a blog without an honest effort from my side is not something i relish ...

5 th August Blr Races

Short of time.. hence only brief picks. No point listing favorites in all races..those inclined will play them anyway irrespective of my comments..( updated at 11 am )

1. Hot Star . Veda.

classic Vb race to start the day off , best avoided.

Last outing failed favorite ThunderSquall may be fancied again , foolish to consider at low odds.

S.Armor best horse in fray , but capability of rider is unknown & Trainer's logic of using his best rider on another horse is baffling.  

2. Flirting Eyes. Cadillac Sky.

C.Sky is best of the lot, may Win comfortably. But at what Odds ??

Horses running after long break are best ignored , F.Eyes rider is absolute trash. May Place.

3. Havelock Princess. Side Winder .

Prosperpine - best in fray , universal opinion.. hope it Wins.

Side Winder has a good rider & its runaway victory earlier this season gives hope for a Place spot.

HP - has the rider for the occassion.

4. Seven of Hearts. Amorate.

7 of Hearts is speedy , past few runs were dubious & fraudulent going by distance factor. Can do well ...

Amorate comes after a long layoff , at low odds , risks are High...

5. Bold Command. Brilliant Cut.

Alaindair , has class unlike the rest. Age has not diluted its Winning form .. At low odds , no point wagering.

Bold Command looks good for Place at least going by its previous victory.

6. Good Fortune. Triple Crown.

Best in the fray is GF. Should oblige , jockey / odds willing.

Back In A Flash - owner colors prominent when horse runs at longer odds. They usually prefer , low profile jockeys to do the job..

7. Beauty is Truth. Nagarjuna.

BIT has seen better days , one last chance in lower class. If it does not Win here , time for Club to send it to one of the low class centre's - Delhi / Ooty / Kolkatta 

Nagarjuna looks fit enough to Place.

8. Kanthaka. Perfecto.

Not inclined towards fancied horses here as all are non Winners..


Most of the above horses may be longer priced.. do look for each way or Only Place bets..

Hi all..

Poorly framed lacklustre card from initial review..hope results are fruitful..

1. Elegant Star. Irish Prince. Galino.

Vb race..best left alone..particularly @ end of season.

Exacta - 5 7 / 5 7 1 9 / 5 7 1 9 / 9 2

2. Cape Cross / Talledega. Carolina.

Highest rated is SBA due to its efforts in previous start.. difficult to consider horses from Nityanand stables as they often fail when fancied..

Last run of Cape Cross was very impressive. Could have even Won but for couple of interferences..bad judgement from jockey. Fair chance here..facing superior opposition..

Talladega fared well on debut..on that count can't be ignored ..trainer / jockey are very active off late.. a few failures are expected ..

3. Emperor Cruize. Dazzling Bay. Havelock Prince.

Competitive race.. TL was an impressive Winner in last outing... may at best place here.. in addition to handicap..rider's record is very poor .

Havelock is facing younger horses..last Win was out of turn..inconsistent horse / stable

Dazzling Bay ... looks good but for rider. Worth a bet if Odds are reasonable.

E.C .. has raced with superior bunch in earlier seasons..lethargic starter. A goid jump & it can surely be in contention for First 2 Spots.

4. Sheryl. Splendid Splasher.

As Cattelya form is poor at blr ..assessment of its chances against horses which just Won this season is debateable.

Rest 2 are natural contenders. Sporting Pleasure won at 10 to 1 Odds.. punters who did not see merit then.. why bet now at 3 to 1 ??

5. I've Got Clout. Frizbee. Vicious Circle.

V Circle is the best of the lot if last outing is the basis ... odds are likely to be low for comfort.

IGC has failed maximum number of times.. last outing outer draw + poor tracks ruined its chances. Place odds may be Higher than Win odds of V.Circle...

6. Atlantis. Kapalua. Trojan.

Options are limited as Most horses in fray are non Winners in recent memor..

Kol 3 rd August races

Choices for the day are .....

1. Dixie Diamond , Cadman , Glamourous Glory.

fight between the 3 year old's in fray. Cadman is the better horse , Odds may be low , conceding weight. If for any reason is unable to Win , DD can oblige.

Rest 1 place spot is open , Place odds on Mizuno may be Low, hence opting for GG which had a run recently.

2. Uptown Girl , Divine Dimension , Kanha.

class VB....

3. Blazing Bullet , Rabda , Theo

Most in the fray are JUNK , reason for Not Winning despite several runs in previous season. The so called best horses may run at Low odds , not worth a bet..

4. Ophion , Legend Of The Pheonix.

Two payout race... Horses 2.3.6 have no chance to do well..

SunSet Sail has seen better days but conceding weight , not worth PLACE bet.

Rachmaninoff - Won recently after several unsuccessful attempts in previous season.. Can hope to finish 2 nd. Is it worth a bet will depend on Place Odds offered ...

5. Make Way for Me , Knightwood.

Evesham is best sprinter at this centre , money spinner for Owner's. Despite innumerable Wins , will carry same weight for whatever reasons. Often races are framed for this horse , giving adequate time to rest & then race ...to earn precious stake money.. Rider is not best even if Horse has to drag rider to post , no point wagering as Rogue trainer has opted for ODDS.

Multitude / Mr Gorgeous are more suited for 1400/1600 yet can Win if low rated horses tire down in straight. As there are multiple entries from single trainer , foolish to opt for anyone of the 3 ...

Knightwood is speedy but faves class 1 opposition unlike blr where it met modest bunch in class 3 & often had to beat just 1 horse. Entrusted to junk trainer of India , who does not even opt for positive equipment...

Make Way for Me has been very consistent , hoping it can finish in top 2.

6. Annie Oakley ,  Hudson Hawk , Apercus.

Sprint race ,lot of multiple entries , DUD's in fray.

Annie Oakley gets positive shift in saddle , Place looks very good. Can Win.

HH is speedy , last run was not extended. If rider ( ability not known ) can take it to the front , a fair chance to Place / Upset.

7. Empowered , Apical Finala , Super Striker.
