The Three Horses which created a STIR this week.

Rhapsidion Snow for having set a new record over 1400.
Aboline for having WON the Derby.
Celestail Way for the manner in which it WON the race.




Not to mention the performance of the 3 year old Still WILL which blotted the record of Champion Trainer Padmanabhan.Having used the services of TOP Jockeys many times this season , the selection of Lisa Jones to partner African Sky was a mystery.The Horse was quoted at a miserly 38 p at race time in spite of this Jockey.

Ran a pathetic race which benefited the bookies immensely.




Rhapsidion Snow , settling the RECORD straight.Has tremendous initial speed which enables the Horse to retain the position until the very end. Has lost many a time due to wrong choice of Jockey deliberate or otherwise is something which is a ???




Celestial Way :

Agreed that the Horse was getting weight from all the opponents in the fray.Momentarily it did look like the horse was not going to succeed at the bend position but the subsequent manner of Victory was so convincing , it was a No Contest there after.











and Finally Aboline. Dictated terms right from the Start. A disaster in the colts due to change in the tactics resulted in many punters ruling out its chances.Having an excellent record at this centre did not help.

Arjun Mangalorkar's good looking colt was unbeatable till a couple of weeks ago. He had run away from everything that had tried to oppose him on the track. He is endowed with early speed and powerful acceleration. Aboline had won a couple of times over seven furlongs and indicated that the extra furlong in the "Colts" shall be well within his compass. He started as the 75/100 favourite in that race. He ran a peculiar race on that day. A horse that would normally lead a bunch of top class sprinters was unable to show the way to a group of milers. The fact that he flopped miserably is history. Some people felt that the connections had decided to hold him back to watch his eventual acceleration from the rear. They were perhaps testing him for the Derby.

Others felt that the horse wasn't fully fit, as, in the days preceding that Classic he had not been subjected to his normal preparation on the training track. There was a strong rumour about this horse coughing a few day's prior to that race. The stable had a choice of giving him medication and withdrawing him from that race, or hoping that he would win on sheer "Class". Whatever may have been the reason for that day's performance, we must remember that all champions can have an off day!

This so called COUGH or the change in tactics was not in PUBLIC domain which led to Punters losing out in the bargain.However It did look like some bookies were aware on this matter due to generous odds at race time on the Colts trial stakes day.
